The sun sets as Raiden, Erika and Shurui walk down the busy street from earlier again. Erika pulls her huge hammer out of her backpack and activates it. It starts steaming and glows purple in a few places. She smugs and Raiden and Shurui are mesmerized.

  “Wow, that’s an interesting glow. Shurui-chan, analyse it!”, Raiden orders but Erika explains first, “The Kryzilum reactor is being used in modern technology since it has an explosive reaction at a temperature of around 2175 °C. I achieve that inside my hammer with the modifications I made earlier. The potassium in the reactor burns purple and dominates the flames. I’ll use it as a jet to propel my hammer into people!”

  She puts on an evil smile at the end and Raiden is amazed.

  He then remembers something and asks: “Hey, uh… I’ve been meaning to ask this for a few hours now so… how is your relationship to that seller Svalin?”

  Erika smiles again for a moment and starts explaining while putting away her hammer: “It’s a long and personal story. To put it simply, he’s the fatherliest figure I’ve had in my life and we’ve been in Sarseia for two years now.”

  She notices something: “We’re getting close to the hideout. We should talk about a plan.”

  Raiden asks: “How does someone like you know? Are the police really that scared even though they know exactly where he is?”

  “Well, this city’s lacking strong bounty hunters. Normal police officers can only do so much.”, she shrugs and offends Raiden, “Hey!”

  Raiden then thinks for a second and suggests: “We should just barge in there and beat up everyone that tries to stop us.”

  Erika is disappointed: “You’re joking, right?”

  Raiden doubles down: “Nope! If the enemies are just like those goons, we beat up earlier, then I can take on a hundred guys!”

  He flexes his muscles and Erika comments: “You do realize what that sounds like?”

  Raiden triples down: “I do and I fully intend it. I think it’s funny.”

  Shurui adds: “You could start saying stuff like that too, Eri-chan!”

  Erika gets angry: “Hey, you bratty sheet of metal! I thought you’d only make lesbian comments!”

  She hits Shurui with a wrench and then notices: “Ah! The gate already?! Now we don’t have a plan!”

  Raiden charges up his fists and says with a big smile: “Oh yes we do!”

  He rushes to the huge door and destroys it with a single punch. Everyone inside the punky police station building and outside on the streets panics except for one red-eyed man who is watching the scene from a little further away. The people flee.

  Shurui shouts after looking through the building with infrared view: “There are over ten people in this annex but only four of them seem to be coming towards you!”

  Erika is shook and sighs angrily.

  “Guess I don’t have a choice.”, she mumbles, takes out her hammer and rushes in as well.

  A group of four men approach Raiden. The first tries punching him with a flaming fist but Raiden dodges easily and flings him away with a nose-breaking punch. The second has rocks formed around his fist but Raiden grabs the arm and pushes it upward, headbutting him to the ground. The third has a lightning charged fist and Raiden tanks the punch to the face like nothing happened, front kicking the guy in response. The fourth surprises Raiden with his speed a little and cuts his left hand with a sharp icicle before being lifted up into the ceiling with so much power that he faints as well.

  Raiden looks at his hand and says: “I need to be more careful.”

  Erika joins him: “I was about to say.”, she looks down at the men Raiden just defeated, “The fact that all of these have powers shows you how rich Garuphu is. A ‘power granting syringe’ is too expensive for most people in Sarseia.”

  Raiden walks to the counter where someone cowers behind it and asks without any hatred in his voice: “What is this place? Why are there prison cells here?”

  The counter person explains: “Th- this is the p- p- prison annex of Lord Garuphu’s c- complex! He keeps his s- s- slaves here! Please don’t hurt me!”

  Raiden walks up to one of the cells where a woman already stands at the bars with wide open eyes.

  “Shurui-chan! Weld open this cell!”, he orders and Shurui does so.

  The woman walks out like nothing happened and smiles: “Why thank you. Didn’t think my knight in shining armour would appear so quickly.”

  She kneels to talk to Shurui: “Little robot, could you maybe stay behind and free all the other girls?”

  Raiden asks, sounding serious: “What… has he done to you girls?”

  The woman introduces herself: “My name is Atsume by the way. Garuphu has used the other women as sex slaves. Since I’ve only arrived yesterday, he didn’t do it with me at least.”

  Raiden gets really angry but keeps it in: “Nice to meet you, Atsume. I’m Raiden, this robot is Shurui-chan and my friend over there is Erika. If you’re just a normal woman then please use this opportunity to flee.”

  Atsume replies with a smile: “But I’m not at all normal. I’ll help you fight!”

  Raiden is surprised: “You can fight?!”

  Erika barges in: “If that’s true, then we might really have a chance! Even though we can’t know for sure.”

  Raiden declares: “It’s settled then. Welcome aboard the team, Atsume.”

  They shake hands.

  The man with brown hair and red eyes now walks across the rooftops of the buildings and thinks to himself: “I don’t get why they can’t just go stealthy. Beating all the henchmen only tires you out before you get to the good fights. Well, easier observation for me.”
