The dragon twisted and writhed in the air as it tried to get its claws to reach the rogue. The rogue was having to grip as tightly as he could with both his hands… he was gripping the spines of the dragon for dear life as it flew through the air.
Now is my chance… we need to move while it’s up there.
I went to rush across the square with Xion, but he was frozen in place, shaking and terrified. I can tell from the smell that he has wet himself… and I do not blame him for that at all… I almost did that myself.
Dwynfel: “Xion, we need to move… now.”
Xion: “He’s dead… he’s dead.”
Shit… I don’t have time for this. I grabbed him by the arm and dragged him. My speed was minimal because his body was very rigid and I am not exactly a powerhouse. As I ran, I saw Dolly running in the other direction towards the stall that Olly had been flung into. Big Bertha emerged from behind the fountain with Freddy and everyone else attempted to regroup.
I handed Xion to Big Bertha and she took the terrified kids inside Madame Laurent’s. Dolly had managed to stand Olly up and was helping him walk back across the square. He… he does not look good. There is a lot of blood coming from his stomach area… and I can see the bone sticking out of his left shin.
Kiyui rushed over to help escort Olly to the brothel. I really hope he’ll be alright, but I really can’t focus on that right now.
Chenowith: “We need to get that thing out of the sky!”
Tower Shield Guy: “It is not attacking the safe zone anymore… perhaps we should leave it.”
Chenowith: “If we leave it, then who knows how much of the city it could destroy.”
Crossbow Guy: “I only have a few…”
Another roar resounded through the air. Different to before… more screechy and less deep. We looked up and it clearly hadn’t come from the dragon above us. That dragon was twisting its head round to try and bite at the rogue. But when the roar happened, the dragon itself looked for where it had come from.
This is bad… there is something else up there. Mother of Mercy… if there is another dragon then we are beyond fucked.
The dragon circled round to face whatever had roared. Then I saw it. It swooped down from behind a cloud and rammed into the side of the dragon with considerable force… so much so that the rogue almost fell.
It’s a wyvern. A lightning wyvern to be precise. Wyverns are basically dragons without the two front feet. Their claws are at the end of their wings. Lightning wyverns have a distinctive bluish hue to them and rather than flames they emit… well… lightning… the name is pretty self-explanatory.
Neither of these creatures are what you want flying over your city. Either one of them could cause horrific destruction. Fortunately, they do not appear to be friends. They circled round each other, exchanging bursts of fire and lightning, ramming into each other, attempting to bite each other. Blood and scales fell from the sky.

Crossbow Guy: “What do we do now?”
Chenowith: “Let them battle it out, then finish off the winner.”
Farrow: “We need to get Chester down.”
Chenowith: “Unless you have something up your sleeve that I don’t know about, he’s on his own up there.”
I have to admit… I do not envy him at all. He must be absolutely terrified up there. Gripping that dragon’s spines for dear life… hoping that he doesn’t get hit by lightning or crushed by all the ramming. If I was him, I would have shat myself long ago. The fact that he jumped on that thing’s back to begin with shows him to be incredibly brave.
The dragon and the wyvern flew directly at each other. At first, I thought that they were going to collide into each other head first, but the wyvern veered off at the last second. Chester swiftly drew one of his daggers and sliced it through the wyvern’s left wing as it went past. The wyvern screeched in agony as its wing was almost entirely split in two. It only remained connected to the thin bone at the top of the wing.
The wind whistled through the torn wing as the wyvern started falling through the sky. The wyvern twisted and spun as it tried to right itself. It flapped both its wings furiously, but its left wing was simply unable to give it any lift.
It crashed into the ground one street to the north. The dragon circled round to take a run at it, but the wyvern was not going to bow out so easily. It swiftly climbed up onto a row of buildings and unleashed a truly fierce burst of lightning. Lightning travels much faster than fire and within a split second it had struck the dragon.
The worst thing about lightning is that is does not stay localised. It travelled all through the dragon… which stunned the dragon slightly… but dragons have high resistances, so it managed to keep itself in the air. Chester does not share the dragon’s resistances however. His body went rigid… his hood fell off and his hair stood on end… his grip held firm until the shock wore off… then his entire body went limp and he just fell.
The fall only lasted a matter of seconds… but he fell so fast… there was a painful thud as his body slammed into the ground… blood splattered across the floor… then a red pool started to quickly well up around his body.
Farrow had been tying up the horses during the commotion with the dragon. She ran over to him. She looked back up at us and shook her head. I wasn’t expecting him to have survived that… but fuck… we are losing too many people here. This is not going well.
The wyvern continued firing bolt of lightning after bolt of lightning at the dragon. The dragon looked as though it was being sent into a rage. Flames started shooting from its nostrils and it emitted a pillar of bright white flame down on the wyvern. The flames burned so hot that we could feel it all the way on the other side of the square. The building that the wyvern was standing on collapsed and the badly burned wyvern fell with it.
The dragon flew down and landed to the side of the collapsed building. It reached its mouth inside and pulled out the neck of the wyvern. It bit down firmly and tore the creatures head clean off, before returning to the sky. It flung the wyvern’s head down in the centre of the square as if as some kind of horrific warning to us.
We need to stop this dragon and we need to stop it now.
Try to ignore the fact that the dragons don't seem to have eyes or teeth.
Honestly... AI is terrible.
