Chapter 36 – Full On Balloon Animal

Now, we’re all thoroughly separated. Rey said to himself as he ran. Scooby doo put the worst ideas in that girl’s head.

At least in Scooby doo, Fred was with the girls, up until a few moments ago, he was Fred, now, he felt more like Scooby, scared for his friends and going headlong into danger.

The worst part was that his torch was running out or would soon run out. He had to deal with the Nestoriel holding Ajay, if it was still holding him, and he hadn’t become the proud incubator of a few hundred rotten eggs. He shivered at the image that his brain conjured up.

He picked up the pace because he was more worried for Kassandra than anyone. She had six arrows remaining, and Filomena might as well be down for the count. No matter how good a shot she had become, she couldn’t take down a Nestoriel brood mother with just six arrows—especially a Nestoriel who had found a nest for its eggs.

He had seen these things fight tooth and nail for their captives before. He had even lost a friend to them in his last playthrough. Though he wouldn’t call Chadres a friend, more like an acquaintance.

No, not an acquaintance either. He was more like a mangy mutt that used to fetch nice materials for him once in a while, when he wasn’t trying to con Rey out of everything he owned. Still, he was useful to have around.

Did he deserve the end that he got…probably.

But Ajay and Filomena definitely did not deserve that end. Or any end, for the matter. After all, Rey had to get them to the D-Tier to save himself.

However, if everyone dies and only I make it to the D-Tier, will that bestiality enthusiast really kill his only goose that had just turned somewhat golden?

He didn’t have the time to think about this for long as he heard some gurgling sounds coming from up ahead. He went a little cold.

  That doesn’t sound good.

He rushed through the tunnel and headed for the sounds that could only be someone choking on a massive cock. A cock like Rey’s, though he would never brag about it.

What he saw as he came into the cavern was not an image that he would be able to get out of his head for a long time, and he had seen some truly fucked up things in his life.

This was the exact opposite of what had happened with the succubus. Back then, Ajay had been the one giving it; now he was receiving it.

Thankfully, not from the rear, but from the front.

Not saying it makes it any less bearable to watch or go through, but if it were happening to me through the rear end, I’m not sure I would want to live. No matter how many times I got a redo on life.

Ajay’s eyes had rolled up in the back of his head, while a tentacle erupting from the Nestoriel’s abdomen was shoved down his throat, and that wasn’t even the worst of it all.

The worst was that his friend looked like a full-on balloon animal minus the fun shapes. His belly was bulging outwards like he was carrying triplets or maybe octuplets or something in between. His inflated belly was all lumpy and getting lumpier as the demon buried all its eggs in its guts.

Rey’s mind was already coming up with all the pregnant jokes that he would torture Ajay with, but for that to happen, he would have to save him first.

“Unhand the not-so-fair bachelor, foul beast!” Rey proclaimed. The Nestoriel ignored Ajay’s shining knight in no armor. “Do not dump your load in Ajay’s guts.”

He chuckled at his own joke, but the demon could not give two shits. Since the demon was busy, Rey figured he needed to make it pay attention.

He raised a hand and used Gravitational Attraction on the tentacle that was going down Ajay’s throat. A second later, the tentacle was ripped out of his throat. Ajay threw up a clear, viscous fluid, which sent a shiver up Rey’s spine, and then his friend promptly passed out.

“Ew! That was inside you.” Rey did his best impression of an elementary school teenage girl.

He more than had the demon’s attention now. Even though it did not have a face, Rey could tell the thing was not happy with him. Its belly had deflated somewhat, but it still had a lot of its eggs in its pouch. He figured that it wanted to finish what it had started before Rey rudely gave it blue balls.

He hated it too when he was about to finish, while he was in the middle of some me time, and someone barged into his room. Growing up, he had a few close calls with his grandmother, and it got pretty awkward after that.

What was happening between the demon and him was not awkward. It was anything but.

The Nestoriel roared so loud it made the walls shake.

Rey frowned at that. “I thought you lot only shrieked at best. No, wait, you females do roar. Okay, Ms. Cockroachface Eggplant…er. Let’s begin our dance.”

The Nestoriel launched all its tails at Rey. He didn’t even bother dodging, as there was no point in dodging. The thing would have gripped him, and then it probably would have been game over for Rey.

A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.

Instead, he let the tails come close and activated Gravitational Repulsion. The tails shot away from Rey as if he had the modern plague—Coronavirus.

One of the tails, the one closest to the walls, was dragged along its length, making the oversized insect jitter. Rey took the time to dash for the demon, but it recovered faster than he would’ve liked.

It swiped its claws at him, but he brought up his scythe to intercept. He caught the blow on the blade, but the weapon was nearly wrenched from his hands. He brought it up just in time to block the next blow and was put on the back foot, as the demon pushed him back.

  Rey checked his Mana.

  [Mana: 64/170]

He gritted his teeth. Why is my Mana always so fucking low when I need it the most?

He had to conserve it yet again and play it smart. By now, he should have gotten used to it, but nope, just when Rey thought he was good, a dire situation reared its ugly head.

He blasted the demon with a small Repulsion wave to create some distance between them. It gave him just enough room to slash at Nestoriel’s abdomen, but the demon turned in time to take the blow on its back.

The demon made a mistake by doing that. Rey slashed wildly with his sickle weapon and cut off two of its tails. The demon shrieked and staggered forward. Rey almost used Attraction, but it snapped its tail and whipped Rey in the chest. He flew off his feet and skidded across the floor, but somehow kept his grip on his scythe.

His back burned with pain. He could feel it was scratched and bloody. He peeled himself off the floor, groaning all the while. The demon was on him in a heartbeat. The demon slashed with all its ferocity, and Rey did his best to throw the thing off him, but it was too mad.

With no other option, he blasted another Repulsion wave, which rocked the demon. He put enough force behind it that the demon was blasted back.

He took a moment to catch his breath, and then he lunged for the demon, trying to slice off one of its legs. But all he managed to do was nick it, and the demon staggered to the side, which gave Rey the momentum he needed.

He used Attraction and made the demon’s left shoulder attracted to the ground. The thing toppled over, and Rey jumped on it, swinging his scythe in an overhead arc and burying it deep within its belly.

The Nestoriel shrieked, and Rey pulled upwards as he gave the demon a surprise c-section—with zero anesthesia and way too much enthusiasm. Its eggs spilled out on the cave floor, while the demon thrashed under Rey, trying to free itself or just squirming in pain. Rey couldn’t really tell.

“That’s for not asking consent from my friend before you blasted your eggs all over his innards.”

The demon’s response was nothing but more shrieking and writhing.

Rey had to stop his skill at some point, or he would waste his Mana altogether. But before he stopped his Attraction skill, he raised the scythe high in the air and brought it down on the creature’s head. He thought he had this fight in the bag, but at the last moment, the demon’s tail flashed, and Rey was sent flying through the air.

He didn’t know which side was up for a good minute until he crashed against the cave floor. Somehow, he had landed right beside Ajay.

“Oh man, this thing doesn’t go down without a fight, eh?” Rey asked his unconscious friend, who, of course, couldn’t reply to him, but something in his belly moved, which wasn’t a good sign. Unless he had developed the ability to move his abs around, he would say that it was the eggs inside him that were rumbling around.

His expanded gut looked like it had lost a bet with physics. The good thing was that Rey had taken some meager payback from the Nestoriel by ripping out its gut. Now he had to finish off the mother demon before it used Rey’s body parts to sew up its belly.

The Nestoriel rose, its open belly dragging across the rocky ground. Its face had ‘deeply inconvenienced murder machine’ written all over it.

It roared, and Rey had to cover his ears or he figured he would lose his eardrums.

He decided to shut this egg lover for good, but before he could do anything, one of the demon’s tails wrapped around his midsection and picked him up off the ground. It squeezed until Rey couldn’t breathe any longer.

He pulled his dagger out and stabbed the dark tail. Foul-smelling blood sprayed out of the tentacle, the monster shrieked, and smashed Rey into the ground, or tried to anyhow.

He used Repulsion on the ground, and no matter how hard the Nestoriel tried, it couldn’t smash him into the ground. He swung his scythe and cut off the tail. But this time, the demon didn’t shriek or scream for long. It slashed open a wound in Rey’s chest as he landed.

He cried out and jumped back, holding the seeping wound. He hoped it looked worse than it was, but it also made him absolutely livid.

The demon came for him, hoping to finish Rey off, but he was done playing with this cockroach.

He unleashed such an intense Repulsion wave that even the small rocks and pebbles on the ground shot away from him. The Nestoriel flew into the opposite wall. Rey extended a hand and clenched it into a fist as he used Attraction, and the demon flew back to him. He buried his scythe deep into his open gut. There was a hacking sound coming from the demon, but Rey wasn’t done.

He threw the demon into the wall with another Repulsion. There was a sickening crunch, as if biting into a crunchy piece of fried chicken. He recalled the demon again and this time slashed open the thing’s chest, leaving a bloody gash that splayed out its organs. He threw it back at the wall again and then recalled it a final time to cut off the demon’s head.

The bear-sized, cockroach-like demon proved to be a true cockroach, as it didn’t entirely die even when its head was cut off. It dropped to the ground and twitched some more, its tails constricting and flailing about.

“Oh, you fucking things are weird as fuck,” Rey cringed, before moving for his still unconscious friend, leaving the demon to bleed out there.

He checked the wound on his chest. It was bleeding, but he would survive, or so he hoped. Still, to be sure, he pulled off his shirt, rolled it up, and tied it tightly around his wound. He grunted as the pain spiked for a moment. By the time he sat beside Ajay, the demon finally died.

“What are we going to do about your demon babies?” He spoke. “Last time we went hunting, you almost left your babies in a demon, and this time a demon left theirs in you. Kinda funny, no?”

His friend didn’t reply. He was about to slap him awake when a scream sounded from the tunnel—a very human scream.

Rey snapped up to his feet in a heartbeat. He was about to run towards the tunnel when he heard footsteps pounding down the tunnel, and not just regular human footsteps. He gripped his scythe tightly, and a moment later, Kassandra and a badly injured Filomena burst through into the cavern.

Right behind them was the female Nestoriel, who had captured Filomena and did not look happy. Well, who would if they had an arrow sticking out of their eye?

“You guys sure know how to liven up the place,” Rey commented.

The demon roared as it saw its mutilated sister.
