Chapter 57 – Never Believe A Word I Say

Rey waited for his opponent to get off the ground, which it took its sweet time doing. He could've gone to the washroom and taken all the time he wanted to relieve himself and sit on the phone for a good half hour, and still the goat man would've been on the ground fixing its bloody nose.

One would think that Rey dislocated his jaw, but no, it was just smashed a little and bleeding profusely, which, if one asked Rey's opinion, did wonders for his looks.

Tekymal's bloodthirsty eyes turned to Rey. "You will pay for that. I will rape your corpse before I rip it to shreds and eat your soul."

"Man, you satyrs and your lusty appetites." Rey shook his head. "Succubuses have a bad name for no reason, when it's your people that are the true sex demons."

Rey wasn't lying. They had a habit of violating their victims before they feasted on their flesh. Sometimes they feasted on them while they violated them. They were just horny beyond all measures. Only a horny teenager who had just learned his pecker's true purpose could match these things in hornyness.

Tekymal shook his head, huffed, and charged at Rey. If he hadn't fought this demon before, the demon's speed would've taken him by surprise, but not this time.

Rey clicked on the silver orb embedded in his scythe and frowned when nothing happened. He clicked it a couple of times before realizing that his Runic skill was still down because the goat had used it on him.

At the last possible second, he activated Gravitaitional Attraction and pulled himself out of the way of the charging goat that went by like a freight train with horns.

Rey had wasted his time pressing the Runic skill, or he could've used his dagger and left a nice cut along the satyr's side. The demon looked like he would've crashed into one of the pillars, but he jumped at the last minute, landed on the pillar, and pushed off with his hoofs. The demon flew at him like he was auditioning for Fast & Furious: Hell Drift.

Tekymal laughed in triumph, but it came out more in a baying sound. Rey would've been in trouble if he didn't have gravity on his side. He activated Gravitational Repulsion, and the Flying Goat Wonder shot back in the same direction it had come from.

The satyr went rolling through the air and towards the two girls it had tied up between the pillars. Much to Rey's disappointment, it didn't crush Tia. Though the look of horror on the wicked girl's face was so worth it.

Tekymal finally came to a stop, with a vicious look on his face. His nose was bleeding even worse now. He reached out and gripped Tia's shirt. The girl squirmed and tried to kick the demon's arm, but her leg didn't go anywhere near it. Tekymal grunted lightly and ripped off a piece of Tia's shirt, leaving it in tatters, pretty much exposing the girl. Fortunately, she was wearing a bra, or she would've had nothing covering her.

Tia's face screamed bloody murder. "How dare you? I'm going to kill you!" she screamed like a banshee. "I'll rip you to shreds."

Tekymal wiped his face with the piece of Tia's shirt, totally unfazed. Then, without even looking, he punched her in the face.

"Shut up, bitch," Tekymal said, before turning to Rey.

If Rey were still a demon, he wouldn't have given two shits about Tia, but since he had his soul back, this didn't sit right with him. Even if it was Tia, but she was still a girl, and no girl deserved to have her clothes ripped off like that, even if she were a wicked demoness.

Stupid fucking soul. Demon Rey cursed, who had been sleeping for some time now.

He felt that as time went by, his demon side had stopped commenting on stuff and that it was going away, but as it turned out, it hadn't entirely gone away. In a way, it was good because he knew there was going to be a time when he would need it very soon, especially now that he was alone.

"You know, mister satyr, I think you've lived long enough." He held out his scythe and pointed to the demon and activated Gravity's Domain underneath his feet.

Before his skill dropped him to the floor, Tekymal jumped away to safety. Rey didn't know what had prompted such a reaction, but maybe this demon wasn't as dumb as Rey knew him to be. The demon jumped around the room, never staying in one spot for more than a second, so that Rey couldn't pin it down.

He was really missing his lightning skills right now. He would've lit up this place like a hurricane, which was another thing he could've summoned. Don't think about it, Rey. Gravity is better. Think about when you can create black holes at will.

Or he hoped he could create black holes one day. After all, the description of the gravity element said that he could, but he had no time to think about that.

Rey jumped to the side, just as Tekymal crash landed where Rey was. The marble cracked under the demon's hoofs.

Rey swung his scythe, hoping to cut off his head, but all he managed to get was a few hairs off its mane, as he jumped away again. He gritted his teeth and thrust his hand out, pointed at the demon, and activated Gravitational Repulsion.

His attack landed, and the demon was thrown off course. He crashed against the wall with a loud grunt. Rey activated Gravity's Kiss, and the demon flew towards him as if he were a rag doll embedded with a big iron rod stuck through his backside.

Rey readied his scythe and stabbed him in his side. It cried out as dark blood splayed out of his side.

"How's that?" Rey said. "Not as easy as ripping off a girl's clothes, eh?"

Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.

Tekymal gritted his bloody teeth and punched at him, but he ducked, swiped his scythe's shaft at the demon's goat legs, and tripped it. The goat man tumbled to the ground. Rey stood over it, ready to finish it off, when the demon gripped Rey's leg and pulled him off his feet.

He dropped to the ground, groaning. The demon was on top of him in a second. Rey felt like Hector when he was facing Achilles, and fell to the ground because of a rock, but Hector didn't have gravity skills.

Rey activated Gravitational Repulsion and shot the demon away. He crashed into the pillar to which Tia was tied. Dust rose into the air, blocking the view, but it gave Rey enough time to get to his feet.

"Oh no! I did too much!" Rey nearly pulled his hair off. He surveyed the settling dust and sighed in relief when he saw the succubus was unharmed.

"Oh, thank god." He breathed out in relief. He winked at the bewildered succubus. "Don't worry, beautiful, I would never let anything happen to you."

After all, she was the real prize here. He couldn't let her get hurt. Everything else could burn in a dumpster fire, and he couldn't give a rat's ass about it, especially the other two demons.

The shattered column shifted, and the sound of rocks shifting and falling echoed through the hall, followed by a shrill scream, which no doubt came from a certain blonde demon. He was no longer a demon, but he couldn't help but feel some satisfaction from seeing that selfish woman in pain.

Tekymal stood and dusted off his mane. His hands were clenched into fists, and he was literally shaking in anger. It was hard to read the expression on his face as Rey wasn't adept at reading the expressions of a goat.

Besides, he wasn't focused on the goat demon. He was watching something else—the treacherous woman was pinned under a marble column. Tia struggled to free herself, but no matter how much she squirmed, she couldn't free herself.

But then the mother-cuddling goat slammed its hoof into the marble like a toddler denied dessert. Rey didn't think he meant to do it on purpose, but the column rolled off the blonde and freed her from her predicament…mostly.

Tia was free, save for her right arm, which was still pinned under the column.

Rey giggled. "Need a hand, Tia?"

  "Fuck off!" She snarled.

Rey had to turn his attention back to the horny goat man, who was about to charge at him full tilt, but then, at the last moment, it jumped to its throne. It was amazing the distance he covered. It must've been twenty or thirty feet, but he covered it in one jump.

Then he reached for something behind the throne and pulled out a shiny spear with a golden shaft and a steel blade. The demon's expression didn't change much, but there was a feral nature to his glare.

Why do I get the feeling the tutorial's over and the boss music just started?

Rey clicked the silver orb on his staff and activated Gravity's Kiss. He had targeted only the spear, but the goat boy, it seemed, was determined not to lose his spear. Tekymal held onto it for dear life as he was dragged towards Rey. As he got closer, he switched the position of the spear and aimed the pointy end towards Rey.

Rey stopped Gravity's Kiss immediately, and Tekymal jumped up and fell towards him, ready to skewer him through with his spear.

He almost activated Repulsion, but decided to let the goat get a little closer. Rey rolled away at the last possible second and activated Gravity's Domain just for Mr. Satyr. Tekymal crashed to the ground, ready to be sent off into the great nothing that awaited all demons.

Rey swung his scythe around in contemplation. "Now, how should I butcher this goat? Any idea, ladies?"

"Just kill him," the succubus shrieked. There was a wild look in her eyes. Rey didn't even want to know what the poor thing must've endured. Satyrs were sadistic when they got going. If a succubus was this vengeful, then this thing was one of the worst ones.

"What is this?" Tekymal groaned as he fought to get on his feet.

"This is a love letter from the ground to you. It just can't stand to let you go."

"I'm going to skin you alive and—"

"How about we dispense with the threats"? Rey interjected. "Because you're not going to last very long to come through on them."

Rey walked the edge of Domain's circle, dragging his scythe on the floor as a struggling goat man watched with wide, terrified eyes. In this moment, he looked more goat than man, and there was only one place Rey liked goats—in his belly.

  "Time to say—"

Rey never got to finish his sentence as the satyr swung his spear in an arc and smashed it into Rey's ankles. Where the fucking goat got that much strength from was a mystery, and one that he didn't have time to solve right now.

He crashed to the ground, hard, slamming his lower back on a small stone that shot pain up his back. He groaned as he adjusted his back and threw out the rock from under him. He had just become comfortable when a sharp pain erupted in his shoulder.

  Why?

Because the satyr had jammed his spear in it.

Rey had to hand it to the satyr. He hadn't even expected the demon to be able to move, let alone do an attack such as this. But then again, it was Rey's fault for getting cocky. This demon was the boss of the dungeon, after all.

Rey ripped out the spear and rolled away from the demon, taking his spear with him. He stood with a shaky step as his shoulder screamed with even the slightest movement. There was no point in prolonging this fight.

"I would like to ask any last words, but since you were so rude as to stab me in the shoulder, I don't want to give you that chance," Rey said. "However, I am not heartless. I will give you one last chance to atone for your sin of fucking up my shoulder. Tell me where you're hiding your treasure, and I will let you leave this place."

Tekymal scoffed. "As if I'd fall for that."

"I'm not a demon, remember. You can take me at my word, and if you don't believe me, ask that treacherous blondie how I fought to protect my friends. I am a trustworthy fellow."

Tekymal looked to Tia, and she huffed, looking away, which the goat demon took as confirmation.

"My treasure is in a compartment at the foot of my throne," Tekymal said. "Now, let me go."

"Thank you," Rey beamed, looking at the throne.

"Turn this off," the goat snarled. "You said you would let me go."

"Yes, I did." Rey turned his attention back to the pinned-down demon. He would have to end this fast, as his Mana was just about spent. "You see, I never said I would let you leave this place alive."

  "But you did say that?"

Rey cocked his head. "Did I?"

  "You did," Tekymal said.

  Rey shrugged. "I lied."

The goat's eyes widened. "You… You're no better than a demon."

"That's right," Rey exclaimed. "A demon should never believe a word I say."

With that, he hurled goat boy's spear at him and sped it up with Repulsion. The thing flew like a missile. Even Rey had a hard time tracking its movement. One moment it was in the air, and the next, it was sticking out of the satyr's head. Thanks to Gravity's Domain, the spear slammed into the ground, twisting the dead demon's head in an unnatural motion. Its neck ripped open, leaking out black blood in droves.

"Yeesh, that's gruesome." Rey turned off his skill and rubbed his hands together. "Time to see what the dearly departed boss left me."
