Chapter 34 - Wonders of the World

Eclipse and Chael sat on the floor, their eyes lit up with determination as they looked at Celestia, who was sitting atop the cottage porch.

"What kind of training are we doing today?” Eclipse asked lazily, “And why do you have all of those scrolls?"

Sure enough, next to Celestia was a pile of large scrolls. She briefly took her gaze and patted her hand over it, “I’m going to be teaching you, of course."

The duo raised their eyebrows, "Teaching?"

"That’s right. It doesn’t matter how strong you get - if you’re dumb as a rock, you won’t make it anywhere in this world.” Celestia nodded seriously, “I’ll teach you about the various lands in this world we live in and take you through their kingdoms, culture and hierarchy!”

"Oh, kingdoms?" Chael said in surprise and sat up in anticipation, "That’s interesting."

"What a pain in the ass." Eclipse yawned as he slowly drifted into sleep. Celestia smiled bitterly, then flicked a pebble at his forehead.

"Aww…" Eclipse groaned as his head flung back. He brought his head back down and then glared at her, a red mark on his forehead.

"Don't gimme that look! No one sleeps in my class!" Celestia huffed, "Don't worry, this will just take a day because I'll only teach you the basics that you need to know for now."

“Get it over and done with…” Eclipse groaned.

Celestia jumped down from the porch and stood in front of them with a stick in hand, "First of all, I'll tell you kids about the seven great regions of this world."

"Seven great regions?" Chael asked with interest.

"Yes, this world is split into seven regions..." Celestia explained, then drew three horizontal segments with her stick while the duo listened attentively, "Firstly, up north is Misty Glaze, a region that is terrifyingly cold with snow all year round. The entire region is split into three, with the human population concentrated in the middle one. This central section is what is known as the Misty Glaze Kingdom!”

Celestia said grimly, then tapped the on either side of what was supposed to be the Misty Glaze Kingdom, “As for the other two parts, well, the southern side is a highly restricted military zone, and the northern part is mostly empty space, and to be honest, I don’t know why.”

The two absorbed the information with interest.

“Secondly, located lower west, is the Burning Ash region. It is filled with scorching deserts and volcanoes! This place is home to a massive species called, uhhh, amongst other normal human beings. Normal? Probably not normal, actually. They have a crazy passion for fighting. Speaking of, colosseum culture reigns supreme there, too."

Chael’s eyebrows twitched. “Called what, Granny?”

Celestia looked really thoughtful, and her face scrunched in concentration. She scratched her head with the stick and said, sticking her tongue out, “I forgot.”

Eclipse's eyebrow elevated slightly the more he heard Celestia talk. He wasn’t someone who was easily interested, but at this moment, there was a pulling desire to explore these places, "Such places exist…?"

Chael was facepalming at Celestia’s tomfoolery when an especially important question arose in his mind: "What kind of girls are there in these places?"

"Find out one day when you actually go there.” Celestia laughed, then moved the stick downward and drew another shape, “Thirdly, towards the southeast we have the Emerald Falls, a region filled with lush vegetation, rainforests and exotic plants and animals.”

  “Whoa.” Chael mouthed.

“The Emerald Falls is the only great region which is run by a matriarchy.” Celestia explained, “They’re ruthless and have a strict order. Especially so towards men.”

  “But what's the reason?”

“I dunno. Just be extra careful when you try to get with their women.” Celestia laughed, “Else you might wake up with something missing.”

  Chael’s playful face turned ashen.

“Now then, located in the northeast, we have the Azure Atlantis." Celestia pointed her stick at an empty area on the map.

This tale has been unlawfully obtained from Royal Road. If you discover it on Amazon, kindly report it.

Eclipse looked to where Celestia was pointing and raised a brow. "There's nothing there."

"That's because it seems just like an ocean above land, but under water lies an entire region,” Celestia said, and she dug a few inches deep into the earth with her stick to emphasise its location. “This place has the best seafood…”

"I haven’t tried proper seafood in a long time…" Chael salivated as he pictured a platter surrounded by glistening seafood.

Eclipse looked a bit confused, "If it's located underwater, then how can people breathe. Is it a region for fish or what?"

  Chael frowned at this, too.

"There's a barrier surrounding the region. To people living there, it would just be normal, because as long as you pass the barrier, you will be granted the ability to walk underwater as easily as you are now. You won't feel like you're breathing underwater, and it will feel just as natural as if you breathe air. And instead of birds, they'll be fish and other exotic sea animals floating around instead. Also, their people are… a bit unique.”

  “Huh? How so?” Chael asked.

“Kahah, you’ll find out when you get there one day! Where’s the fun if I spoil everything now?”

Eclipse and Chael grunted at her in displeasure.

“Whatever. How do you even know all this?” Eclipse asked.

  “I’ve been there, y’know! I'm a traveller! I live for experiences, kahahah!”

"That sounds so nice," Chael replied longingly.

"Riiight~" Celestia laughed, then carried on, "Up fifth, we move on to the richest of them all, Kingsman Empire. Located lower west, it is a place so rich that castles and mansions embroidered in gold and diamonds could be considered commonplace - in the heart of the empire at least. I know it’s bad to generalise, but a lot of the guys in this empire tend to be snobbish and arrogant, so bear with them, especially the young masters, kahah. The main force of the Kingsman Empire comes from their Six Knightly Orders, and they’re nothing to scoff at. "

"Hmm…" Chael hummed, but neither of them seemed too impressed.

Celestia carried on, “Don’t think little of them just because they drown in wealth! A single knight from the Kingsman Empire would be given all the possible training required from the best masters across this world, and they’re armed with armours and weapons refined to the highest quality.”

Then, her face darkened a little, which unsettled the duo, “But they also have a darker side…”

  “Huh, what dark si-”

Before Chael finished his sentence, Celestia cut him off and carried on with the lesson, scraping away at her makeshift map of the earth.

"And last but not least, located right at the centre." She took her stick over to the centre and pointed at a region which was twice as large as the others, "We have the biggest region of all, and the strongest."

Eclipse and Chael became focused when she mentioned 'strongest'. This word had piqued their interest the most for some reason.

"Cloud Nine!" She said, "The most feared region! It’s the most mysterious and powerful at the same time."

  "Why?" Chael asked.

Celestia's face turned dark and solemn… then turned to confusion. She scratched her head, "I dunno to be honest. In my opinion, they’re just a bunch of weaklings. I don't really get why they're so feared, kahaha!"

  "Huuuuh?”

Eclipse yawned and didn’t bother hiding his disappointment, "How boring."

"Honestly, it's all just rumours and legends," Celestia continued with a mischievous glint in her eye.

"But who knows, maybe there's some truth to it. They say Cloud Nine is home to ancient technology and hidden powers that even I probably haven't witnessed in all my years of travelling.” Celestia then thought for a bit before she reached into her breasts once more and pulled out a small, white rock. “This is called the Moonrock of the Twelve Heavens. It’s my souvenir from the last time I visited Cloud Nine! Apparently, it belonged to a forgotten priestess of an abandoned ghostly temple! Isn’t that cool!”

Eclipse looked absolutely devastated. His eyes twitched horribly, “Granny… uhh - by any chance, how much did you buy it for?”

“Oh, a few thousand krecos,” Celestia said proudly.

Eclipse’s eyes twitched more uncontrollably. ‘This hag definitely got swindled!’

Eclipse was about to say something when Celestia shot Chael a glance, “Yes, Chael?”

Chael, however, looked very serious. His face was grim, and a very dark shade was cast over his eyes, resembling a man who was driving himself to madness by contemplating the forbidden depths of philosophy. He was solemnly raising a hand.

  “How big are your breasts?”

  The session carried on.

Eclipse, for the first time, swallowed nervously and gave Chael a side glance. Chael sat still in the same position with the same grim expression, except this time, there was a massive tower of bumps on his head.

Eclipse then shook off all the stupidity of the past few moments, then turned his gaze back to Celestia, "What about the Bloodmoon Region? Where is it on the map?"

"Don't worry, I wasn't finished.” Celestia said, and her tone grew serious once more, “And finally, far into the west, lies the Blood Moon Region… or Bloodmoon Kingdom once upon a time."

  Eclipse’s eyes widened, "Bloodmoon kingdom?"

“Bloodmoon is one of these Great Regions?”

Celestia nodded at their surprise, “Long ago, our Bloodmoon Region used to be the apex of order, and all the other kingdoms would bend to its will.”

“Even Cloud Nine?” Chael asked curiously.

“All of them.” Celestia continued, “But, due to a certain incident which led to a lot of chain of events, the Bloodmoon Region has been reduced to a place that isn’t even worth being mentioned in the same breath as the other regions.”

“What chain of events?” Eclipse asked.

“That’s a story for another time.” Celestia smiled before she reached for the pile of scrolls and scattered them in front of the duo, “For now, you brats will learn as much as you can about the current world we live in and its state of affairs.”

Eclipse lazily eyed the scroll, “I’ve already read about half of these.”

  “Haha, good for you.”

Chael was already going through a scroll written by a seamstress, and he stopped at a section which showed a woman in nothing except her undergarments, “Interesting.”

“Anyways, I’ll leave you kids to it.” Celestia said before turning to leave, “Consider today a rest day since you’re just getting into the swing of things.”

“Yeah, alright, Granny,” Eclipse muttered under his breath, already drifting out of consciousness, but was promptly brought back as he felt Celestia’s slipper slap his face.

  “It’s BIG SISTER!”
