Chapter 13 — The Call of the Goddess

  [System][We need to talk]

Kai blinked once, twice. The blue screen floated in front of him like an insistent ghost, cutting through the dimness of the stone room.

Katherine y beside him, still naked, her body rexed against the rough straw. Her breasts pressed slightly into the makeshift bed, rising and falling with deep, serene breaths.

Kai felt a knot in his stomach; he wanted to sleep, to wrap himself in that post-orgasm warmth and forget the world for a few hours.

Why? I'm sleepy, robot, he muttered mentally, rubbing his eyes with the back of his hand.

  [System][Urgent, Ka

"Okay, okay… but you're already sending me messages. Just tell me now," he thought, propping himself up a little on one elbow. The straw crunched under his weight, but Katherine didn't stir.

[System][You have to sleep for that]

Kai sighed, gncing sideways again. Katherine looked so vulnerable there, ears rexed and mouth slightly open in deep sleep.

"Fine, I'm closing my eyes, robot," he thought, settling back down.

He stretched an arm to cover her with a piece of bnket, accidentally brushing her hip. She murmured something incoherent but didn't wake.

He closed his eyes. Everything turned pitch bck, an absolute void that wrapped around him like a heavy bnket.

"Well, was that it? Just staring at absolute bck?" he asked out loud, his voice echoing in the nothingness.

Automatically, the world shifted. The bck dissolved like mist, revealing an entirely white room, infinite in every direction.

The walls—if there were any—glowed with ethereal light, no shadows, no edges. Kai stood up unsteadily; the floor felt solid yet immaterial beneath his bare feet.

"What the hell?" he excimed, spinning around.

In front of him, a rge door materialized out of nowhere, carved from gleaming ivory with intertwined feline motifs. It opened with a soft whisper.

From it emerged a woman. No, not just any woman.

She had generous hips that swayed with divine grace as she walked, and rge breasts that showed clearly beneath an almost transparent tunic, inspired by Greek goddesses but with an otherworldly touch.

The fabric flowed like water, leaving little to the imagination: perfect curves, skin pale as moonlight, and an aura that made the air vibrate around her.

Her white hair cascaded down to her waist, and her silver eyes shone with ancient intelligence.

Kai's mouth fell open; he couldn't move. She's… she's beautiful.

The woman—the goddess—approached with slow steps, her bare feet making no sound on the white floor.

She extended an elegant hand, pointing to a pair of plush golden armchairs that appeared out of nowhere. "Well, sit down and let's talk about your goal," she said in a soft, warm voice.

Her silver eyes fixed on him. As she spoke, she toyed with a strand of her white hair, twirling it around a finger with a subtle smile.

"But…" Kai swallowed hard, his voice coming out nervous."What's your name and who are you?"

The goddess looked straight into his eyes, tilting her head slightly. Her lips curved into a serene smile as she sat in one of the armchairs, crossing her legs with elegance.

The tunic clung to her curves, and she adjusted the hem with delicate fingers.

"My name is Nyara, the cat goddess of this world," she answered in a divine tone.

She tapped the armrest lightly with her nails.

"Nice to meet you, Goddess Nyara," Kai said, proceeding to sit in the other armchair.

  It's way too comfortable.

He leaned forward, staring at her intently.

What is she going to tell me? he thought, his pulse racing.

Nyara reclined a little, resting her chin on her hand while she observed him.

"Your goal will be to conquer this world," she decred with a faint smile.

Kai blinked rapidly, mouth open in shock. He straightened in the chair, hands gripping the armrests.

  "Conquer this world?"

"Yes," she continued, rising fluidly and walking around his chair, the tunic rippling.

She touched his shoulder as she passed, an electric brush that made him shiver.

"I gave you the chance to be reborn in this world." She stopped in front of him, crossing her arms under her breasts, emphasizing her figure.

  Chance? Kai thought.

He scratched the back of his neck, fragments of his previous life fshing back.

"Since the truth is you were quite mediocre in your old world," Nyara added. She moved to a window that appeared in the white wall, gazing at an ethereal ndscape of clouds and stars.

"Most gods didn't want to accept you and almost sent you to hell."

Hell? Shit, was I really that bad? Kai thought, feeling a chill. He stood up too, approaching her.

You've got a point… I only worked enough to eat and sleep. Yeah, I was pretty mediocre…

Nyara turned toward him, her silver eyes gleaming. She extended a hand and gently touched his forehead, sending a wave of warmth through him.

"So yes, you did it. I hope you appreciate this gift from your new goddess in this new world." She withdrew her hand and sat again, gesturing for him to do the same.

"Yes… thank you so much. Honestly, now I have a beautiful girlfriend and a potential great subordinate like Ivark," Kai replied, sitting back down.

  He leaned forward, eager.

  "But… conquer? How?"

Nyara smiled more broadly, pying with the edge of her tunic.

"You will be my champion and I order you to conquer this world. I will be watching you."

She rose once more, walking toward the door, her white hair floating slightly.

"Use the system. Build. Dominate. Do not disappoint me."

Kai opened his mouth to ask more, but the white room began to fade. The bck returned, enveloping him.

He woke with a start in the stone room, heart pounding hard. The straw pricked his back. He blinked, adjusting to the dim light.

Katherine was awake, straddling him again.

Her eyes glowed in the darkness, pupils dited into slits.

She stared at him intently, like a cat stalking its prey, her tail moving slowly and predatorily behind her.
