Two days later…
10 AM…
Inside Aditya’s cabin…
A beautifully wrapped gift box was placed on Aditya’s table.
As Anamika kept the box there, a gentle smile appeared on her face.
In her heart, she whispered, “I hope you like this gift…”
She turned to leave, and near the door, she saw Ruhi.
Ruhi smiled. “So, shall we go now, Lady Boss? We also need to pick up Ira!”
“Yes,” Anamika said with a smile, walking out with her.
Inside the lift, Ruhi playfully asked, “By the way, it wasn’t necessary to give him the gift today. You could’ve given it to him tomorrow yourself, no?”
Anamika replied, “Yes, but… I don’t know, I just felt like I should give it to him today.
He’s not here anyway!
And who goes out of the city for work on their birthday?!”
Ruhi gave a strange smile.
“You’re right. No one does.”
And in her mind she thought, “Ugh! I really hate lying to Lady Boss… But Saaniya told me not to tell her that Aditya sir is actually here.
She said he just doesn’t want to celebrate his birthday today for some reason.
And she strictly said… Lady Boss must NOT know why.
Maybe because… mentally, she’s still fragile.”
Lost in those thoughts, the lift reached the ground floor.
As they stepped outside, they noticed a crowd gathered near the company gate.
If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
They walked closer and saw the security guards stopping a man from entering.
The man appeared drunk, his steps unsteady.
It was none other than Yuvraj Singh.
He was shouting, “Call your cheap boss!
The man who keeps a father away from his son! Call that bastard!”
Ruhi stepped forward and snapped, “What’s happening here?! Who are you, Mister?
And why are you creating this useless drama?”
Yuvraj gave a hateful smile.
“Hey girl… I said call your boss! That worthless bastard man who snatched everything from me—”
Before he could finish, a sharp slap landed on his cheek, and he fell to the ground.
Ruhi pulled out a tissue, wiped her hand calmly, and ordered the guards, “Take him away from the company.
If he comes back and creates this drama again, hand him over to the police.”
She grabbed Anamika’s hand and muttered while walking away, “God knows where these cheap drunkards crawl from… always creating a scene.”
Meanwhile, Anamika kept looking at the fallen man…
Yuvraj stared back with eyes full of anger and hatred, cursing Ruhi and Aditya,
but Ruhi ignored him completely and dragged Anamika away.
Inside the car, Ruhi took a deep breath, forced a cheerful smile on her lips, and said, “Let’s forget we even saw something like that, Lady Boss!
Come on, let’s go enjoy this fun day!”
Anamika smiled back.
But the excitement didn’t last long.
At Aniket’s house… where they had come to pick up Ira, Anamika’s mood dropped instantly.
Ira was lying on her bed in her room.
The girl who always chirped like a little bird… didn’t even want to get off her bed today.
Seeing her like that, Ruhi thought, “So THIS is what Aditya sir meant when he said she’d be upset today… He wants us to cheer her up the whole day. But how?!
And honestly… It makes sense. Ira loves her parents deeply.”
Anamika, who knew nothing about the truth,
didn’t understand why Ira was behaving this way.
She thought Ira was sick, so she sat beside her and touched her forehead to check if she had a fever.
She didn’t.
Ira looked at her and asked softly, “Why are you worried about me, Anamika…?”
Anamika replied, “Because you’re my little sunshine… If you fall sick, my whole sky would get filled with clouds.”
Ira smiled a little.
“By the way… today is my brother's birthday! Isn’t he coming, delicate flower?”
Anamika said, “He’s out of the city for work.”
Ira stood up, hiding a heartbroken tiny smile.
“Oh… really?”
Looking at Anamika’s innocent and unaware expression, she thought, “You know nothing… and you don’t need to know.
Instead of sharing my horrible reality, why don’t I spend today living a beautiful dream with you?”
She smiled and got off the bed.
“I’ll go freshen up. Till then Ruhi, look for a nice place where we can go out today and have fun!”
Ruhi blinked in surprise.
“Y-Yes, okay!”
In her mind, she thought, “Naive and stubborn… yet understanding, just like Aditya sir. Both siblings would do anything to keep Anamika happy.”
Meanwhile, outside the room
Every year on this day, Ira became gloomy,
remembering the accident that happened six years ago involving her and her parents.
Shekhar always stayed beside her on this day so she would never break.
He was like a guardian, for both Ira and Aditya.
He knew Aditya could handle himself.
He had Aniket—his friend, his support.
And Shekhar trusted his son completely to not let Aditya fall apart.
That’s why Shekhar had taken Ira’s responsibility without anyone asking.
Now that he saw someone was there for Ira today… a small smile appeared on his lips.
He quietly walked away.
Just then, he saw Aniket approaching him.
Noticing the smile, Aniket asked,“What happened, Dad? You’re… smiling?”
“Nothing. Let’s go to the office.”
Shekhar said simply and walked ahead.
Aniket watched him go and thought, “Really? Alright then… let’s go to the office.”
And he followed behind.
