007 REWRITING HISTORY

Emotional intelligence, self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy and social skills vs intellectual intelligence. The rational part of our thinking, perceiving, problem solving and understanding.

These are the sets required for a person to be able to fully function in this society. No way one can survive by ignoring its existence. It’s impossible! It’s true that we all are born with all of these qualities but not everyone has the circumstances to develop them all.

Children are pretty clever at picking up information. As their brain still hasn't developed and still are growing it is possible to hone all of these skills in them but it does require a lot of effort, especially when that child is also pressed to learn everything else meantime. To get all of these qualities in a person one should overgo a hell of training. In most cases it would involve sacrificing the time for a child to be a child. A special method of learning with a special schedule and personal attention from either a parent or a teacher.

The way this society is now makes people busy all the time and it’s impossible for every child to have this attention to hone their skills perfectly and accordingly. As well, everyone has different traits, so it’s impossible to formulate one specific way to guide everyone to get the best value for their person in the settings that are regular school systems. Some children will always be deprived of something. Overlooked, assessed wrongly, some even being cast aside because they don’t know how to approach situations.

People like to preach about equality and having all the same access for everything in this world but truth is in this. There is no such a thing. We are not equal, not even close. There are people in life who can and those who can’t. There exist humans whose lives greatly benefited our next generations and those who brought great destruction, or the ones who simply didn’t benefit anything at all.

In history IQ measure was something people believed to be the one test that told apart those exceptional individuals but later only disregarded that this method didn’t work. Intelligent people who were measured high on this test tended to have one flaw. Lack of empathy and not possessing awareness of emotional cues. This flaw impacts their role in society. Most are made to be misunderstood, cast aside, often called weird. Our society has been built in a way emotions are dominated over intellect. Every decision and path we take is connected and wielded by our emotions.

A perfect individual, who exactly is that? Does anyone like that exist? What would this look like?

Deeply reading the material Athena has presented here came into views of society and personal development. Oddly this theme felt a bit too familiar for my taste. She did her job to investigate this well. I had my personal thoughts on this but I didn’t want to go into it. As well it wasn’t the time.

I raised my head away from the reading from the reading pad. I was interrupted by a creeping presence.

An annoying pair of brown shoes pointing towards me.

“Stop lurking. Why are you here?” I asked, without looking who that was.

“I have an answer to your question.” Yuji ignored the unwelcoming tone and moved on to his own point.

He came all this way to my seat. We were inside the main classroom where we have our tests or meetings with our homeroom professor that takes care of our class. It was truly sad I was sharing a class with someone like him but it wasn’t anything I could do about it.

I looked up at the pair of pale blue eyes looking down at me.

Yuji was smiling with that challenge glimpse he had. He looked equally annoying as he sounded.

A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

“It wasn’t intentional but also it was!” Yuji spoke of something I have zero clues about. “Someone asked him to burn some information.” Yuji spoke. “Mr. Lawyet was supposed to clean up his own mistake but ended up burning the whole mansion down in the process. Kind of hilarious, if you ask me!” Mischief written all over his annoying face. It was the question I asked Shin yesterday. Yuji gave me an answer I didn’t get from Shin.

This did set me off in different creepy ways.

“I will look past your insane behaviour and ask you this. What’s the point in putting into a book of a history without discussing the facts why he did it in the first place? They wrote that this was an accident and then named the person who did it. It’s inconsistent.” I raised a question that was really in my mind while reading it.

“So you don’t care why he did it but rather how it was written.” Yuji looked very happy by my response as if it was unexpected but interesting.

I didn’t respond to this remark waiting for him to speak again.

Annoying creatures like to talk a lot and this one never shuts up. If I’d ignored him who may know what else ways he would poke for my attention.

“Okay, let’s see why history books exist? To tell a story and document the past. Make people read it in the future. Some get rewritten in different words. Others saw the same story differently. The right way to tell a story there is none. Deleting and rewriting events. Do you understand this?” Yuji said something interesting.

“Rewriting history? Huh?” I hung my head slightly thinking. “That’s the real reason isn’t it? How many times though. Is it even true at this point?” I shook my head as my mind was thinking. To burn the originals and invent something that should be existing for the path of the future minds. I’ve seen this somewhere before.

“It’s very big brother.” I looked up at him.

“Old method but efficient. Isn’t it?” Yuji’s eyes looked pleased with this conversation, smiling brightly as if I had uncovered something that he was proud of.

It did set me off a bit and at this point I was done with indulging with this. Searching for the history of Akasia isn’t something worth doing. Every place in this world has a shady calculative side. I shouldn’t hang on to something like this. That wasn’t my area. As a development student this has nothing to do with me. Unnecessary.

“Why are you doing this?” I straightened in the chair looking at his pale blue eyes. His hair slightly out of place and messy from putting a hand through them. I saw him in the uniform every day but if I truly actually try to look at Yuji. It looked like he was in a ridiculous cosplay. As if he was playing a character he wasn’t.

I reached out my hand to touch his upper arm, slightly giving a squeeze.

He did not expect this but wanted to pull back but in the end he let me. His face avoided any emotion when I did this.

“Don’t you have a boyfriend already or he isn’t satisfying enough?” Yuji laughed, accepting the way assessing his hand strength.

It wasn’t unusual for a guy to work out.

I took my hand away and smiled the most obvious fake smile ever.

“Nice arm! We can have a workout together sometime.” I only said this sarcastically but Yuji seemed to take it to heart.

“Me and you working out together? Why didn't it cross my mind?” He happily accepted this unexpected invitation.

“Sorry, turns out I am busy.” I instantly declined it.

“Aww, such as shame.” He mockingly played along with me. Still smiling he looked into my eyes.

“There’s something that I want you to look at.” He said to me and pulled out his phone.

“I’m not interested.” I wanted him to go away.

“All I need is your email. I will send it to you and you can ignore it if you want.” He said to me, giving me his phone to insert my email.

“You’re gonna pester me till I give it to you. Isn’t it?” I asked him.

“You know me well!” He flashed a big grin.

I let out a sigh, then took his phone and entered my email in the notes and passed back to him. Yuji happily retreated.

  “Thanks Rory!”

“Now go away!” I stared up at him and he stared back.

A moment passed like this, then his feet turned. A phone was in his hands. A notification beeped on mine.

Naturally, I reached out to look at it.

  Email request pending.
