Chapter Twenty

I WALKED OUT of my bathroom, that dream I had, I began to place my dream into reality, I felt that that was how it was Now, all a bunch of metaphors protraying out in form of dreams, the early stage was casting out how I felt, I was okay by the beginning of yesterday but as the day went on my mood switched, and all that pain I felt I thought to consider it to the fear I had.

I couldn't move in all that I was as trapped to the earth as a tree. For a moment I pulled myself thoughts to ', what if I was in denial, denying what was right in front of me, refusing to accept Reality, reality that the mythical did really exist, Everthing surreal; awestricking was all real, of course theoretically speaking, Those insane theorized eerie notions were the commence of my hypothesis.

I got to the end of my short passage, as I leaned my ear at my door, I waited to hear, I wanted to hear, if it was asleep presuming snoring or if not it were moving about, probably nibbling on my books or pillows, if It were going to be that harmless and prudent.

But nothing, it was quiet in there and I took my chances of it being asleep, I shut my eyes as I slowly slide open the door. I poked my head out, and my eyes searched for where that creature was, the first thing I noticed was how my room looked like a hurricane just hit it, everything was scattered and messy, I had never seen it this much untidy, luckily nothing had been nibbled or crashed to bits. My balcony doors were still open, wide open, it seemed like they had been open for the whole night.

My eyes stopped as they squinted at it, what was on the center of my bed, it had made itself at home and taken up , cozily sleeping in it, I had been crouched down on the cold floor the rest of the damning night while it took my bed. Well, at least it was my choice to leave my bedroom's comforts,

I immediately noticed that it was back to its little size, and I could breath relatively again, I exhaled a long quiet puff of relief. I thought it was less of a threat when it was tiny. I glared at it cuddled up in my bed, as I walked in, my thoughts were on when all of this was over, I'd make sure my room was meticulously cleaned, down to every corner and cushion, my bloody bed changed!

I noticed that the watch was still were I had left it, right on the floor, I was to go as quick and quiet as possible, then get a hold of it and smash it to the floor. I was half way of executing my simple plan, which could have failed or worked, the possibility was one out of ten. I had just picked up my shoe at the side of my floor, and I was going to use it to smash that watch, as far as I knew, touching that thing only brought horrors.

I rose my shoe in mid air then sent it off to the watch to smash it but I stopped mid way, when I heard it speak.

''I wouldn't do thar if I were you.''

It said without opening its eyes, but one of its large ears were up, and I exhaled, of course it could hear me, its hearing must have been remarkably great. But I ignored it, I thought by the time it got to me, I would be already done with the watch. I Proceeded, but it stopped me again

''Did you not hear me boy?'' It asked without ever opening its eyes. ''I can feel the power force, thar seems to be coming out of there, its strong mate really strong, besides mate why would you destroy your own Regem, thar fing around it there's holdin' it togever.''

I pushed closer, ''Mate. . .'' It crooned, ''I know I frighten you, but to be fair I frighten most, you wouldn't be the first to scarper out of here like ya head's on fire, I frighten Husttan's as well, and ya should see 'em they more creepier than me, but it's been long, and these days everywon's terrified of anyfing extinct.'' It seemed to go on and on with its stories.

''Listen kid, if ya break it, you can't anyway but if you were to give it even the slightest little crack you'd unleash somefing more terrifyin' than me. ''

''I'm willing to take my chances.'' I muttered.

''Of course you've never heard of the cursed Nightmaring Forrax, have you?" It interrupted me again.

''You're making that up.'' I muttered.

''If you fink thar will send me away I'll give you an advance it won't. You'd just unleash somefing more terrifyin' than me.''

I was going to ignore it, why was I even stalling, I couldn't trust it, for all I knew it was probably trying to save itself, it was trying to manipulate me to stay, I knew for sure I was right but then they were the terrifying odds of what if it were telling the truth and I'd unleash something my worst nightmares couldn't top, that cursed Nightmaring forrax it talked about that didn't sound good. And the last thing I wanted was to be wrong for the hundredth time.

I told myself I wasn't trusting it, or giving into its manipulation, I was just being careful this time to not to do anything stupid, I had to break my tendency of doing things that would question my character later onward, when I'd be caught in some one sided conversation, I wondered how was I not sure I wasn't doing it again by doing this. I dropped my shoe.

''Good.'' It said. ''You're an , aren't you?''

''Stop talking to me.'' I said avoiding looking at it, staring at my balcony doors. ''Let's make a deal. I won't break this watch, if you'll agree to leave my room. Right Now. This instant.'' I bargained, stabbing a finger, emphatically to the floor.

''Sounds fair to me. But hear me out mate, even if I wanted to leave I can't.''

''What Do you mean you can't?''

''I mean thar I don't Even know how I got here. One moment am in me home, sleepin' and the next fing I know, I'm in some kid's- whar is this place, anyway?''

''My room.'' I answered bluntly. ''You're saying you don't know how you got here. How do you not know?''

''You see mate, my first guess was thar I had been snatched away from me home again.''

''You see that over there. '' I paused to point at the watch on my floors, my voice lost all it's poise tone and urged to the infuriating intonation, I will forever wonder why I was so honest and told it all this, so readily. ''My Grandpa Naijo gave it to me as a gift, and when I touched it, they was all this bright light and dark fog circulating in my room, then- then. .'' I tired to recall what happened next, I felt though I was revisiting the entire memory again, seeing how everything happened, it was like remembering a memory, only I felt like I was actually there again. Watching myself warily watch at the exact same moment.

''Then?'' It urged me to proceed, eagerly.

I summed in anxious breath, shadowing the fluster I had coursing through my entire body, convincing my mind to continue narrating to this talking creature was surely the most surreal thing I was trying to come into terms with. ''It was. . . . Um. . . It was floating- the watch, I saw right in it, this incredibly bright light, it looked like something was in it, something. . . . . . but I couldn't see it, it was too bright. What was even more eccentric was how the temperature dropped, my room was freezing, they were flakes of snow, that got out of it.'' I glared at that watch again, lessening my gaze at it. ''Then everything mustered up, back into that watch.'' My eyes squinted. ''Then light dimmed out, I saw something get out of it and head out to my ceiling lights, it triggered them and everything went dark.''

''Thar somefing ya saw, whar was it?'' It asked quietly.

I was quiet. My silence went on for long seconds until I convinced myself to speak, again. ''A shadow, I didn't really see what it was but it looked like a shadow.'' I answered, but something about yesterday kept resounding in my head, like an itch I couldn't reach, nudged at me to know, and so I asked, the sheepish words rolled out my throat. ''May I ask, can you. . . Fly as well?'' I just had to ask, gulping down a breath of misgiving, I had suspected what leapt out to my lights was it. I occupied my hand by using it to scratching the back of my neck.

''No mate.'' It denied, it's voice sounded like it was falling into laughter.

''When my lights came back on, you were there.'' I bluntly ended awkwardly next, rolling off my heels to face my balcony doors briefly before glancing back at the watch.

Abruptedly, Its eyes opened- it's huge violet eyes had shifted to a darker hue, I saw its pupil dilate, as it got up off my bed, wispy sounds hissed from the dark, silky covers over it's feet, and my eyes widened in panic mode as I cautiously moved alittle back to the watch preparing myself, if it tried anything, without a single second thought I'd overlook what it said, and crash the watch with my foot.

But it was merely getting up to stretch, then yawn. ''Thar sounds about right.''

''What sounds about right?'' I asked, my voice not hidding this dispassion and annoyance I had.

''Everyfing thar happened.'' It said scratching its left ear, with it's paw.

''I don't follow. .'' I narrowed my eyes at it, my lips drew into a thin line, and my brows lowered even closer to my eyes, as I was practically glaring at how comfortable it made itself in my

''Well, am a guide, to a Hunter's Regem, thar means when the Hunter activates their Regem, the guide appears.'' It explains, tilting it's head at me, in a calculative study.

I blankly stared at it. Everything it said I didn't comprehend, was a guide? Was it lying? I mentally shrugged because I couldn't tell. This strange creature was a guide? Not even a single word it joined made any sense, it must have sensed I wasn't following, because it's tongue clicked.

''Bubble head, whar I said, corresponded weve whar you said, you touched your Regem, activatin' it, now look don't miss it here, thar is how am here YOUR guide, savvy?'' It elaborated as though it was explaining to some five- year- old dumb kid.

Though, I'll admit what it explained still made no sense to me, the terms, the connection was all bizarre, it talked about a Regem, Hunter, Guide, Activation? What was all of that? ''I still don't understand.''

I saw it's right eye twitch alittle, like it was annoyed of what I just said, how could it blame me, for being confused about everything, how was I to keep up with whatever it was trying to say, if our situations were to be reversed, and I was the one telling it all of those things, I bet it would be half way to losing it's mind. Although that eye twitch did make me wonder whether or Not I needed to be worried.

''Okay, okay. Am dealin' weve an amateur who knows Nofing of everyfing.''

It got that right, but this time It was talking to itself, staring at both its paws out, surprisingly it wore bracelets, two on it's right wrist, the first one looked like a silver band, then the second one resembled the first only it had a huge dark colored purple gem on it, a hue that could compete with his eccentric iris shade.

It talking to itself didn't make anything any better, I looked more clueless, than before, I was talking to a creature that was self evident that it was out of it's little mind, it wasn't my best to come into terms with some mythical creature, they where several other options, I knew I could take either one of them, I'd say, pick up my phone call animal control to get here, or tell Dad even though he'd think I was crazy. What seemed to buggle me even more was how I didn't do any of that, well not yet I didn't.
