The Sage takes Titan to school

  Chapter 8

Titan followed Glenda into the open space matted gym floor.

Glenda turned back toward him holding a golden glowing clone of Titan's Axiom Edge in her slim hand.

“That’s a cool trick. It's a total clone of my weapon. Are you a mage?” He said.

Glenda giggled. “Thank you but no. It’s one of the perks of being a simple sage class with a minor skill in magic and little combat. Follow my movements first and then we will begin combat training. Please oberseve carefully.”

Titan frowned again feeling the seductive pull in her voice. He didn’t know if she was using magic to enhance her voice or was just horny as fuck.

Glenda demonstrated how to hold and then move with her weapon. Titan followed along quickly. Then she showed him how to attack and evade a strike.

They moved at first in front of each other for twenty minutes until they started mirroring one another.

When Titan copied her movements of attack and defense three times perfectly.. Glenda smiled and nodded.

“Very good Mr. Young. Would you like a minor sparring match before you go for today? You seem to have the basics down but if you would like more application I can help you.” Glenda said with a playful grin.

Titan started to nod but Glenda was already advancing toward him.

Glenda thrust her sword forward toward his chest. Energy blasted out hiting him in the chest.

Titan stared opened mouthed. Glenda spun on her back heel kicking him in the chest.

Titan flew back landing on his ass before he quickly got back to his feet.

Glenda advanced toward Titan with another stab with her sword. He quickly dodged the attack with a side step and avoided another stab.

Glenda pushed him back with gold energy knocking him off his feet.

"Please remember your defense as well as your attack methods." Glenda said in a light tone.

TItan sprang to his feet. He brought up his sword to defend.

Glenda’s sword shot energy at his chest and head.

Titan went flying backward toward the back wall. He hit it hard and dodged out of the way running away as energy blasts came at him.

Glenda kept up the attack hitting him several times as the time past.

Titan had no idea how long how time past but eventually he was able to dodge three of her shots.

The attacks suddenly increased then in procession coming from different directions all at once.

Titan was being knocked, pushed back and thrown across the room.

“Do you wish to stop training?” Glenda asked in calm kindly voice.

Titan caught his breath. He was laying on his back sweating but without a wound or bleeding.

Titan came to his feet. He brought up his sword. “Keep it coming until you believe I’m ready.” He said.

Five orbs of light came at him fast. They struck his head and stomach.

Titan began to dodge on reflex and side stepped away from attacks launched at him from multiple angles.

Glenda was suddenly in front of him and poked him with her light sword.

Titan’s body felt a jolt of energy rock him. He fell to the floor.

Glenda smiled down at him. “Please keep aware of your surroundings and enemy tactics.”

  Titan nodded. “Let’s go.”

Titan sprang up to his feet with a slight groan. He took a step back from her as Glenda moved forward and poked him again.

Titan stiffened up and fell but he rolled to his feet as Glenda advanced.

Glenda kept attacking him with a simple poke. Titan tried blocking only to be jolted.

Titan then moved around her body to poke her but he hit nothing but air.

“What the-ah!: Titan yelled as he was poked and again and kept backing away.

Glenda smiled and kept poking at Titan. She kept hitting him until Titan began to evade her hits.

Glenda’s calm smiling expression was the same the whole time.

Titan was dodged and then pushed her back with his palm.

Glenda didn’t move. She floated backward like she was a ghost.

Titan frowned and then he dodged to the right side stepping an attack.

He was still poked hard in the stomach by Glenda’s energy sword.

He fell to the floor breathing hard and laughed.

Glenda smiled. She let go of her sword.

Her sword floated in the air for a few moments before it disappeared.

Glenda bowed in respect to Titan from her waist.

Titan sprang to his feet and he returned the bow to her.

“Do you understand the lesson?” Glenda asked in a patient voice.

“So dungeons are filled with unpredictable moments. Always?” Titan said.

Glenda nodded. “Always. There are no rules in a dungeon. The only rule is be prepared for anything to happen.”

Titan nodded his head. “So there is no real way to predict current things.” He said.

“Correct. You must be on guard and ready for whatever information and tricks you can use once your system menu activates.” She said.

TItan folded his arm across his chest. “System menu?! What is that?”

“A window of reality that reflects back to you your true nature it is a tool for you to use to upgrade yourself and learn about other people.” Glenda said.

Titan nodded. “Got you. So it will activate when I get in the dungeon. Is there anything else?” He said.

“Yes. Please remember to eat before entering a dungeon and keep close to your team as you continue to evolve over time.”

“Evolve?! That is an interesting word for learning new skills.” Titan said.

Glenda shook her head. “No. I mean evolve in the true sense. You will begin to change and become something different over time. A more full person with solid ideals. This is your best method of survival and increase in payouts.”

Titan grunted. “Okay. Just as long as I don’t become an asshole then I’m fine with your terminology.”

“Remember, when you enter a dungeon your system will generate your class name that fixes to your evolving state.” She said.

Titan scratched his chin. He shook his head. “I thought my evolving state would be in the same class as a rogue.”

Glenda shook her head. “Rogue. Sage. Wizard. These are merely names to ascribe to the nature of a person's gift or personality traits.”

“Interesting. I never thought much of the different classes like that. So will my government class change as well?”

“No. Your Government class Rogue level one will remain the same for the sake of time but if you so wish to change it there will be an extra higher fee.” Glenda said with a pretty grin.

Titan chuckled. “No thanks. I’m good. So can I ask a question about training."

Glenda’s smile beamed. “Yes. You may come back for further training whenever you like. I will be here to assist you Mr. Young. That will be all for today. I hope to enjoy a long and pleasureable career together as close colleagues.”

Titan grinned at giving her body admiring stare. "You can bet money on that Glenda. Later."

  …..

  Back to the Present…

Titan finished up his story and felt most of his energy was back up enough to finally get up and sit with his guild members.

Every man looked at him with a mixture of scowls and grins.

Titan frowned. “What the hell are you looking at me like that? Can I get something to eat?”

Edidie passed him a wicker basket of hot wings. “Such a lucky asshole.” He said.

Titan rolled his eyes. “Anyway. I’m going to head back to her office. Hopefully I can catch her there in the morning without working somebody else.”

“Oh she’ll make room to throw you around the matt.” Charlie said.

“What the hell does that mean?” Titan said.

Charlie grinned showing all his teeth. “Nothing. Take two days to train and then get back to us.”

“Can I can I work on the budget between training?”

Charlies nodded. “Sure. In between training I want you to work out the budget and how we can fix it up. Get back to me and I’ll work out it”

“Titan. Don’t worry too much about the budget. We’ll figure it out.” Ronald said.

“We really need you to get your basics down and keep training with Glenda.” Eddie said.

“Is this because of the Psi or I’m a shit dungeon crawler?”

Charlie shrugged. “A little bit of both. You just rolled the dice at having a special class that puts a target on your back.”

“Another thing. I think you should consider getting a high caliber, high procession fire arm.” Hank said.

Titan frowned. “I don’t see a need for a firearm. It will take time to learn and could I really use it in a dungeon fight?”

Hank nodded his head. “Yes you could. I could teach you. It’s about gaining a tactical advantage or ace ahead of your enemy.”

“Tactical advantage?” Titan said as he caught hold of something interesting.

Hank nodded his head. “Yes. Will you hear me out a bit.”

“Of course. Go on.” Titan said.

Titan was quietly listening. He ate the chicken wings while he looked at Hank.

“Alright. Take our last battle against that psychopathic Psi. You already spotted him a distance away right?”

“Yeah. This system menu indicated to me he was an enemy challenge.”

“Right. Well, think about it. If you had spotted him before he saw you coming. You had the advantage for a few seconds or minutes.”

Titan chewed silently. He nodded his head slowly.

“Okay. If you had just a high procession Excalibur 22LR you could have shot his ass off before he got anywhere near you.” Hank said.

Titan stared at him. “I also could have thrown my Axiom Edge at his head.” He said.

Hank shook his head. “You would have missed him at the speed he was going and you don’t know if you can hit a moving target yet.” He said.

Titan leaned back and forward in his seat and grimaced. “If I had kept my eyes on him and told you where he was, could you have hit him?”

Hank rolled his eyes to the ceiling in thought and he grimaced.

“50/50. Chance. High level Psi are pretty fast.” He said.

Titan stared at him. “So if I had told you where he was silently then you could have hit him with this Excelbor 22LR?”

Hank nodded. “Yeah. If he was distracted in battle.”

Titan banged his fist on the table. “Damn it. I should have thought of that. I was afraid when I saw his status and level.”

“When I told you to run? Why did you run?” Charlie said, drawing Titan’s attention to him.

“Because you told me to run. I was still afraid of dying.” Titan said.

Charlie shook his head. “No. You ran because I told you to run. If I told you to stand still. What would you do?”

“I would do what you told me to do.” Titann said.

  “Why?”

Titan frowned. “I trust you know what you’re doing better than I do.”

Charlie grinned and pointed at him. “Yes. I knew there was a strong possibility that you would die. I also had another idea.”

Titan frowned at him. “What was that idea?”

“I knew he was going to chase you. It was possible for you to get away but it wasn’t necessary for my other idea.”

Titan nodded his head. “What was your other idea?”

Charlie nodded his head. “We just needed to deal with others quickly. Hank and Ronald would hit him from behind. Easy win.”

Titan’s lips curved up at the end. “There is more than one way to beat someone stronger than yourself.” He said.

Charlie clapped his hands. “Right on the money. It took me five years to learn that lesson.”
