VOL 2 | CHAPTER 131: | SEPARATION

  CHAPTER 131: | SEPARATION

  ---

'Haaa...' I couldn't help but mentally sigh at my current situation.

The damp air or maybe the already damp currents of the forest clung to my skin, mirroring the sticky predicament I found myself in.

I didn't expect that someone as usually meek as Samantha would pout this badly just because I deliberately ignored her questions.

Not that i didn't want to tell her, but because it was simply premature for her to know, but oh well, I couldn't blame her for being this pouty.

While it was cute from my perspective, I knew that even I would get angry if she decided to hide something from me.

After all, what I wanted from my relationship with her was absolute control, a bond where she would adhere to all of my commands and follow me like how a blind lamb follows its herder.

I know it is considered to be a toxic relationship by normal standards, but what could I do about my situation?

I glanced upward, past the silky strands of her specially silver and I felt like today would specially be a difficult day.

Well I possibly can't tell her what im hiding since I had to be careful, extra careful, not to get caught by the invisible net that the 'SHD and SMOA' or aka 'Supreme Heavenly Dao and Supreme Mother of All' had set.

They were attempting to catch a big fish, and that fish is me, I sighed as I could almost explicitly their gazes, a static buzz against my authority, waiting for a single slip-up.

While it was saddening that I wouldn't be able to spoil this lovely woman with my utmost affection, it was better than them finding my last authority 'Wisdom' in a premature time just like now.

Because if they've found it, that would only mean one thing, me being completely erased, to remove me as a their biggest threat.

So, I guess it's better to suffer for now than ceasing to exist, a question, why can't I just shower Samantha with affection while avoiding those two?

Simple, if I let go, if I let the dam break, I could pretty much make a slip-up that no amount of caution could fix, it was such a shame, but I had to suppress these growing emotions inside of me, the sooner, the better.

Killing the emotion isn't an option I desire, so what I have chosen is a difficult path to tread... but a surefire one that will lead to my goal.

Even at the cost of hurting those two lovely women. I... I can at least bear with it, maybe in the far future I wouldn't be able to control this growing emotion, but what can I do? Kill it?.

I know it's foolish, I know it's uncertain, But killing this very thing called 'love' just wouldn't do justice to the years they've spent waiting for me.

It is life that gives us these crossroads, with the results coming to fruition only when we choose which path to walk, but it isn't too bad to risk this path for their sake, that is why I choose to suppress it for now.

I choose it because I am a man, and as a man, I shall see this through to the end, even if it means risking my path to ascendance.

I lifted my hand gently, tracing the curve of her cheek, her skin was warm against the cool currents of the abyssal depths, I smiled gently, my voice dropping to a whisper.

"Please understand my intentions this time... I know you're smart, so please understand that it's not time for you to hear it yet. But, in exchange for not answering you... I shall grant you a wish."

I felt it, I could hear Samantha sighing, not in delight, but in slight annoyance at my response, I get that she was annoyed, but I couldn't understand why she would still embrace me even in the midst of her irritation.

She whispered like a sweet siren in my ear, her breath hot and laced with a scent of wild nectar, attempting to drown me just like a siren would drown a young sailor.

"I know... no, I don't know what plans you've got right now or how difficult it is to accomplish them. But if you wish to share them, please do tell me. And if not? Just remain silent like a mute. I prefer it if you merely looked at me with affection like a fool... but sadly, I can't control you, since you're not a child that I can mold, however I liked it. You had your plan to not fall too hard for me, right? So please, stop spoiling me with your sweetness. B-because I wouldn't be able to help myself with reason... but to helplessly fall madly in love with you."

I sighed at her words, pulling her against me, the makeshift earthen throne beneath us felt hard, but her softness made up for it.

Samantha was surprised by the sudden motion but soon regained her reason, she smiled then gracefully settled into my lap, embracing me without hesitation as she muttered softly against my chest.

"I love it whenever you're being romantic to me. But sadly, I have no strength to forcefully control you to do my bidding, to make you face me every waking hour and kiss me so tenderly that I would lose my mind in immense pleasure. Truly, it is a dirty desire... but a pity that it isn't our reality."

I couldn't help but smile at her words, tightening my embrace.

"Maybe if I achieve the goal that I’ve longed for... maybe after that, we would be cuddling for an eternity. I too would love that idea of yours. But I’d love it if I am on top rather than being on the bottom. So stop those pointless thoughts of yours and just settle yourself in the bottom like a meek sheep."

Samantha raised a brow, sneering playfully at my words, she leaned in, the friction of her clothes rustling softly in the quiet clearing.

"You're demanding, as I expected, Alister. But the future is unknown. Maybe this mischievous fox will force you to be on the bottom at some point... so behave yourself like a good child, or this lovely lady will have no choice but to punish a mischievous boy."

I smirked at how she was acting all dominant right now, It was such a shame that I would only be able to enjoy it for now, slowly I lowered my head to the crook of her neck, where her pulse beat a frantic rhythm against her skin.

As the hot air escaped from my nose against her sensitive skin, I could see it, I could feel it, she was quivering with excitement.

The increase of her heartbeat, the nervous glances... even though she chided that nervousness behind a mask of neutrality, trying to maintain her composure, but I didn't let her, as I slowly bit down on her neck.

  Nom.

A jolt of electricity seemed to run through her frame.

Samantha was taken aback, her hands coming up to push me away in embarrassment, but before she could succeed, I had already begun to taste her skin, licking the spot in a deliberate, lewd manner, savoring the salty sweetness and the reaction she was trying so desperately to hide.

"I mean, I don't mind being disciplined by a lovely lady such as you... but know that it will be hard for you to do so. Since I am pretty much a lewd guy who will do anything to be on top. I suggest you give up those thoughts and be the obedient Samantha, just like the way you are."

Samantha was caught off guard by my actions and words, her face flushing a lovely shade of crimson, monetheless, she took a breath and regained her regal composure.

She lifted her hand, her voice soft but projecting loudly enough to cut through the ambient noise of the currents, reaching all my subordinates in the vicinity.

"Everyone. Gather before us right this instance. I repeat, gather this instance without any delay."

I sighed at the sudden change in the atmosphere, the romance evaporated, replaced by duty, I stood up from the throne, allowing her to take the seat, while I sat on the ground nearby, leaning against the now rough sandy floor.

I watched her, make herself comfortable on the throne as the currents shimmered.

  Whoosh!

Lumicor appeared behind me, lounging on a chair of pure light he conjured out of thin air.

Solia sat on the ground right beside me, with Ishtar settling into her lap.

Tellus didn't appear beside Solia, but rather emerged from the soil behind Samantha, looking like a regal earth dragon guarding her from any form of danger.

Samantha stared down at me, then gently patted her lap.

I sighed in embarrassment, since I knew that she wanted me to sit there, but no, I didn't want to, as it would only damage my image as their emperor.

But samantha glared at me, her patience thinning like a taut string.

"Alister. Come here and sit like the good boy you are."

Hearing her words, Lumicor snickered softly, a sound like how the currents crashed at each other in muse amusement, pitying me for my predicament.

I didn't find it funny at all, but Ishtar smiled mischievously, whispering something to Solia that made the latter flush red.

I remained quiet, holding my ground, until Samantha smiled coldly, the temperature in the clearing seemed to drop a few degrees.

"I guess words alone won't work, huh? Then maybe you want me to drag you from there?"

  'Haaa...'

  I sighed in defeat.

  Poof!

With a small puff of smoke, I compressed my sandy form and transformed it into that of a young kid to salvage some dignity, I walked over, my smaller legs trudging through the sands, and sat idly on her lap.

Samantha looked pretty satisfied with herself, she stroked my hair and addressed the room.

"I'm finding the subjugation of the 17 Overseers of this place to be quite a tedious task. It would take us more than a decade at this rate. So, I propose that we split up right this moment."

Lumicor nodded his head, he too wanted to go his separate way to solo those 'Overseers' for quite a while right now.

Solia pondered about it for a moment before nodding, while Tellus just nodded passively, his stony face unreadable.

But Ishtar, always curious, raised a hand.

"Master! Master! I am curious as to which direction each of us should go since we're all going separate ways? And where should we meet after we defeat all the Overseers?"

Samantha smiled, pointing North, East, West, and South.

"What I meant by 'separate ways' is that we are going in groups. But why in pairs? The purpose is to nurture the weaker members among us. For example, Ishtar and myself. I will be following Alister. Ishtar, you will pair with Lumicor, as he is currently the strongest in the group. You will head to the North."

Lumicor nodded in acknowledgment, he looked at Ishtar, smiling softly, then pulled her to his side.

  FLASH!

A blinding pillar of light erupted, and in the next second, they vanished, leaving only the smell of ozone and a fading trail of photons.

Samantha sighed at how reckless Lumicor was, or perhaps just how excited he was, then she pointed to Tellus and Solia to give her next command.

"You two should be able to handle the Overseers in the West without much difficulty. You may go."

Tellus nodded, then lifted Solia onto his back, the ground trembled slightly as he kicked off, flying through the currents with the weight of a mountain yet the grace of a feather.

We sighed in unison at how impatient those bastards were.

"Well, I guess we should go on our way right now, Samantha."

Samantha nodded, then she pointed deeper into the forest, where the shadows grew long and the trees seemed to whisper warnings, her smile turned confident and sharp.

"Then let us defeat the True Overseer of this place."
