Book 1 QnA

A red-scale Kobold confidently walks through the darkness; a huge grin plastered on his face. His eyes stared directly at you before raising his claws up in the air and laughed. So loudly that it echoed through the abyss.

“Veehahahahaha!! Did you miss me?! Well, you won’t have to wait too long. Cause ‘Weak Kobold Wants to Conquer’ will return next month! Until then we’re going to have a little fun by having us our first ever….”

Suddenly, massive red letters with purple outlines three times the kobold’s size rise up from the empty ground. Their material was unknown. It was almost like they were something created from fiction. If you were to further move away, you would notice that each letter put together spelled out a phrase…

  “Vladimir’s Global Conquering QnA!!!!!!”

Several sounds of clapping could be heard from not that far away. It was enough to make a crowd’s worth. At the corner there was a familiar silver dragon dressed in a robe currently tied up with his mouth covered by what seemed to be duct tape. All the while the dragon struggling against his restraints with muffled screaming as he glared at the red kobold.

  “MMRRFFPPHHH!!”

The red kobold chose to ignore him as he continued. “And I bet you’re wondering. Why is it suddenly third person? Well, I figured since this was a question and answers meant for us I thought it would be easier for me to share the spotlight. You’re welcome~”

The silver dragon could only roll his eyes in annoyance, clearly not amused with the takeover. Nonetheless he still struggled through his binds, the thoughts running through his head were filled with what he was planning to do with Vladimir when he’s free.

That seemed to get to Vladimir as his body shuttered from his intense glare, as if his body itself knew what was to come.

Of course, Vladimir ignored that feeling as he pulled out several flashcards on his claws as he waved them in the air. “There aren’t many questions here, so I decided to add some of my own here as well. And to help with this segment I have invited all of my henchmen into this space. Come on out everyone!!”

At the sound of Vladimir’s call his familiar henchmen all walked into existence. Mordred scratched the back of his head as despite having been here before still hasn’t quite understood where he was.

On the other hand, V looked the most excited as their curious eyes were glued to their surroundings. And while he too was excited, Damian showed only full professionalism….Which he immediately dropped the moment Vladimir came in his line of sight and was already ready to sprint towards him with his arms ready to grab him.

It was thanks to Mordred stopping him before things escalated. Vladimir couldn’t help but sigh in relief. As for the last one, Zeph casually walked in with nothing more with a small smile and a simple wave before everyone gathered around Vladimir.

Vladimir then turned to the tied-up dragon. “Course, you’ll be joining in too so I should probably take this thing off. Now, I’m going to do this VERY slowly. No funny business. ~”

He slowly inched his free claw to the duct tape all the while watching if the silver dragon for any sudden movements.

“And now…introducing the Author of Weak Kobold Wants to Conquer. Bill Shyroku! Give him a round of applause!!”

The moment he finished his sentence he suddenly yanked the tape off of the Author’s mouth as the crowd clapping was immediately drowned out by the silver dragon’s roar.

“AAAAHHH! That hurts you tiny gremlin!! You’re definitely going to pay for this!” He declared.

He struggled through the binds with the same result as before. “Can you at least untie me if you’re getting us to do this??”

“Nope, we still need you here until that little break is over. Now that everyone’s here, it’s time to start the QnA!”

“Yeah, except it’s mainly questions that yo-”

“First question! It seems this person is asking me a question. They’re asking me how I am going to manage the bane of all rulers?? What is he talking about…. paperwork??” Vladimir asked as he read the flashcard, with a look of confusion in his face.

Mordred and V could only tilt their heads, with Mordred scratching his head. Considering they’re monsters, the concept of paperwork wouldn’t really hit them. On the other hand, Damian was already looking up as if picturing the little Kobold hard at work while Zeph could only chuckle over the same thought.

Vladimir could only look at the flashcard with the same confused look while the author smirked. That was until the red Kobold spoke.

“I don’t know why you would need to ask such a question. Of course I was fully expecting to handle such tasks every now and again. I planned on designating the proper people and even work on a few myself. The mayor on the town would make a top candidate as for the Mivtic Kingdom there should have been advisors there I can discuss. I’ll probably have to revise their polic-”

And he continued to ramble on without stop. The look of confusions across everyone reversed with Zeph’s eyes popping and the author’s mouth gaping. V and Mordred practically cheered him on, even if they have no idea what was going on as for Damian, well…… he was still fantasizing about Vladimir.

After a few minutes Vladimir finished. “But enough on the technical details. We should go through the next question.”

Zeph interrupted him before looking back at the author. “Wait, how does he know all that? And why are you looking so surprised, you’re the author aren’t you??”

“Oh uhm right… I guess I….forgot…. or did I just make it up on the spot….” The dragon closed his eyes as he tried to remember.

The vulture henchman could only squint his eyes. “Which is it?”

But before he could answer, Vladimir cleared his throat while waving the next card on his claw. “We still have more questions here. We don’t have time to answer questions not written on these cards.”

The genuine version of this novel can be found on another site. Support the author by reading it there.

  “But you wrote mos-”

“Next question! Now it seems we have a basic question. What kind of hobbies would you say each of you would enjoy? Well for me I always like to read good books. Especially the ones with kingdom-based stories.”

Zeph was the one to respond. “Well that would explain a bit on this goal of his…and wait did he say he reads? I didn’t know you monsters had books to read.”

Mordred replied back. “We don’t, I had to have it shown to me at one point. I don’t get the point of it but the boss seems to enjoy them when he’s alone so it must be good.”

“Really? Cause Mr. Vlad tries to teach me whenever he gets free time! I think I can get a few words!” V enthusiastically answered.

“Now if only they had pictures….” Vladimir mumbled.

Though Zeph picked up on that. “Hm??”

Vladimir then returned to the question at hand. “Well now its time you all answered. The crowd is waiting. ~”

His henchmen paused as they considered their answers. It didn’t take long before one of them spoke up. It was the young goblin, V.

“I like helping find new stuff I never heard about and collecting interesting things. Oh, and helping everyone out too!” They enthusiastically said. Everyone couldn’t help but feel bliss. Vladimir in particular looked like he was in heaven.

When the initial cuteness subsided Mordred was the next to speak. “That’s easy, I like training with the Orcs! Those guys really know how to take a beating; I don’t have to hold back with them!! But I mainly like to see if the boss has any projects lying around, they are always exciting. Like right now the boss has this one where he’s building a ca-”

The red kobold stopped him before he could finish. “Now Mordred, let’s keep it a surprise. Makes things more interesting!”

“Right sorry boss.” His minotaur henchmen apologized while rubbing the back of his neck.

Next up was Damian, he was fidgeting as if that the answer was embarrassing. It clashed with his imposing figure as he answered with his stoic tone with a hint of familiar emotion. “…. I like collecting cute dolls…I especially like the kobold ones…. specifically, ones that look lik-”

“NEXT ONE!” Vladimir interrupted him, his body shuddering with the expectation of the answer.

Lastly, that left Zeph, unlike the others, he seemed to be unsure how to answer. “Hmm, what kind of hobbies do I enjoy?? I guess I like watching what everyone else is up to. Like how Mordred would sometimes play with V and play pretend that they were Vladimir and let them bounce around his shoulders.”

“H-hey!!” Mordred responded, sounding all flustered. V was waving their hands as if to answer but Mordred stopped him, his face looking a bit heated.

Ignoring that outburst the vulture Beastman continued. “Oh, I even saw the bossman once when he was alone. It looked like he was practicing doing his signature po-”

Vladimir tripped as he rushed to stop Zephyrus from finishing, unable to properly convey his words. The next second he got up and cleared his throat. He continued to the next flashcard while trying to pretend the others weren’t staring at him.

“…. Ok so next question I got is for the author.”

The silver dragon looked back at Vladimir, his body relaxing despite being tied up as he waited for his question.

“This one is asking what made him think up the concept for Weak Kobold Wants to Conquer. Got to say, I’m curious myself.”

Bill rolled his eyes as he whispered under his breath. “Acting like you didn’t ask that question yourself.”

But he answered. “Well, I thought the idea of an edgelord being forced in such a weak and tiny race would be both funny and interesting. Plus, not making him overpowered means I would have to be creative with how he would go with such an approach as well as I like Monster main characters. And I mean actual monsters and not just having them turn more human with just tails and horns and stuff. Also, I do enjoy scaled creatures hence my chosen persona.”

Vladimir nodded, seemingly satisfied with the answer. He then took the next flashcard on his claws. “Now let’s see, this question is asking us who’s ability would we choose to have. Well if I had to choose, I would probably choose Zeph’s [Death Route]. If you combine that with my own ability to forge items that would open to many possibilities. That and the name of the skill sounds rather epic.”

Mordred looked offended. “H-hey boss, why wouldn’t you want my skill? It’s pretty awesome too!”

“….I doubt my body could handle those kinds of skills.” Vladimir whispered to himself before he motioned for Mordred to answer next.

Still feeling a bit upset, Mordred answered while pouting. “…Much as I hate to admit. I think Damian’s [Shockwave] would pair well for me. Makes it easier for me to overpower the boss’s enemies.”

The red Kobold nodded, agreeing with his choice before he motioned V to answer.

“That’s easy! I want to use Mr. Vlad’s [Material Forge]!! It’s so cool especially the way Mr. Vlad uses it!!” V enthusiastically answered.

Vladimir couldn’t help but to blush, as much as he could through a kobold’s body at least, before he pointed at Zephyrus. Unlike the others he had to take a moment to think on it.

“Hmmm, I think Mordred’s [Storm Cleaver] would be interesting to try out. After all, I do specialize is thrown weapons so I think it would pair well.”

Vladimir pictured the Vulture Beastman using the skill. Honestly, he is surprised he wouldn’t already have it himself.

Finally he reluctantly pointed at the last henchman, Damian. As usual, he was giving his stoic expression before he timidly fiddled his paws.

  “….I would like V’s [Search].”

Vlad couldn’t help but squint his eyes in suspicion. He was hesitant to ask. “…. why?”

The black bear stayed silent for a bit, before he eyed the Kobold, which made his back shudder. “…. It’d make it easier for me to find you, Vla-”

“AAAANNNNDDDD we’re done with that question!” At this point, Vladimir couldn’t help but wonder if he could die of heart attack with the amount of stress the black bear will put him through. He could swear he could hear Zeph chuckling to himself in the background.

He shook his head as he looked at the last flash card. “And now we’re at the final question.”

Vlad looked rather puzzled over this card, his expression telling everyone that he didn’t expect this question. “Is Vladimir’s laugh real? Wait, who wrote this one? I didn-”

He coughed as he caught himself before finishing his sentence before looking back at the author, who in return gave a small smirk as if he already knew the answer.

The others commented on the question.

“Yeah, actually I was wondering that. It sounded so over the top I had to wonder if it was fake.” Zephyrus asked, looking rather intrigued.

“Come now, surely it’s the boss’s real laugh. No way he would fake that!” Mordred tried to rebuttal.

V agreed with him. “Yeah! It’s such a cool laugh, it must be Mr. Vlad’s real laugh!”

Damian didn’t say anything, instead he was simply imagining something. More than likely, it was about Vladimir based on his happy expression.

Vladimir cleared his throat before answering. “Well of course it’s my real laugh!! No way I would fake such a thing!! Veehahahahaha!!! ~”

The author could only respond with a simple “mhmm.”

“Anyway, that is all the questions we have for this time!! Hopefully we’ll have more questions to answer for book 2’s QnA!!”

He than went to the author and undid his bindings. The dragon could rubbed his arms from being released from the restraints.

“And now it’s time for the author to return to work on book 2 so he can show you more of my exploits! Book 2 of Weak Kobold Wants to Conquer will return on September 1! Mark your calendars folks cause you don’t want to miss it!!”

“Yeah…but first…” Bill conjured a pen out of thin air before writing at nothing in front of him. “There’s something I should do before we end things….”

Vladimir looked confused before he started to notice something going on with Damian. Effigies of the black bears started to form around him as all their expressions started to scare the small kobold.

  “Wait…. you wouldn’t.”

The silver dragon’s own expression started to change to a smile far more expressive than Vladimir’s own as a glint shined from his eyes.

Before Vladimir could react a group of Damians started to surround him. Each and every one of them had their arms out and were running towards him at high speed all while yelling out a single word. “VLADDDYYYYY!!!!~”

There was no escape from the tiny tyrant as they jumped at him and gave him the embrace of a lifetime.

  “NOOOOOOOO!!!!”

The author then made his pen disappear before turning around towards you. “I hope you enjoy the start of Book 2 next month. We’ll see you there.”
