Interlude 16.5 – Rhapari’s Mind

  Far, far, far away from Han and the girls and, in a fact, in a different reality;

  “Sodamnboringhh!” A suited woman says, not even attempting to lower her voice that might leak out of her cubicle. Despite the humming, monotonous typing and ckluster atmosphere, no one around her even reacted. Not a single gnce by anyone. Though, even if they did, she wouldn’t have seen it, as her eyes are locked to her cubicle’s left wall.

  “Does she not want to talk?” This time, she completely whispers under her breath; any attempts to draw attention from her colleague had failed. Until she finally gave up and used the st method. With her rolling chair, she scoots over to the cubicle leftwards to hers.

  “Hm?” A young woman, with a matching dress code, though with a blue-tinted theme, turned to her. Pretty much distracting her amidst whatever work she was doing.

  “Rha-pa-ri… how did you even come up with that?” She leans in, putting her elbow on her colleague’s table’s edge.

  “It’s… why do you want to know?” Rhapari sighs after seeing that the woman had no pns of leaving. Hoping that she would leave after, she continued.

  “It’s repair with a French fir. Now, don’t you have work to do?”

  “You’re the one to speak girl~” She nudged her chin, pointing at Rhapari’s monitor. Rhapari quickly tabbed out, returning to some kind of spreadsheet application. However, since the woman noticed it first, she had enough time to grasp what the forum post was about.

  “The Blur? Is it some kind of new enemy? I haven’t heard of one.”

  “It’s nothing.” She brushed her off. Sat up straight, fixed her gsses, and continued working.

  “How’s that Ferul quest going on? Heard you needed to go solo to some crypt.”

  “Yeah, I’m training for a banquet—ah.“ Rhapari perked up at the woman’s question until her ramble was stopped by herself upon noticing her smile. This time she ended up gently pushing her out of her cubicle’s zone.

  She couldn’t stop smiling at her naivety. It’s absurd how a low level girl like that ended up in one of the top 15 ranked guilds; the Quest Seekers. As the name implies, it was a guild full of like-minded people that spent most of their time pying the game, which included leveling and such, through quests. It still propelled them to stardom due to the insanely rare or even items that nobody can get anymore.

  If only I could get in…

  “Erika?” She turned to her left and saw Rhapari peeking out. Without even needing to initiate the conversation, she began.

  “It’s the Bck Blur. A unique mob… or NPC, it’s hard to tell. He helped me complete the Ferul’s quest. I noticed a bunch of people writing vent threads after getting killed, and… I think it’s him.”

  “Huh?”

  Rhapari spoke so fast Erika could barely understand the jumbled mess. She could only roll back to her side of the cubicle. Her eyes quickly drifted around the various forum posts, it was hard to really tell the scenario, as Rhapari only showed her responses. But the comment above shed some light on the situation.

  “I gave him the robe… I just don’t get it. He’s a zombie, though.” She said without a hint of wariness.

  “I-I see that. You’ve really been defending him, huh? Don’t you think it’s, just a tad, a minute thing—that he’s killing pyers?”

  It was a weird scene after all, but how would anyone feel if they were killed by someone strong. Her exception didn’t change the outcome; that’s what Erika thought at least. However;

  “And? He attacked me as well, let me go, then helped me with the quest.”

  Erika could only stare at her with a perplexed smirk.

  T-This girl… she’s dangerously naive.
