I stuck to Anibeli for the remainder of our time in this system. We had resupplied, ignored requests to assist in the stations defense proactively. And eventually left.
Turns out, that when crippled battle cruiser had escaped the field of battle, the rest had fled. So, after a week, we , and headed to our rendezvous with Anibeli's grandfather.
We were heading to an allied forge world where Anibeli's house was mustering. It was a ways away, so on our journey most arduous, I decided to practice dueling with Anibeli.
Sometimes I ambushed her while at rest, sometimes I let her aproach me. When she did that, she typically came with a squad of voidsmen with clubs in tow. It was good practice, so I didn't complain about the loose rule lawyering.
When we weren't attempting to beat each other, we were playing that void battle sim. Anibeli said it had a decent translation between the game and real life. I took her word for it.

My favorite tactics were ambushes and, if that failed, close range bombardment via torpedoes and macrocannons. It was very effective in some scenarios, while in others, I had to adjust my strategy.
Sometimes we did team versus team. On occasion, we had rules to where you couldn't communicate fleet choices between each other, sometimes we were limited in ship choices and or tonnage.
My favorite match in recent memory was thus. It was Anibeli and I versus the ship's XO and coms officer. The rules were no pre match communication, and limited ship tonnage.
By now, my favorite tactic (torpedo spam) was well known. I decided that I wanted to do something else this day. As I looked through the ship options I had, I came across some ships I had rarely, if ever, seen played.
I had just enough for it, and I chose it without hesitation. When the time came, our side had 1 Murder class cruiser, 1 Dauntless Class light cruiser, and a mixed squadron of swords and firestorms.
We found that they had 2 endeavors and 2 endurance class light cruisers. I looked at them, and I saw the com operator flinch. The xo just grimaced, and the battle began. The 4 hostile light cruisers were far out ranged, and it showed as by the first 10 minutes, I had picked off an endeavor. They had to split up and try for what little cover there was.
The frigates engaged with one, while the Dauntless flushed out the other two. While the Dauntless is lighter in terms of weapons, it was faster and had a bit better range, so as I punished them as I saw them, Anibeli worked them free of cover, where I eventually ripped both to shreds with her cruisers help. The Wolfpack of frigates had ripped the lone cruiser to shreds, and the game ended.
We shook hands, commented on the game, and the games continued. Overall, it was decent entertainment during warp travel.
