With slowness, I raise my hand. I draw my hand back, and with a snap forward, I loose. With a crack and an animalistic scream, one of the creatures dies, leaving one now heading towards the child.
Anibeli's POV
She awoke with a start, hearing a scream. It sounded inhuman, and she scrambled out of the tree. She twisted this way and that, looking for whatever caused that horrid sound, when she heard a soft noise.
The pitter patter of feet running? She turned in time to catch a flying something hitting her chest, knocking her over. She screamed as she was scratched from collarbone to her nonexistent breast.
She landed on her back, and a blast of air left her. The next thing she knew, the thing went for her throat. She screamed and lashed out with a wild punch.
She hit it, she felt it, and she shoved it off of her desperately. She scrambled back, and stood up. She had no time to think. The thing recovered quickly and charged her again.

She screamed again, crying as she desperately kicked at it. It dodged, and lunged at her leg. She hopped back and stumbled on a rock, almost falling again.
She saw the thing stalking her, circling her. It wanted to kill her. Eat her. Her heart hammered. Her chest hurt so much. Why? Why was all this happening to her? She continued crying.
She didn't want to die. She was panicking. She didn't want to die. She wanted to throw up. She didn't want to die.
"I DONT WANNA DIE!" She screamed in rage, terror, and desperation. She quickly scooped up the rock, and the creature charged.
She watched it, and when the thing jumped at her, she stumbled to the side, and desperately swung the rock. With a crunch, she stumbled away. She turned to look for it, and saw it lying still. It's head was caved in. She had won.
She fell to her knees, and wretched. She vomited once, then twice. She was bleeding heavily, and she was so tired. Her head was cloudy. What...
She collapsed to her stomach, bleeding. Dying. Her last thought as she fell into unconsciousness, was simple.
I..don't want to die... momma... help... ple-
Nezekiri's POV
I looked down at the child, her lifeblood slowly spreading. She had done poorly. But, everyone's first battle ended poorly. It was the duty of one's seniors to drag the new recruit through their first battle safety. But this child, she had no one.
She had nothing exept my pity. In this case, on this day, it was enough. She had won her battle, and lived. She had heart enough.
I made my decision.
