I was eventually called to attend to the cryptek. My internal clock said it had been about 1 and 3/5ths years. I had no idea if that was quick for making weapons, but it was in truth, an inconsequential amount of time. Besides, clearing my mind and organizing my memories was always a productive use of time.

I went to the closest teleporter, and simply teleported to the crypteks chambers. The rooms in the area that the crypteks of the dynasty were largely unadorned, and Vekiopet's was no exception. Maybe his workspace was better, but I digress.

I was greeted by a cryptothrall, and it indicated I should wait. It took weeks, but the cryptek finally arrived. I bowed, and he waved his hand magnanimously.

"Please, up. I have little time to dawdle. Please observe." He said. He reache behind him, and grabbed a pistol from a following cryptothrall.

"This" He shows the pistol. "Is an adjustable strength gauss pistol. Here, connect with it." He hands it to me. I carefully grasp it in both hands, and send a bit of myself into the weapon. I see what he means.

"It has the ability to adjust the strength of each shot. From a gauss flyer, to a gauss cannon! Oh, but you have no idea what I had to do to complete this! Why, all the miniaturized techno-" I tune him out, and just examine the pistol.

It seemed he liked to pontificate, but this was far more interesting. He was correct in that each shot could be stronger then the last. The cost, was firerate and range.

For each stronger shot, it took longer to charge again, and it's range was shorter then their proper counterparts. So while tuning it to cannon levels would give me more range then flayer levels, both had shorter ranges and longer followup times then proper flyers and cannons. But for the size and wieldability? So very worth it.

I would need to test charge times of course, and- "Ah, but I'm sure you don't understand anyhow. But, it was entertaining enough. This though, was by far the easier and less interesting of the two." He said, giving me the knife, or should short sword.

Either or could work to be honest. It looked like a regular straight sword, eyept the blade widened around the middle, then tapered to a wicked point. So... a leaf blade? I had no clue.

It was 2ft long, black with green runes along the entirety of the sword. It had a handguard, but it still allowed me to maneuver it freely enough. It was a good design overall, but it was a redesign, I knew.

"This was overall a simple redesign. But, I had to make it somewhat interesting for myself. But, it's just a short hyperphase sword. There is nothing else to it." He said.

"Thank you, honored cryptek. Your work exceeds any hopes I could have imagined. Your work, is without any equal I have seen." My voice whispered out. I could see the cryptek twitch a little. I suppose my dark whispering voice unnerved him. Heh.

"Of course, deathmark. We work for the good of the dynasty, and all work should be to the greatest of standard." He says.

I nod, and bow. "I will leave you to your hallowed work, honored cryptek. Be well." I say, and just for fun, I sep back, and through an opening portal. It closes behind me, and before I go, I could see the cryptek flinch. I chuckle audibly, and let the portal close. It was time to test my new weapons.
