[Mana Shield] (Common) – Temporarily creates a protective barrier that absorbs incoming damage using Mana.
With a weary but triumphant sigh, Max dismissed the notification, feeling renewed strength and clarity coursing through him. He quickly threw the free points into Strength and closed the window.
The moment the Beast hit the ground with a thunderous final thud, the shimmering barrier that had blocked access to the rest of the island flickered, then dropped like a curtain being yanked away by invisible hands. A cool breeze stirred the treetops, and for the first time since entering this world, Max could see past the edge of his confinement.
At the same time, a new icon blinked into existence on the upper corner of his HUD.
[Tutorial Store Unlocked]
Max instinctively focused on the icon.
[Warning: Store access is restricted during combat or within 10 minutes of recent combat activity.]
“Of course,” Max muttered. “Because god forbid I treat myself after almost dying.”
He groaned, reaching into his bag to pull out a health potion, downing it in one go before chugging a mana potion immediately after. Even after both, he still felt bruised and battered. With a sigh, he held his hand over his ribs and focused.
[Lesser Heal activated.]
A soft glow settled over his torso, easing the worst of the damage. Ten long minutes passed as Max paced in place, muttering about delayed gratification.
Finally, the warning lifted, and Max accessed the long-awaited tutorial store.
What he saw made his jaw drop.
It looked… familiar. Too familiar. The interface was clean, sleek, and suspiciously similar to any online retailer he’d used back on Earth. Tabs lined the top of the window: Weapons, Armor, Potions, Tools, Skill Orbs, Utility Items, Crafting Materials, Misc.
Most of the good stuff was grayed out—items locked behind higher levels or unavailable due to his current tutorial status. Still, a few things were live and in stock.
Curious, Max tapped on the Sell tab and dragged one of the crude goblin-made health potions into the box.
[Confirm sale for 25 Credits?]
He accepted—and in an instant, the vial vanished from his bag.
“Whoa,” Max blinked. “Fast shipping. Amazon could learn a thing or two.”
He tried the same with one of the health potions he’d brewed himself. The system valued it a little higher—50 Credits—not much, but enough to give him a strange sense of pride.
Then, he moved to the Weapons tab… and saw it.
Staff of Power (Rare)
- Increases spell damage by 20%
- Reduces Mana cost of all spells by 25%
- +3 to Intelligence, +3 to Wisdom
- Requirement: Level 5+ | Class: Mage
- Price: 4x Genesis Crystal
It cost almost all the Genesis Crystals he’d earned from defeating the Beast. But the second he laid eyes on it, Max knew—this was the one. Especially after the damn beast broke my other staff.
[Purchase Confirmed.]
[Item Acquired: Staff of Power]
The new staff materialized in his hand. Sleek, blackened wood with silver inlays ran the length of its shaft, topped with a shimmering blue gem that pulsed softly with arcane energy.

Max turned the staff over in his hands and grinned. “Oh yeah. You were worth every damn crystal.”

Max pulled himself away from scrolling through all the goodies the store had, intending to back out of the store altogether, when a new tab caught his eye:
[Information]
Curious, he opened it—and nearly choked.
There weren’t many items listed, but one stood out immediately.
[Multiversal Primer: Tier 5 – 200 Credits]
A foundational information crystal designed for newly integrated individuals. Covers: The System, Tutorial Framework, Tier Progression, Cores, Currency, and Travel Restrictions.
Max blinked. “Two hundred credits? That’s… almost more than everything else combined.”
But his hand hovered over the confirmation button anyway. He thought about how many times he’d wondered what the hell was going on. How many moments he’d just been winging it—hoping he wasn’t missing something important.
[Confirm Purchase?]
He accepted.
The second he did, a glowing crystal the size of his palm materialized mid-air and dropped gently into his hand. Max stared at it, still baffled by how instantaneous the delivery was.
“Seriously. Amazon could never.”
Without knowing exactly why, he pushed a thread of energy into the crystal. A gentle warmth spread through his hand as the gem lit up—and just like that, a mental connection clicked into place. It wasn’t like reading a book, not exactly. More like unlocking a folder in his brain that had always been there but hadn’t been opened until now.
Multiversal Primer – Tier 5 Tutorial Edition
Welcome, Initiate.
This document has been tailored for individuals currently participating in Tier 5 System Integration. Your experience is unique and personalized. The following data is shared across all integrations to provide baseline context.
[Respawn Protocols]
Tutorial Realms vary in structure and difficulty.
WARNING: Most tutorials do not permit respawns. Death is typically permanent.
Some exceptionally rare Tutorial Realms may contain revival mechanisms—these are determined entirely at System discretion and are not guaranteed.
Proceed accordingly.
[Classes and Progression]
Every integrated individual selects one of three Core Paths: Warrior, Mage, or Healer. These represent fundamental approaches to combat, survival, and power acquisition.
At Level 50, individuals unlock their Tier 4 Evolution, enabling powerful class branches such as:
- Elemental Mage → Flamecaller, Cryo Arcanist, Arcane Warden
- Healer → Vital Mystic, Plagueweaver, Guardian Priest
- Warrior → Warlord, Duelist, Berserker Knight
Paths evolve based on decisions, achievements, affinities, and system recognition.
[Cores and Energy]
Each individual possesses a Core, which stores refined energy (Essence). This energy is gained through combat, crafting, smithing, cultivation, or consumption of rare materials like Genesis Crystals. At higher levels, users may gain greater control over how Essence is channeled into their Core.
Your current Tier (5) does not yet support manual Essence allocation.
[Credits]
Credits are the System’s baseline currency. They are used to purchase items, knowledge, or services within System-linked zones, such as Tutorial Realms, Outposts, or stabilized worlds.
Credits cannot be manually farmed and are only generated through System-approved methods such as item sales, killing beasts, quests, or achievements.
[Genesis Crystals]
Genesis Crystals are a universal multiversal currency and a refined energy source. They can be:
- Traded on higher-level markets
- Consumed for slow cultivation
- Used as fuel for advanced techniques, formations, and crafting
- Required for high-end purchases or Class Evolutions
Crystals are ranked by Tier (E through A), with E-Tier (Tier 5) being the lowest.
[Tutorial Realms]
Every Tutorial Realm is unique to the individual. While common elements may occur (combat, crafting, dungeons), environments, encounters, and opportunities are shaped by the System based on the individual’s growth potential, mental resilience, and projected pathing.
No two individuals share the exact same tutorial.
[Travel Restrictions]
During your tutorial integration, progression is managed via System-enforced barriers. These barriers manifest visibly within tutorial environments, appearing as shimmering walls of energy. These will unlock incrementally as you grow in strength, complete quests, and meet key System milestones.
Upon return to your home world, similar restrictions will persist. Areas will be level-restricted for varying durations to ensure balanced population development and minimize premature conflicts with overly evolved beasts or threats. Unlike the visible barriers of Tutorial Realms, these planetary-level restrictions will be invisible yet completely impassable—no individual will be able to enter or access restricted zones until they meet all listed System requirements.
Additionally, newly integrated worlds remain closed to multiversal travel for an initial period of fifty (50) standard years. This protective isolation allows indigenous populations to stabilize, establish defenses, and adjust to System integration safely.
Alternatively, planetary isolation may end earlier—only if and when the world’s designated Planetary Leader decides to initiate and authorize a teleport link with another faction outside their native universe. This decision carries significant risk and potential benefit and must be carefully considered by planetary authorities.
Max blinked, reeling slightly as the information settled into place.
“So… no wonder I haven’t met anyone else.”
The idea that every person got their own path, completely crafted for them, made sense—but also raised questions. Big ones.
And then something else clicked.
“Wait—does that mean everything I’ve encountered so far... the dungeon, the goblins, the map, the Beast… all of it was designed for me?”
He swallowed hard.
If that was true, the System wasn’t just adapting. It was planning.
Finally past level 5, and with the Beast defeated, Max eagerly set foot into the newly accessible region. Beyond the fallen barrier stretched a landscape that matched what he'd imagined from the glimpses he'd caught before—a lush island filled with dense forests, rolling hills, and scattered rocky outcrops. Dominating the center, however, was something he hadn’t quite expected: a towering mountain rising abruptly from the island’s heart, encircled by another shimmering barrier. Even from a distance, Max could see rocky slopes climbing steadily upwards, hinting that reaching the mountain itself would be no simple feat. This new barrier mirrored the appearance of the first, clearly signaling another level-restricted zone that he couldn't yet enter.
With this new area looming far ahead—impressive but frustratingly inaccessible—Max decided caution was still his best approach. Armed with his newfound confidence, freshly replenished mana pool, and the promise of resources available through the recently unlocked tutorial store, he chose not to risk venturing toward the cliffs just yet. Instead, he returned to the safer strategy of hunting dragons near the now-fallen barrier’s edge, determined to steadily build his strength until sunset.
