All that is left are the tier 1 alphas. Each one is in their den with another four wolves. Heading toward the first den Helo enters stealth and slowly makes his way inside. The den is a tunnel leading into a basketball ring sized cave where five wolves are laying on a bed of leaves and dirt. Looking around Helo doesn’t find anything interesting and slowly makes his way over to the bed. Helo isn’t tricking himself, if the giant rats could sense his attacks, then so can the alpha wolf. One thing Helo learned is that the other basic forest wolves can as well but they are not fast enough to dodge.
So, making his way closer Helo decided to attack the two wolves closest to the entrance tunnel. As he is plunging his blade down undenounced to him the alpha can feel a mixture of instincts and Helo’s killing intent. Quickly rousing the two wolves being attacked instead of a clean kill Helo injures one’s eye and the other’s shoulder.
Quickly diving out of the way Helo is hit by a howl that makes his head ring. Realizing that this is the first skill that has ever been used on him Helo rolls on the ground to avoid any attacks.
Thankfully he moved because a wolf pounced where his body was. Getting up Helo lost one of his knives and sacrifices his left hand to stab his knife into that same wolfs head. As its dying body drops to the ground it releases Helo’s hand and it’s a gruesome site. The next wolf is already leaping at him with its jaws open. Jumping left he slashes its shoulder and get tackled by another wolf. As this wolf bites his left arm above his injured hand he bites its neck.
Dropping his dagger in favor of his own claws Helo claws the throat of the wolf attacking his arm. Dragging his arm free it is quickly healing. But another already has his leg. Growling Helo kicks the wolf and jumps up in time to avoid the razor-sharp teeth of the alpha. With another howl Helo stumbles and is tackled again. This time falling on top of the wolf that attacked him he rakes its sides while biting it.
Feeling the blood flow into him and start healing his leg Helo feels the alpha claw his back. Quickly flipping over he just barely dodges a deadly bite to the neck and is able to get his hand on the alpha’s jaw. Grabbing it he uses his legs to launch the Alpha over his head. Quickly getting up he finishes off the wolf that was below him and goes after the final injured wolf. This is the initial wolf whose shoulder Helo stabbed.
Just as he gets to it, he can feel the alpha getting closer through his aura. Jumping over the injured wolf Helo uses it as a shield before killing it with a slash to the neck. Draining some blood, he stands up and looks into the furious eyes of the alpha.
The next fight is a series a feints and lunges. Both are scratched and injured and the alpha is far more intelligent than Helo realized. He is thankful for the opportunity because he learned not to underestimate a tier 1. But Helo now knows he will win this. Once his healing went away, he could do more damage with his dark attribute. After that while extremely painful Helo knows that with the blood of the alpha Helo can heal from his injuries.
Finally, when the fight came to an end both combatants are tired and bleeding. Falling on the wolf and drinking the last of its blood Helo falls asleep when he is laying. After the blood did its work, about 20 minutes later Helo wakes up and looks around.
“Damn, that was worse than the squirrels. He was quick, strong, and intelligent. Plus, he had a mana skill. That sucked.”

“Well, I am definitely completing this floor.” Heading to the entrance to the tunnel Helo made his way outside. As soon as he stepped into the forest, he felt his perception shift just the smallest amount. He noticed things he normally wouldn’t, it was like whatever tree he was closest to was whispering to him what was on the other side. It was almost the same as his aura but without being noticed.
“Actually… This gives me a great idea for my aura perception. Right now, anyone can feel it. But… Huh. Another thing to do after the dungeon. I don’t have time.” Making his way toward the next wolf den that was to his left Helo found the entrance and slowly made his way inside. This one had the same set up except two of the wolves were sleeping at the entrance to the cave. This is convenient. Slowly making his way forward Helo chooses to attack the wolf on the left, then the right, then retreat to the trees and hope they follow.
Walking forward Helo prepares his knives and as quick as he can stabs it in the rib, hopefully in the heart. Moving over he can hear the alpha rousing all the other wolves with a howl. As the next closest gets up Helo just made it in time to stab his blade under it chin.
Turing around in a flash he drops all stealth and runs out the tunnel. He can feel through his aura a wolf directly behind him. As soon as he enters the forest, he drops his aura perception and enters stealth. The wolf can still see him even if he has some shadows around him. But the wolf can’t sense him with his other senses and to a canine with a powerful nose this can be confusing. Dashing to the left behind a tree he watches through this new unique perception as the wolf assumes he circle around and lunges to the right of the tree only to meet the sharp end of a knife. “Wow this perception is amazing. Just think how great my aura will be when it is untraceable and can be up all the time.”
Sheathing his blades and climbing the tree he ran behind, Helo looks down on the alpha and its final pack member. The alpha howls at him making him loose his grip. This howl was far stronger than the last ones. As he is falling Helo recovers enough senses to grab onto a falling branch. The pack member leaps into the air and catches Helo’s leg pulling him down. As he is falling this time, he gets one of his knives out and drops the tip into the wolf who is clinging to his leg. As this happens the alpha takes ahold of his arm that is holding the knife dragging his hand away. Luckily for Helo he has two. With his free hand he grabs his final knife and drives it into the wolf.
As both wolves are dying Helo drains some of their blood. Healing his arm and leg, then getting up.

Getting up and staring into space Helo starts to make his way toward the next wolf pack. “So that first time experience buff must have been huge. But I still gained almost 6,000 from this fight and next time it will be higher due to my title increasing.”
After thirty minutes of running Helo arrives at the third wolf den. Resting for another thirty Helo heads into the tunnel. This tunnel is larger than the last, about 10 feet by 10 feet. This is a lot bigger than the last one. Arriving at the cavern Helo is surprised by two things. First his perception is still augmented. It seems like caves or dens are counted by the upgraded title. The next surprise is that this time the wolf Alpha is huge. This whole time the wolves were normal sized. Maybe even a little larger than normal. But now this Alpha dwarfs all the others. It is laying in the middle of the cavern with the other wolves laying on and around it. But it looks like it would stand at least eight feet tall. I see why the tunnel is so much larger now. “Identify”

Peak Forest Wolf Alpha
Tier 1 Level 15.
This version to the Forest Wolf Alpha has already gained a second skill making a powerful body compared to others of its kind.
As soon as identify went off the alpha’s ears perked up and it whipped its head directly toward Helo. With a loud howl, “Awooooooooo” all the wolves leaped up and dashed toward the exit.
Stunned briefly by the howl Helo turned on his heels and ran. The wolves were directly on his heels and Helo can only be thankful that while its body is far stronger its mana isn’t making the howl more powerful than the last one.
Barely making it out of the tunnel exit Helo can feel the jaws of a wolf coming closer to the back of his head. Leaping to the side he narrowly dodges the wolfs lunge. Rolling to his feet Helo directly runs toward a tree near him and with a swirl of smoke digs his claws into the tree and starts pulling himself up.
The wolves are leaping to try and catch him but he is already too high. That is until he hears all the wolves go quiet. Looking back, he can see the alpha already in the air. It hits the tree with a violent shudder. The lowest branches are cracking under its weight. Pulling himself up with his arms the wolves jaws wrap around the branch he was sitting on and with a crunch rip it from the tree.
Hearing a yowl Helo looks back down from his position wrapped around a tree branch like a panda. Seeing the wolf falling he breathes a sigh of relief and climbs on top of the branch. With his feet under him Helo starts moving toward the next tree over. Smoothly jumping from one tree branch to the next he smiles at the feeling of running freely. He knows he is being hunted but this feels like a good challenge. Eventually he will turn the hunt around.
Stopping for a moment to make a plan Helo decides that if he is going to win, he needs to go after individuals. To lead the astray he needs them to branch out. Right now, all the wolves are together and chasing him.
Pushing his aura concealment to the max Helo sweeps through the trees like a ghost and leaves the pack behind. Once the pack stops and starts looking for the trail. Helo starts intentionally dropping his scent concealment in multiple locations around the pack. Close enough that they are all still together but far enough away that Helo can still move. With five locations near the wolves that have his scent he chooses one at random and makes a trial further away. As the wolves are searching, they catch is scent and howl to another in communication.
One of the wolves finds the trail that he left and it wanders further away from the others. As soon as that wolf is about twenty feet from the others and looking around Helo waits in his position over is and launches himself toward the unsuspecting prey. He can hear the alpha make a noise and lead the pack toward him but it is already too late. With a flick of his blade Helo leaps back into the tree and jumps away. Only to hear the tree that he just left shudder as the Alpha hits it. I don’t understand how they can sense when I’m about to attack. Is it some aura? Instincts? I don’t know killing intent? Just another thing to research.
With one down and four more to go Helo repeats the process one more time before the alpha changes its approach and now, they are all huddled together. So, two more to go and the alpha. Waiting Helo sees the alpha make a motion of its head and they all start walking back toward their den. Circling around Helo waits in the bushes near their den and as one of the wolves walk by Helo deftly kills it. This draws the attention of the final two and they both lunge. One after the other with the alpha in the rear. Catching the teeth of the first wolf on the blade of a knife Helo parries while using the force to push him away from the alpha lunge. With the second blade he cuts the alpha along the side of its snout.
Shows off a fang filled smile Helo taunts the Alpha, “Well that is me three and you zero.” The alpha can’t understand him but it can hear the disrespect in his tone. Growling in anger it lunges again. The alpha is much larger and far stronger than the other wolves. Thankfully for Helo still has a slight speed advantage and that is only because of his smaller size and how well he moves through the surrounding trees. Ducking behind a tree as the alpha moves past he runs forward and plants his foot on a tree in front of him barely dodging the second wolf that flanked him. Doing a 180 spin in the are and a half flip Helo lands a slash on the wolf lunging underneath him.
With no time to rest Helo gets his blade up and blocks another lunge from the wolf. Again, going with the momentum instead of fighting it Helo jumps back in time to dodge a swipe from the wolf’s claw. As the next swipe comes Helo takes it on his blade again. Slashing out he lands a light slash on the front right foreleg of the Alpha. Watching the wolf lunge again he can only sigh as the slash barely affected it. Dodging back, he takes the now recovered normal wolf on his chest. Stumbling back Helo quickly stabs at its neck his blade digs in only for the alpha to return from its lunge and take another swipe at him. This time the claw connects with his back. Sending him forward over the injured wolf Helo lands with a “UMPFFF” and stays there in a daze. Trying to pull in a breath Helo thankful still has his blades in his hands. Rolling onto his stomach his gets up to snapping teeth directly in his face. Rolling onto his back, he brings his legs up using his hands he pushes himself over his shoulders unto his feet.
The song and dance continue for another ten minutes. In this time the normal wolf has fallen from its wounds and Helo is staggering. He gasping for breath and clenching his teeth in pain from all his wounds. The alpha has cuts all over but its increased physical attributes seem to focus on endurance and strength. Laying on his back Helo watches as the alpha looms over him. Snarling down its blood drips down its neck and onto Helo. This entire fight he relied on his dark attribute to penetrate the alphas hide. Its endurance was too high, along with its coating of fur for Helo’s slashes to penetrate.
With a snarl and a hunger for blood in his tired state Helo drives his knife into the neck of the Alpha and is rejuvenated as the blood pours over his body and into his mouth. Holding back the alpha with one hand on his knife and the other on its jaw, Helo still isn’t strong enough to push it off but with his increased strength he can hold it back.
Due to the outpouring of blood Helo can feel his cut up body slowly healing. Unknown to him any open wound that has fresh blood pouring over it is healing much faster. Almost like the wounds are attracting the blood itself.
After another minute of struggle, the alpha is starting to flag. Thanks to the constant influx of fresh energy Helo was able to hold out. With on last heave, he pushes the alpha off him and rolls onto his stomach. Slowly getting back up Helo can feel that the blood can only do so much at one time. He truly is exhausted. Hearing notifications go off he ignores them and goes to the nearest stream. All that is left of his clothing are his family necklace, a pair of jeans that are now short shorts with holes and his belt that holds his blades. Thankfully his crotch is still covered.
Laying in the steam as the running water washes away the blood Helo stares into the sky as the notifications appear.

Falling asleep in the stream Helo wakes up feeling much better. The soft ground in the stream mixed with the influx of vitality Helo received after the fight has him feel much better. Then there is the increase in stats, they make him excited for what is to come.
Getting stronger feels great. The agility and dexterity make him excited to run through the trees. Back in his forest he was able to do this but it was tough and he was only able to do it because of his strong instincts. Now it feels like he is dancing through the branches. He feels much stronger as well. He can almost lift as much as a powerlifter. But he is most excited about the strength because of the ease of movement. Jumping long distances is easy now. With his perception is feels like there isn’t a thing that can get by him. And his will and vitality as his favorite. Playing with his aura and its interactions with his bloodline, is something that he has done for years. It is almost natural now for him to have it active in some way. It is also much easier to control now.
With a sense of joy Helo heads to the final boss. After this he gets to enter the tier one version of the dungeon. Making his way toward the final den Helo is surprised when a wolf that is hidden leaps out at him. It’s only thinks to his high perception that he noticed, saving his life. Leaping back, he dodges the jaws by inches, only for a second pair of jaws to materialize over the first and latch onto his shoulder stopping his jump. With a cry of pain and a hard landing the second pair of fangs hold onto him for a moment longer before dematerializing. Looking up a screen flashes briefly.
Low Uncommon Forest Wolf Alpha
Tier 1 Level 15 Variant.
This uncommon version of the Forest Wolf Alpha has a strong body but its true strength lies in its keen mind and mana skills.
As soon as Helo hits floor the rest of the wolf pack jumped out of the trees from behind the alpha. So, this is a tier 1 creature; common tier. But it has a low uncommon rating. Helo thinks as he gets up of the floor berating himself for letting his awareness drop. All the other alphas waited inside their dens. That didn’t mean that this one had to.
Looking around he can see that the beasts are starting to circle him. Turning to flee the alpha is watching with keen eyes and lets out a howl. This howl forces Helo who now has his back turned to stumble. It also strengthens the other wolves for enough time to lunge. Two miss due to the stumble, but the other two leave deep claw marks on Helos back.
With a shout of pain Helo pushes through and makes his way into the forest. He is unable to get into the trees because of the alpha’s howls and the other wolves lunges. So, Helo is forced to flee on the ground as four wolves attempted to corner him. Slashing out wildly Helo can feel that his cuts are draining blood. His comparatively low endurance means that the attacks did a lot of damage. But his high vitality should have stopped the bleeding. The foot chase is forcing the closing wounds open.
As he dodges under a lunge he rolls under a fallen log and realizes that this can’t go on. The alpha’s howls are constant. He has a lot more mana than all the others and his pack is coordinating well. Helo thinks as he throws himself to the left. Getting to his feet he slashes his knives and draws blood. Feeling desperate Helo licks the blood off his blades as he is running.
This boosts him with enough vitality and physical enhancement to close his back wounds and also leap into a tree. With his enhancements the howl has little effect on him. The feeling is also fleeting. It wasn’t enough to wash away his weariness. With a sigh Helo takes off again this time in the trees hoping that the wolves lose him. He slashed out enough through the chase that the wolves should be injured. Remembering how strong they were Helo looks over his shoulder.
Forest Wolf
Tier 1 Level 11
A common evolution of the forest wolf. A slight increase in physical abilities with a similar increase in the ability to work in its pack.
“Oh, well that explains that.” Helo says while turning forward and continuing forward. While running he sees a fallen tree on the ground ahead. Dropping to the ground he dodges a wolfs lunge by rolling on the ground as he rolls his right blade flashes out drawing blood on the lunging wolf. Getting back to his feet without losing any speed Helo side steps another wolf, again drawing blood. This game continues for the next thirty seconds as he runs toward the fallen tree. Drawing blood again Helo starts running up the trees truck. Treating it like a ramp he runs up and jumps into the air, tucking his legs up at the last moment he dodges the alpha’s materialized fangs. Back in the trees he looks down to see the injured wolves. Looking at himself he can see a few cuts but they are already healing.
“Hah! I wonder how long you all take to heal!” Helo shouts down, stumbling from the howl of the alpha, Helo frantically grabs for a branch almost falling into the jaws of death. With a “Hupf” the alpha turns in a circle around the tree truck.
Calming his beating heart Helo continues on his way. It also has shown itself to be intelligent enough to set a trap, he doesn’t want to see if it can climb as well. Eventually all the other wolves are too tired from running and their loss of blood so they are slowing down. Taking the chance Helo jumps into the tree tops and conceals himself before doubling back as the wolves continue forward, he drops onto the final wolf and quickly ends it. This continues for the next wolf as well before he is finally noticed. Taking a deep drink of the wolfs blood he can feel the energy of the tier 1 beast flowing through him. If normally his increase was about 25-30% to his physical attributes now it is like 35%. Taking another deep breath and seeping into a quick meditation Helo can feel the energy being sept into his blood stream and flowing through his heart empowering his bloodline. With how much he has consumed he has about 30 seconds of empowerment.
Baring his teeth with a snarl Helo steps over the downed wolf and lunges forward into the Alpha. With a blade against the alphas jaw Helo leads the snapping fangs up and over his shoulder in a diving roll. Coming up on the alphas left side he quickly slashes his other knife creating a would along its left flank. This alpha doesn’t have as high of endurance as the last one.
Hearing the other wolf leave the ground Helo does a back bend with a mix between a smile and a smirk and he drives both his blades up as the beast passes over. As the blood pours over Helo’s body, he smiles and continues backward, rolling back to his feet. The wolf lands in a crash, with a final whimper it dies as well.
While circling one another Helo and the final Alpha are testing another with lunges and quick movements. With deft hand movements Helo continues to parry and redirect the alphas attacks. With his heightened physical senses, he falls into a semi trance and hears a system notification.
“Bing”
Ignoring it for now Helo can feel the trance slipping away as the extra power flows out. With the final dregs of extra power Helo sacrifices his left side in a spin to the right. Feeling the claws penetrate deep Helo yells as pain starts to cloud his mind. As they are penetrating into his arm an extra set of claws materialize stunning Helo. They drag through his arm cutting it off and cutting open his rips.
Shouting in pain and shock Helo finishes his spin. With his mind clouded in pain and the shock of losing a limb, the last flakes of his powerful will pull together as the golden vitality of his bloodline is replaced by the darkness of his curse. With a weak concept of Nihilism flowing through his veins his aura is empowered with the ability to nullify and pierce defenses.
Finishing his spin with his right hand out and blade held backward he drives it into the beast’s temple stopping its jaws from closing on his throat.
Dropping to his knees in shock Helo stares at his fallen arm. Letting go of his blade he crosses his right arm over his body holding his intestines from falling out. Coughing up blood Helo’s vision starts to darken and he falls over onto the body of the alpha.
Reaching out he grabs his left arm and brings it closer to his body. As his eyes darken and the life fades, the last thing he hears is a mocking noise.
