62. United We Stand

With our individual training complete, it was time for us to come together as a team and face the ultimate challenge: a simulated tournament match against wave after wave of enemies. Mizuno set up the simulation, her fingers dancing over the terminal as she brought up holographic displays of our opponents.

"The first wave will consist of a team of magicians, followed by mecha-users, speedsters, and reality manipulators," Mizuno explained, her voice steady and determined. "After that, we'll face whatever else they throw at us. Remember, coordinate your attacks and cover each other's backs."

I nodded, feeling a thrill of excitement course through me. "Let's do this. United we stand, divided we fall."

The simulation materialized, and we found ourselves in the middle of a sprawling arena, surrounded by holo-projected stands filled with cheering spectators. The first team, the magicians, appeared before us, their robes billowing dramatically as they began to cast spells.

"Alright, everyone," Mizuno said, her voice cutting through the din. "Remember the plan. Stick to your roles and let's show them what we're made of."

I took a deep breath, centering myself as I prepared to face the onslaught. With a battle cry, I charged towards the team of magicians, my Dumb Aura emitting waves of confusion that caused their spells to misfire and fuse together in a spectacular display of arcane chaos.

Misty followed close behind, her armored form plowing through any obstacles in our path. She lowered her head and neck, gaining speed and momentum as she activated Steadfast Charge, barreling into the line of magicians and sending them crashing to the ground, stunned.

Sassy darted past us, her Hyperactive Hunt skill kicking in as she weaved through the enemy lines, leaving a trail of disrupted and malfunctioning drones in her wake. She used her Playful Pursuit to increase our movement speed and slow the magicians, giving us the edge we needed to take them down quickly and efficiently.

Mizuno hung back, her fingers dancing through the air as she hacked into the magicians' systems, turning some of their spells against each other and creating even more chaos. She also invoked Arcane Hacking to disrupt any incoming magical attacks from other nearby units that we could not see, preventing them from casting spells that would impede our advance.

As the magicians fell, the mecha-users took their place, their sleek exoskeletons gleaming ominously as they took up defensive positions. I activated Dumb Nova, unleashing a nova of pure dumbness that dealt massive area-of-effect damage and left the mechs severely confused and disoriented. They began to attack each other, their coordinated formation falling apart as they snapped and snarled at one another.

Misty charged, her Thunderous Gallop skill creating sonic booms that dealt massive area-of-effect damage, while Sassy used her Whirlwind Kick to send mechs flying, disrupting their formations and providing openings for Mizuno and me to strike with powerful combos of Techno-Blast and Dumb Strike.

The speedsters were a blur of motion, their forms darting around the arena with inhuman quickness. I used Dumb Magnetism to create a gravitational well, slowing the speedsters' movements and giving us an opening to strike. With Radiant Blast, I sent waves of radiant idiocy through the speedsters, causing them to crash into each other and providing me with the opportunity to take them down with Dumb Strike.

Misty stomped the ground with her powerful hooves, activating Ground Shaker to create shockwaves that disrupted the speedsters' movements and knocked them off balance. Sassy used her Chaotic Energy field to increase our attack speed, giving us a chance to perform additional attacks and take down the speedsters quickly.

The reality manipulators were the most unpredictable, their magical illusions and technological distractions making it hard for us to focus on any one target. I switched tactics, using my new skill Dumb Blessing to bestow a portion of my idiocy upon Misty, temporarily enhancing her abilities and making her dumber (and therefore stronger).

Misty charged, her movements becoming more erratic and unpredictable as she played into her enemies' expectations. The reality manipulators fell for it, their attacks becoming more wild and indiscriminate, causing them to turn on each other in confusion.

Seizing our opportunity, we dashed forward, our powerful legs propelling us through the enemy lines. I used Dumb Magnetism to pull the reality manipulators towards me, closing the distance and delivering a powerful Mind Wilt, causing their illusions to shatter and their distractions to fail.

With a final, powerful Blinding Radiance, I sent a blast of pure stupidity through the remaining reality manipulators, causing them to age rapidly until they turned to nothing but dust, their magical abilities no match for the power of dumbness.

But our victory was short-lived as a new wave of enemies appeared: a team of necromancers, their robes tattered and eyes glowing with an eerie light. They began to cast spells, raising the fallen magicians, mecha-users, speedsters, and reality manipulators from the dead, granting them temporary invulnerability and increased strength.

"Great," I muttered, "just what we needed."
