52. Infiltrating Logic

After some discussion and analysis, we decided to enter the Realm of Logic. Our plan was to infiltrate it, subvert its local controls, and use that foothold to eventually take over the entire realm and redirect it to the path of dumbness. We geared up, our new evolutions thrumming with power, and stepped through the portal.

The Realm of Logic was a stark contrast to the chaotic battlefield we had just left. Everything was clean, ordered, and efficient—almost sterile in its perfection. The architecture was angular and precise, with towering spires of metal and glass reaching towards the sky. The air hummed with a low, constant buzz, the sound of countless machines working in harmony.

Our immediate goal was to reach the local control node within this city and subvert the machine overlord that ruled it. Mizuno led the way, her Holographic Mapping skill creating a detailed map of our surroundings, highlighting the fastest route to our target.

As we moved through the city, we attracted attention. Drones hovered nearby, their cameras tracking our every move, and occasional patrols of machine soldiers marched past us, their footsteps echoing off the metallic surfaces. We kept a low profile, sticking to the shadows and using stealth whenever possible.

Suddenly, an alarm blared, and the drones swarmed towards us, their lasers humming to life. "Looks like we've been spotted," I said, a grin spreading across my face. "Let's give them a show."

I activated Dumb Aura, emitting a wave of confusion that caused the drones to stutter and veer off course. Beside me, Mizuno summoned her Holographic Duplicate, the copy fighting alongside us as she hacked into the drones, turning some of them against their former allies.

Sassy dashed forward, her Hyperactive Hunt skill kicking in as she weaved between the drones, her chaotic energy causing them to malfunction and crash. Misty charged through the midst of the battle, her Armored Rush sending drones flying and leaving a path of destruction in her wake.

I focused on taking out the larger threats, using Dumb Strike to disable their systems and Stupid Surge to overload their circuits. My newly upgraded skill, Radiant Blast, proved devastating, sending waves of radiant idiocy through the drones, causing them to attack each other and leaving them in smoldering heaps.

As the battle raged, Mizuno used her Arcane Hacking to disrupt the reinforcements, buying us time to reach our goal. We fought our way through the city, leaving a trail of destroyed machinery in our wake. The local control node loomed before us, a towering structure of metal and circuitry, pulsing with power.

Inside, we found the machine overlord, a towering construct of metal and lights, its eyes glowing with an eerie intelligence. It turned to face us, its voice echoing through the chamber like thunder. "Intruders detected. Initiating elimination protocol."

Mizuno stepped forward, her eyes glowing with determination as she activated Quantum Entanglement, linking herself to the machine overlord. She began to hack into its systems, her fingers dancing through the air as she manipulated complex algorithms.

The machine overlord resisted, its form flickering as it tried to shake off Mizuno's influence. But she was relentless, her Techno-Mage skills allowing her to counter its defenses and breach its core. With a final surge of power, she subverted the machine, its eyes changing from cold intelligence to warm, fuzzy stupidity.

"I have control," Mizuno said, a satisfied smile on her face. "This local machine overlord is now ours to command."

With the local machine overlord subverted, we turned our attention to the local area. What had the Empire of the Smart been doing since its conquest of the realm, and what did it bode for our mission against them?
