As Misty charged forward with another Thunderous Gallop, an underground drone equipped with a whirring circular blade popped out of the ground. The blade sliced through Misty's legs, cutting them cleanly from underneath her. She neighed in pain and shock, collapsing to the ground, immobilized.
Sassy landed from one of her acrobatic pounces, only to be ensnared by a shimmering technological net covered with sadface and angry face emojis. The net pulsed with energy, blocking her friendliness and rendering her unable to use her skills effectively.
John Smart watched the chaos unfold, his evil villain speech in full swing. "You see, my dear adventurers, you were but pawns in a much larger game. The Brightish will rule supreme, and there's nothing you can do to stop it!"
He turned his attention to me, his eyes glinting with malice. "And as for you, Amy, you've been a thorn in our side for far too long."
He raised a device, and a beam of immobilization ray shot out, striking me square in the chest. I froze, my muscles locking up as the ray coursed through my body, rendering me unable to move.
Dr. Genius' space laser began to fire on our position, its beam cutting through the air with a sharp hiss. The agents discharged their weapons simultaneously, a barrage of bullets and energy blasts raining down on us.
