Chapter 15- The News

“What do you mean you are here to clean?” Damien approached the man, who was ringing out the mop, and continued mopping. Every time he swiped across the blood trails, they polished and vanished instantly. Damien approached him and took his shoulder. “Hey, excuse me, sir.”

The Janitor smacked his hand sending a gust of wind, Damien skidded backwards but remained on his feet, his eyes staring in awe. ‘So much power…’ Damien thought before rubbing the back of his head, “I don't appreciate being touched young man, Between you and the other kid this is getting to be a pain in my neck!” The Janitor remarked, Damien's eyes widened, ‘another kid?’ but before he could respawn the entire dungeon rippled and Damien stood outside, his hand on the door.

“Its locked…” Damien said, almost as if he had never entered into the building in general. Opening his status he could see all the levels he had gained.

  *Level 9*

  Stat points- unused27

  skill points- 9SP unused

Damien stared at his stat points and all he had gained, a lot of it was heavily from the dungeon itself. However, his stats were higher then they were when he first got the system and he hadn’t used his stat points yet. Damien pondered, it had to have been from the random encounters quests and the actual physical labor he had to go through to accomplish everything.

‘The pluses are from the sword and Core. This raises me up quite a bit, but I should keep hold of my points till I'm in a dyer situation.’ Damien told himself before hearing someone suddenly shout, “Hey kid! What are you doing, this is a restricted area!”

Just like that, Damien took off in a dead sprint.

By time he got home, it had only taken the time there and back, all the time spent in the dungeon had not passed except for roughly a minute. It reminded him of a hyperbolic time chamber from a show he watched. Time inside traveled faster then time outside of it.

Sitting down at his desk he began to read more of the forums he had found the other day. The Janitor had mentioned another kid, which made him wonder if this could have been that kid as well. Was he still active, and if he was why had it been 10 months since the last time he had made a forum post.

Going through each and every tidbit he could find nothing new came out of it he hadn’t already known. What Damien did see though, much to his surprise, was that this kid had reached level 100 by the first couple of weeks. Damien was level 9, and had it for almost a week and this kid had sped through it. “Core, how did this person level up so fast?”

Core slowly appeared in his view point with hands on his hips and he hummed, “He leveled up so fast cause he began speed running harder quests. Without you doing your skills and stats your levels are a little slower. So that's a big reason why you two aren't leveling so fast.”

Damien was quiet for a minute trying to think it through, he could on one hand, put all of his points around and even do the same with his skill points but on the other hand he still needed to figure out how he wanted to use his stuff. He needed more levels and he wanted to experience more before he started automatically pumping skills and points into things. He wondered if he could unlock stuff by himself anyways.

This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.

Damien pulled out his phone and tapped it against the table before flipping it open and sending a text to his buddy Hatchet, “hey, I know its been a week but I need your help.”

“Hey buddy, of course, what you got?”

“Do you think you could find information on someone?”

“Depends on the person but I can Shirley try.”

“Heres the link to a forum list, if you can help that would be amazing.”

It took a few minutes Hatchet finally texted back, “is this for your video game?”

  “Sure, something like that.”

  “On it.”

With that Hatchet went to work. He could trust Hatchet but at the same time he was worried about what he would say if Damien revealed he was seeing a leveling system. To most people it would be a first degree visit to the psych ward.

As for Damien, he needed to find out what to do about his skills and his stats. He had the points to do something with them but he wasn’t sure if it was on his to do list. He didn’t want to ruin his build and right now he was on top of the world. Viewing the skills option he saw a wide range of abilities he could learn.

Damien examined the skills and the possibilities for what he was able too learn, these were the ones he found the most interesting out of all the options. Clicking his tongue a few times he slowly read the short description of each one. He wasn’t sure which one would be the best choice, Morale was a mystery it was a gamble and with his Morale not even showing it was hard to indicate what could be useful with that stat.

Building dungeons sounded fun, but who would explore them and what was the benefit of actually doing it, it was also too vague for his liking. However, Crafting 2 was a given he snagged that bad boy up leaving him with 8 skill points left.

Looking at the crafting table he noticed he could see the items that he could build and for double the crafting price he would be able to increase the quality. His new whip could be re-made but for godly, which was tempting, it was 1 million per item, it would take weeks to collect all that but definitely a bookmark for if he got bored enough and wanted to.

Upgrade could be interesting, while criteria wouldn’t be known right away, it was definitely worth getting.

The Blue print thing though, if he could use it to equip items that were real world would allow for him to do a lot, the thing was could he change and upgrade the items? If he was to take them would they work the same as real world items or could he combine Blue Print with Upgrade and create better items?

Camouflage was a no brainer, if he wanted to get armor and better equipment he needed a way to make it look like clothing. With the Skills he was looking at, the ones he thought were relevant to his build at least, he only went with three other ones Camouflage, Blueprint, and Upgrade. For a total of four new skills and leaving him with 5 more skills he could use for a later date.

Damien let out a loud sigh and clapped his hands together, before he heard a vibrate of a text message on his phone. Swinging around he picked it up, it was Lucy at first he wanted to smile until he read the text.

Lucy-”Billy’s friends Jason and Brody are missing.”
