The fog got less, both could see more what would happen.
A teenager and a woman. The teenager was the only other person that could move freely even though Lorken′s aura, the woman was another participant in the exam.
Riven looked nervously over to Veylan and whispers “We should go. What do you think?” even though Veylan is mostly serios, even he just nodded uncomfortable back. Right as they wanted to move on, they heard a loud slash. The woman got on her knees; he almost made her lose her head! Her head and the rest of the body only stayed connected by a little part of skin.
Veylan and Riven held their hands tightly at their mouths, not daring to let a sound out, Riven even wanted to poke but was so scared his body couldn’t!
He turned around and continued walking as nothing ever happened, the two only heard him mumbling: “You’re not betraying me…” now they were even more confused.
A few minutes later they could move again, also continuing. “D-did you hear that? How insane is this guy?” Even though Veylan was shocked too, he thought about earth. Such people aren′t that special in this world. On earth such people would be the most dangerous killers, here they are also feared and special but much more normal! “I can’t waste time thinking now. I need to concentrate on this exam, hehe…this world is really weird. Already the fact that everyone like me can participate on an exam were when you win you get a license to be almost completely immune for the law and not even need to do something outside the exam is just pure insanity!”
A little later they came across two paths. “Which should we take?” Riven asked unsure. Veylan tried to look for footsteps in the snow to avoid the teenager; to their luck they saw footsteps in one direction.
They speeded up their speed a little and did not encounter the young teenager, they only saw some other participants or at least their dead bodies.
At a small cliff they saw it. The top of the mountain! “Riven, what do you think how many hours we have left? I think we can get up in two to three hours.” Before Riven could answer, a big snowball rolled at them, after the first multiple others came. “DAMN! This shit gets annoying!” Riven complained with a red face of anger.
They waited for a bit trying to search for a rhythm and safe spaces. “I found a place that no ball reaches, at my sign we are running.”
This story has been stolen from Royal Road. If you read it on Amazon, please report it
Veylan was patient as hell, unlike Riven, little time later Riven complained; right then Veylan made a sign. It worked.
Continuing this process worked well until they finally made it out of this area. There was a little cave with a fire, someone sat eating. There he sat. He ate a human; they both weren’t worth his look; staring at his food he said “Trying to kill you would be just a too big and unnecessary effort; just get away…” Both started running for their life, but he held his word.
Between them and approving the first exam there is only one obstacle left: time. Even though they are a lot faster now and solved the problem of cold with the infinite fire ball; they still need to be there in time.
But to their fortune they are not going to encounter any other big obstacles like the ice turtle. Up the mountain the examiner stood, thinking “I wonder how many people are still coming, there are only four hours left. To be honest I expected this guy who came unconscious to the exam to be one of the first to arrive. From someone who I expected to come even earlier is this one teenager; what was his name again? Draven or so?!” Suddenly the duo arrived at the top.
“Hehehe…congrats; you officially approved the first test of the Alecti license.” The examiner said excited and pleased.
Veylan had to think about Alecti, were ever this world where he got teleported to, someone that gets the Alecti license with all the benefits didn’t just have an overpowered license; someone would be with a license a true Alecti. An Alecti had more worth than a normal human. In this world the planet isn’t called earth, it called Alecti. Rumors say that it means that everyone with the license is the actual population and everyone else is just an alien.
Both didn’t sleep for two days and nights, falling instantly to sleep. Later in the morning it’s said that they arrive the next day, he looked around in the zeppelin, there not even halve the participants left and there is a leaderboard with the fastest participants reaching the top. The first place is Lorken, the second place is someone called Talen, Veylan doesn’t know why but he thinks that this is the chess genius. The last place is someone called Draven, he also somehow knew that this is the scary teenager, only a few minutes later and he wouldn’t approved.
Suddenly he heard a familiar voice. “Hey! Did you sleep well? I definitely did! And the food is really good here!”
“Riven. I am doing good; did you also hear that the next exam starts tomorrow?” Both were afraid that I maybe start at night because midnight technically is the next day.
It was a rest day, but he still tried to observe Draven and Lorken, especially those two. The two decided to sleep early because it was unpredictable when the next exam begins.
Exactly as they expected, everyone got forcefully woken up at three AM. Many were sleepless, even though both didn’t sleep very good or enough they had probably the longest and best sleep of all of them. Another examiner had a big smile on his face and said “This exam is going to be really interesting, hehe…let’s begin with the rules…”
