  AUXILIARY TEAM FIELD LOG

  (For Review by J-LOC)

This report is submitted by the Auxiliary Team for J-LOC review and archival.

Filed by (Name / Call Sign):

  M’gann M’orzz / Miss Martian

  Team Affiliation / Role:

Auxiliary Team – Telepathic Support / Reporting Officer

  Date of Report (YYYY-MM-DD):

  2045-03-03

Mission Designation / Reference ID (if applicable):

  AUX-MET-02-LeadSite

  Location(s) of Operation:

Metropolis, South Industrial District – Subterranean Utility Access (approx. 40 ft below street level)

  Operation Timeframe (Start – End):

  14:12 – 16:03

  Objective(s) Assigned:

  — Investigate anomalous energy signature consistent with prior recovered devices

  — Assess structural integrity and functional state

  — Determine risk of activation or signal transmission

  Objective(s) Completed:

  — Device located and documented

  — External structure mapped

  — Signal activity monitored (no detectable broadcast during observation window)

  — Device extracted for League-controlled analysis

  — Team withdrew without triggering activation

  Summary of Events:

The team responded to a localized irregularity matching a prior device signature. The installation was located beneath reinforced foundation plating and shielded extensively with layered lead containment.

Superboy exposed the primary casing by removing surrounding debris without breaching the device’s core structure. Minor peripheral damage resulted from the necessary force of extraction; however, access to the target was achieved quickly. Kid Flash maintained perimeter sweep and traffic diversion aboveground, rotating between visual reconnaissance and vibration monitoring. Wonder Girl assisted in debris stabilization when load distribution shifted during exposure of the lower casing.

This device differs from previous recoveries in that it appears intact and actively powered, similar to the unit located by Superboy two weeks prior. Component spacing suggests intentional energy flow rather than residual assembly. External ports and antenna-like structures indicate potential communicative or synchronization function.

The team determined that removal for controlled analysis aboard the Watchtower presented lower risk than extended on-site observation. Extraction required Kryptonian- and Amazonian-level strength. Superboy established initial separation of the unit from its anchoring points; Wonder Girl reinforced the lift to maintain balance and prevent destabilization. The coordinated approach reduced environmental strain and minimized risk of accidental activation. The device has not activated as of this filing.

Anomalies / Unidentified Technology / Unusual Phenomena:

  — Lead shielding likely configured to obstruct Kryptonian visual-spectrum penetration

  — Single maintenance panel left partially unshielded (possible controlled service access point)

  — No detectable outbound transmission within standard League monitoring ranges

  — Internal power source present; origin unknown

Observations were relayed to Robin, who remains off-site with Batman. Based on description, he proposed that previously recovered devices may have been operating at slightly mismatched frequencies, resulting in mutual interference rather than coherent transmission. This hypothesis warrants controlled testing. Kid Flash independently articulated a similar theory using non-technical analogies; the underlying conclusion was consistent.

  Threat Assessment (Observed or Suspected):

Moderate to High (activation trigger unknown).

Shielding implies anticipation of Kryptonian discovery. Structural philosophy bears loose resemblance to Green Martian obfuscation methodologies (informal comparative reference only); however, no Martian technological markers were identified. I do not believe the origin is Martian; comparative review will continue to confirm or eliminate parallel development.

Intent and activation conditions remain undetermined.

Civilian Presence / Impact (if any):

  No civilian interaction during timeframe.

Injuries / Damage Sustained (Personnel or Environment):

  No personnel injuries.

Minor structural displacement due to debris removal. No critical systems compromised.

Actions Requiring Follow-Up or Higher Authorization:

  — Controlled internal examination under League supervision

  — Expanded low-band frequency monitoring

  — Archival comparison with Martian structural methodologies

  — Municipal permit review within affected sector

  Additional Notes / Personal Observations:

With Robin off-site, decision-making during this operation was collaborative. Disagreements occurred regarding threat classification and extraction timing; however, discussion remained mission-focused and resolution was reached through consensus.

Superboy voiced frustration regarding both his assignment to the Auxiliary team and the authority of the Justice League in determining that placement. He briefly challenged the decision and expressed concerns about autonomy and imposed oversight. Following clarification of operational parameters, he adhered to assigned limits and completed the mission without deviation. Ongoing dissatisfaction appears linked to issues of independence rather than opposition to the mission itself.

Kid Flash requested clarification regarding the team’s long-term structural status, specifically inquiring whether the Auxiliary designation represents a temporary assignment or a developing operational unit. The inquiry suggests interest in clearer continuity and defined structure, particularly in the absence of direct leadership during this operation.

Wonder Girl recommended formalizing engagement procedures for subterranean and concealed-site operations, citing recurring architectural and technological similarities across recent encounters. The suggestion was discussed on-site and may merit formal review.

The team remains engaged with mission objectives. Internal disagreements appear reflective of uncertainty regarding status and protocol rather than lack of commitment. Despite the absence of a designated lead during this operation, members demonstrated willingness to negotiate approach and adapt in real time.

  TEAM MEMBER COMMENTS (Appended Post-Submission)

  Superboy:

Glad we aren’t [REDACTED] calling this low risk anymore. It was buried. Shielded. Built expecting me, or my [REDACTED] family, to find it. This wasn’t random junk. It was intentional. Very intentional. Glad the reclassification went through. Of course I was [REDACTED] “expressing frustration.” I was voluntold onto this team because you and I were asking the right [REDACTED] questions.

Also how much attention were you paying to me?

WHO IS [REDACTED] EDITING MY COMMENTS? I TYPED WHAT I TYPED. I KNOW FOR A FACT THE JUSTICE LEAGUE DOESN’T RUN [REDACTED] CURSE FILTERS.

  Kid Flash:

Okay, so imagine a radio yelling into a canyon. The canyon yells back. But if the canyon’s shaped weird — or like, specifically weird — the echo lines up just wrong and the whole thing kind of cancels itself out. Like two waves high-fiving so hard they both wipe out.

That’s sort of what I think happened with the other sites. Not broken. Just… stepping on their own signal. Which sounds stupid, but that’s kind of how interference works.

And if you tune it on purpose, you could probably make it stay basically silent until something shows up humming at the exact same pitch. Then it’d spike. Like, “oh, hey, that’s the one.” Which is cool. Not cool cool. More like concerning-as-[REDACTED] cool. You know what I mean.

Also if we get jackets, I’m voting lightning bolts. I’m not arguing about this.

And yeah, I agree with Conner. I didn’t mean to curse, but if I do, can we just… leave it? It’s how I talk.

  Wonder Girl:

The shielding is deliberate. The spacing is deliberate. The concealment is deliberate. Everything about the [REDACTED] thing was deliberate. Someone wanted it found, eventually, but not easily. That suggests timing. We should assume this is part of a larger network until proven otherwise. Recommend we do not treat the intact state as accidental.

Also, seriously. We are teenagers. We curse. Some of us (yes, Conner, that means you) more than others, but this is not new information.

  Miss Martian:

I think we did really well today. That could have gone a lot worse, and it didn’t. Everyone adjusted fast, even with all the uncertainty. Conner, your concerns made sense. I just think we handled them productively.

As for the edits… I honestly don’t know who’s doing that. The League didn’t mention any kind of automatic filtering system. It might just be some review thing we weren’t told about yet. Let’s not spiral until we know more, okay?

  Superboy:

I blame Damian. The annoying [REDACTED] isn’t even here and somehow he’s still meddling with our [REDACTED]. Also Cassie, i dont need your snark

  Robin:

You are aware that I can read this, correct?

  Superboy:

I AM VERY [REDACTED] AWARE. WHEN YOU GET BACK HERE WE ARE HAVING WORDS. VERY [REDACTED] LOUD WORDS.
