HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSSSP….
CLUNK! CLUNK!
CLUNK! CLUNK!
THOSE WERE THE NOISES THAT SOUNDED OFF from the rather thunderous footsteps that both Magnus and Kaze made whilst they walked down the detracted Loading Ramp to their Astro-Light Freighter in their separate suits of Voltairan Knight Battle Armor.
As the two made it down the ramp, they were immediately greeted by the twenty Voltairan Knights that had surrounded their ship after its successful landing.
“WELCOME, BROTHERS!” one of the Voltairan Knights greeted Magnus and Kaze before giving them a ‘Voltairan Salute’.
Looking at one another quickly, Magnus and Kaze both turned to the Knight and gave him salutes in return.
“So, where did you two come from?” the Knight asked. “The Tractor Beam’s scan on your astro-vessel says that you have not been in Voltairan Air and Star space for the past six month-cycles.”
“Tis true… Brother,” Magnus said through his helmet’s voice modulator. “We have been gone for… Quite some time.”
“Gone ‘where’ exactly?” another Knight asked upon approaching the duo. “What kept you two away from Voltaira for so long that it took six thracking month-cycles for you both to return???”
Kaze began to sweat nervously within his armor as Magnus turned to the second Knight and easily lied, “Scouting.”
“Scouting?” the second Knight asked in confusion.
“Yes, ‘brother’... SCOUTING… KREN scouting. My fellow ‘brother’ and I were away… FAR AWAY from Voltaira scouting countless worlds for potential ‘Kren Hives’.”
“Ah, I see. And I trust that you were ‘bountiful’ in your half a cycle of scouting, brother?” the first Knight asked Magnus.
“Hopefully,” the second Knight hissed. “The more ‘Kren-Aligned’ Worlds that the Galactic Deciders ‘break’ the grander. Heh, heh, heh…”
Turning his lensed eyes over on the second Knight, Magnus glared at him intensely.
The World-Breaker wanted to disembowel the sadistic second Knight with his telekinesis, but he was thankfully and luckily stopped by Kaze.
“We WERE bountiful!” Kaze abruptly said to the two Knights. “GRANDLY BOUNTIFUL. So bountiful that the emperor himself granted us both the permission to leave our scouting… Temporarily to return to ‘grand old Voltaira’ for a little ‘R&R’. Heh, heh…”
“R&R,” the second Knight repeated in confused suspicion.
“Did I thracking ‘stutter’, Soldier?” Kaze sourly asked the second Knight, causing him to gain a glare.
“At the Grand Celebration?” the first Knight asked Kaze.
“Huh?” Kaze huffed in confusion.
“Yes,” Magnus answered from alongside Kaze. “My fellow ‘brother’ and I were going to take part in the festivities at the Grand Celebration… BUT FIRST we have come here to gain access to ‘the Prisoner Pits’.”
“You mean the ‘RAXX Pits’?” the second Knight asked Magnus.
The Breaker of Worlds looked at the second Knight in confusion whilst Kaze glared at him hatefully from beneath his helmet.
“Why in the thrack would you want to journey down to the thracking Raxx Pits,” the second Knight continued to ask in a disgusted tone through his helmet’s voice modulator. “If what you and your ‘companion’ says is true, and you have been ‘off-world’ for six month-cycles, then why in the bloody thrack would you want to go down to that cursed place? Tis full of wastes of life-cycles… COUNTLESS wastes of life-cycles.”
“What did you call them?” Kaze pressed as he took a step towards the second Knight.
This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.
“What?” the second Knight huffed.
“The Prisoner Pits… What did you just call them???”
“The Raxx Pits. Tis what they SHOULD be referred to as. Any other ‘designation’ would be far too ‘decent’ for the PERMANENT dwelling of all those ‘Kren-Aligned thrackoids’ that we razed from all of the worlds who surrendered themselves to the ‘holy and forever valiant’ Galactic Deciders.”
Filled with indescribable rage, Kaze wanted to lash out at the second Knight, but he was stopped by Magnus’s telekinesis.
Kaze then looked down at his balled up armored fists that were kept down at his sides against his will.
Grunting, Kaze looked to Magnus to see that he was looking directly at him.
The young Jorrakan then gritted his teeth as Magnus requested from the ‘aloof’ Knights, “If you would be so kind as to escort myself and my ‘brother’ here down to the…”
“RAXX PITS,” the second Knight spurted with a smirk directed towards Kaze, angering the former Jorrakan Slave even more than he already was.
“PRISONER PITS,” Magnus continued ‘correctly’ whilst looking at the second Knight for a moment before turning his eyes back on the first. “Tis would be ‘grandly appreciated’, brother.”
“Well, if that’s where you and your companion here wish to go whilst during your ‘R&R’ then so be it,” the first Knight nodded, “Come… THIS WAY. I shall escort you both down to the Pits myself.”
“Grand thanks,” Magnus nodded to the first Knight, who turned his shoulder and began walking towards the Hangar Bay’s entrance into the Prisoner Pits.
Releasing Kaze from the ‘invisible hold’ that he had on him, Magnus instructed, “Come, brother.”
“Urgh… Very well,” Kaze grunted as he set his sights back on the second Knight. “As you thracking wish…”
The second Knight looked at Kaze in confusion as the young Jorrakan took off to join Magnus and the first Knight.
“My name is Arjun… Elliat Arjun,” the first Knight said to Magnus whilst Kaze trailed from behind. “What be yours, brother?”
Reading the name of his suit’s original owner from his Battle Helmet’s Inner HUD, Magnus answered, “Raedyn… CAPTAIN CHRISTEX RAEDYN. Behind me is ‘PRIVATE Randis Teaug’.”
Kaze nodded to ‘Elliat’ as the second Knight ushered, “And I be Justan Yahr.”
“Grand to know,” Kaze said sourly, gaining a glance from ‘Justan’.
“Why is that, Teaug?” Justan asked Kaze.
Kaze chose not to respond, causing grand suspicion within Justan.
Approaching a big, golden-doored elevator car, Elliat said, “Here we are. Our grand and only entrance down into the pits. I trust you both have been down there before?”
“Unfortunately,” Kaze said bitterly.
Elliat looked back at Kaze strangely whilst Magnus said, “Yes… WE HAVE.”
“Then why in the thrack do you want to go back down there?” Justan asked the World-Breaker.
“Because tis where we wish to go… Skogger,” Kaze snapped at Justan.
Turning to Kaze quickly, Justan asked, “Skogger? Who in the thrack are you calling a ‘skogger’, you raxx-eating PRIVATE-CLASS?!”
“You… SKOGGER!” Kaze snapped again, angering Justan grandly.
Before tensions could flare up anymore the doors to the elevator suddenly opened up.
“CEASE!!!” Magnus raged, catching Justan off-guard whilst Kaze kept him under an intense glare.
“Cease?” Justan huffed in confusion as he now turned to the ‘undercover’, former ‘Commanding-Leader’ of the Galactic Deciders. “You think just because you’re ‘Captain-Class’ that you can give me orders? Is that what you thracking think, Raedyn?!”
Magnus kept his lensed eyes on the now opened golden elevator’s insides whilst Elliat added, “Rayden is right, Justan. Cease… NOW. Do not make me tell you again.”
Justan grunted in anger as he looked back at Kaze to see that he was still staring at him.
This disturbed Justan slightly as Elliat turned to Magnus and said, “After you… Brother Rayden.”
Magnus nodded to Elliat before stepping inside the elevator.
Elliat, Justan, and Kaze followed in suit.
“Alright. Now, before we depart, are you both absolutely certain that you still wish to go into the pits?” Elliat asked both Magnus and Kaze cautiously. “As you already know, tis not the most ‘pleasant’ dwelling on Voltaira… Let alone the whole thracking Galactic Sector.”
“We are certain,” Magnus quaintly answered.
“Take us thracking down there,” Kaze quickly snapped.
The constant angry tone in Kaze’s voice stirred Justan as Elliat nodded, “Alright… VERY WELL.”
