Chapter 103: Jiggle Returns

  Saki

I awoke to the suddenly loud sound of splintering wood and cried for help. Jumping out of bed and beginning my shift back to my Foxkin form, I turned to look at Tama. She was passed out, most likely from all the stress of yesterday.

It was a big day and something we had been trying to avoid. Knowing it was inevitable, however, I had done what I could to soften the blow. I would continue trying—poor Tama didn't deserve her fate.

I turned to the door and waited for a moment before grabbing my clothes and putting them on. They smelled bad, but in the whirlwind of everything happening, Tama and I hadn't been able to clean our clothes at all for weeks. Unless you count the time Tama put my dress in the dirty river and then used her water to clean it. Surprisingly, she did really well. It was honestly the Ravine, sleeping in the dirt, and the worst part—that whole fight between Tama and Tristy where they destroyed the training ring outside the city.

I cringed as I looked back over to Tama. Somehow she had gotten in the same state of half-undress as always. I wondered if her Sensei usually undressed her for bed or something. The poor girl and clothes... Then I remembered something.

"Anna, why are you on her like that!" I snapped.

The clothing shimmered, showing Anna was giggling before she coalesced into her little girl form and bowed. This time she had pigtails for some reason.

Her blonde hair in twin knots. "I am sorry, Royal Advisor Saki, I was simply going based on Queen Tama's memories!" She tried to sound serious, but I could see she was shaking from giggles.

I narrowed my eyes and asked, "Is that so?"

Anna opened her mouth to speak, but at that moment the whole building shook as the screams got louder. I opened the door, quickly checking on Tama—she was still passed out. I swear that girl could sleep through a hurricane.

I rushed out of the room, Anna hot on my heels as we rushed down the hallway and jumped down the stairs two at a time. When I got to the bottom I paled and tried to go back up. It was too late, however, and the massive boar rammed me as I turned, throwing us both through the side wall and into the alleyway next to the building.

I stood and dodged, barely missing Jiggle's tusks, and put up an earth barrier. Remembering a second too late that Jiggle could break my barriers. He rammed through it like it was papier-maché and rammed me again. I went careening for over ten feet and smashed hard into the brickwork behind me, causing it to shatter and for me to cough up blood. I saw as Anna jumped onto Jiggle and tried to enter him, only for Jiggle to instantly eject Anna to my shock and horror.

I instantly did the only thing I could think of: "Tama, Tera is looking at you naked!" I screamed.

Tama appeared behind me in seconds and looked around. "Where!" she cried in fear.

I snapped my finger and pointed at the boar right as he turned to charge me again. "Look, it's Jiggle!" I said, panicked. I instantly clutched my ears seconds before it hit.

"JIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGLLLLLLEEEEE!" Tama screamed so loud the nearby windows shattered as she blinked in front of me. Anna jumped on her, shifting into her gi as she did. Tama grabbed hold of Jiggle's tusks right as he reached us.

She used the boar's leverage with her own strength to basically launch Jiggle directly up into the air above the nearby buildings. I stared in shock as Tama blinked up, grabbed Jiggle as she giggled madly, and did a twirl with him as she threw him hard across the city.

I didn't know where the boar went, but Tama disappeared a moment later. I sighed in relief and sat down against the wall. A nearby church healer rushed over to me. She healed me and I thanked her. Slowly, I stood to my feet again and stepped back to see the damage. It was bad.

The entire building looked like a tornado had gone through it. There were adventurers and civilians alike all either unconscious, maimed, or somewhere in between. No one had been left standing, not even the tables and chairs were spared. I looked out the shattered hole in the wall near where the door used to be.

Royal guards and city guards alike were rushing down the street in the direction Tama had thrown Jiggle. I had better hurry before things got out of hand. I didn't need an entire city of guards dead because of a misunderstanding.

I rushed out of the inn and down the street as fast as I could, dodging civilians running from Tama and Jiggle. Multiple adventurers were right behind me, clearly responding to the crisis from the adventurers' guild.

Multiple were helping people out of wreckage, healing the injured, and just cleaning up the mess, while others came with me to reach Tama and her pet boar. The poor fools—they would die if they tried to engage. But that wasn't my problem.

I reached the end of the street and saw a large crater where Jiggle had landed. Neither was anywhere to be seen at first.

Then Jiggle was flung from the alleyway on my right into a nearby wall. Multiple adventurers attacked the boar using different elements and a few fighters got close enough to swing their swords at him.

I winced at the really coordinated attack. I also watched as the spells did nothing to Jiggle and the swords bounced off, not even leaving a scratch on his thick hide.

"Of void, of course he is immune to magic, because why not!" I said, exasperated.

Tama blinked over and announced loudly, "Yay, more people want to play with Jiggle!"

I facepalmed hard as I tried to reach her. I was too slow and she blinked over to Jiggle as he stood. Jiggle was much faster than anyone else. He easily outsped them all and rammed into a nearby adventurer.

She went flying into a nearby wall even as multiple fireball elementalists hit him with a barrage of fireballs. They didn't even leave scorch marks as Tama yelled out, "Silly adventurer people! Sensei made Jiggle immune to magic!"

The royal guards finally showed up and completely ignored Jiggle, making it a point to surround Tama and protect her.

That's when Talia appeared. She was so quick I didn't see her. She was suddenly by Jiggle and the two of them were in melee combat. Jiggle was using his tusks to fight Matriarch Talia to a void standstill. Just how strong was this void boar?!

Finally, Talia managed to get a hit on the boar and Jiggle went flying, Tama going after him, royal guards following her as she blinked towards Jiggle.

At first I was confused, then I remembered the map! I quickly pulled it up. I quickly found and watched as a green dot named Jiggle moved very fast towards the west city gate. A purple dot followed quickly behind the green dot clearly being Tama.

An orange dot right behind Tama called Petalia right behind them both. I sighed and just sat down on a nearby bench in the destroyed square. Sometimes keeping up with Tama was just... Tama.

I watched as the dots landed outside the city gate, and from the way the dots moved, it seemed they were all attacking each other in some kind of three-way fight. As I stared, suddenly the map zoomed in and I could actually see them from a bird's-eye view.

Shocked, I reached up and tapped, and it zoomed in on Tama as she blinked under Talia's hammer and kicked Jiggle into a nearby outer wall.

I stared as the three had an amazing battle that I could now see as if I was watching from above.

I was so caught up in the fighting I didn't notice him until I felt a tap on my shoulder, pulling me from my focus and the map disappeared.

Standing in front of me, red-faced and panting from having run all this way, was Lyran, holding his book and a staff. I smiled as I asked, "Are you okay?" I felt my cheeks redden slightly and I quickly created an illusion to hide it.

"Yeah... I... just... got... up... Where is... Tama?" he managed to wheeze out.

I smirked and said, "Where do you think?" I pointed towards the gate.

He nodded somberly. "I had a feeling," he stated simply before turning to the gate. We both watched as more adventurers ran past us stupidly to their possible deaths.

"They don't stand a chance," I said quietly.

He simply nodded and responded, "Not even a little."

He turned to look at me and asked, "Why aren't you watching the battle? It is certainly fascinating, if not terrifying, to watch Tama fight."

I nodded and asked, "Why aren't you?" My smirk widened and my eyebrow rose.

He blushed and looked away. "Not feeling suicidal today is all."

"Really? You seem like you were so intent a moment ago!" I said cheekily.

He laughed bitterly and said, "I just wanted to make sure you were okay. I had a feeling Tama was involved when I heard a rampaging boar was destroying the city. I just didn't know the boar in question was her pet."

I nodded then frowned. "Wait, how did you know that?" My tail curled around my stomach and my eyes narrowed.
