"Thud, thud, thud" the ground rumbled as the sounds of steps were heard by everyone at the boarder.
The tree's shock from their every step and rocks danced at the southern boarder.
"Damn they really choose to come in this heat" he wiped the sweat off his forehead as the sun stood at its peak.
A few chucked hearing the mans words but that was short lived as with every step their enemies took the tension thickened in the air.
"Open the gates!" An red armoured figure standing at the top of the wall spoke as he looked to the figures approaching from the mountains.
The screeching of metal rang through the terrain as the gate opened, the red knight turned to the man in black armour by his side.
"Tell the mercenaries to step outside and form a defencive wall" the man in black armour froze, his eyes widened hearing the madness of his superior.
"Sir those man will die" he spoke back but the red knight didn't bother to look at him.
"they will die defending their nation that is a great honour worth much more than their lives" his jaw clenched as be looked at the sight of demons far beyond his count but the red knight continued "for such lowly mercenaries, they should be thanking me for allowing them feel what honour is before they die".
As the black knight was about open his mouth, the red knight continued "do not waste time trying to discuss the morality of my choices when we barely have any time to begin with".
"Now leave and tell those mercenary captains to trim down the enemy lines as much as they can with those minuscule skills of theirs" for a moment the red knight smiled and so did a few knights around them.
"Tsk" the black knight walked off with his hands balled into fists, he had long suffered at the hands of this arrogant nobles even when he became a knight.
They didn't respect skill nor talent all they respected was their bloodlines and if you were a commoner who had any skill or talent they would feel threatened, and as a result they would suppress your growth by limiting your opportunities.
He stepped into one of the towers that interconnected the boarder wall and glanced back with a clenched jaw then.
A stone engulfed in flames appeared heading where the black knight once stood next to the red knight.
"Damn" the red knight drew his sword and swang at the flaming rock heading his way.
The rock splint into ten peaces while the flames moved to the knight sword, he sighed in relief looking at the sight then.
"What are you waiting for Don, move!!" the red knight shouted.
Not wasting anytime he ran down the stair while the knights cut down other flaming rocks fly toward the wall 'the wasn't any artillery among the demons' he thought running past floors 'they must have mages'
'Tsk' the presence of mages was annoying because the tyrants domain currently didn't have any mages, not because of financial reasons or anything but because the duke saw their presence as a threat to his rule.
It was easier to learn magic than it was to learn swordsmanship because of this the duke never allowed any mage to step into his territory, he thought they would teach the commoners magic but now.
The territory was at a complete disadvantage against long range magic.
He jumped over someone's head and bounced off a wall turning left as he ran to the exit 'if the mercenaries go outside they'll die before ever scratching a single demon'
He stepped outside stone tower with the gate still screeching behind him while stones of flames kept on flying toward the southern wall.
He looked to the mercenaries that stood ready far from the gate waiting for orders and in instant he moved toward the tall figure at front "are you one of the mercenary captains?"
And in a instant Dex father and Vex group captain spoke "yes"
"Get ready to head out once the bombardment stops" he didn't wait for a response and dashed to the opening at the gate 'since the mercenaries can't deal with the mages someone has to step up'
He step outside the metal gate and moved to the trees that stood next to the southern wall 'can't let them see me'
'Since I can't deal with every mage I'll have to draw their attention' he unsheathed his sword moving through the lushes canopy of tree's avoiding the road that lead to the wall.
His blade slowly became sheathed with a blue light with each step he took closer the horde.
'All I have to do is kill some before they even activate their defence spells' the stones of flames flew over his head then.
he saw those green armoured monsters moving toward the wall on the road, he looked past them to the green figures in robes.
Pairs of mages stood surrounded by a few armoured orcs and ogres, one mage summoned a rock from the ground while the other covered it in flames and lunched it into the air.

He moved from behind the tree's.
"Crack" his first step made the ground crack as he lunged forward covering 30 steps at once.
"Kurk...agh..ark" he swung his blade and in an instant three orc that stood in front of him died while a blue arc flew from his sword and severed the orc mage that was summoning a rock in two.
Just as the orcs, ogres and goblins near him lunged at him, blue arcs flew into the air with his every swing.
The space around him grew wider as such his attacks became wider taking ten to fifteen monsters at once, it had been less than a minute since he arrived yet his presence alone had taken down hundreds of monsters.
That was the presence of a knight, even the weakest one was valuable asset in bettle.
"Abu bak atu" an orc the size of a human pointed toward him and in that moment all mages turned to him.
'Good' he smirked under his helmet as he grabbed an ogre's throat and threw it to the rock of flames ahead of him.
"BOOM..!" as the ogre and the stone of flames collided he moved under the cover of the bombardment, swiftly avoiding the other stones of flame.
Each stride left the ground cracked and anything that once stood in his way was split in two.
'I guess I'm done here' his gaze locked to the orc that shouted as it pointed toward him, the blue aura around his blade darkened turning navy.
An arc large enough to take fifty to eighty lives flew from his blade taking any life that stood in its path as it headed for the low rank commender then.
His aura only inches away from the orcs, it collided with a red aura that flew from behind the commending orc "BOOM"
'I should have known it wasn't going to be that easy' his grip tightened on his sword as he looked to the red orc behind the commender, Its figure towered over the commender orc as it held a two handed axe.
"Aku kakuka" it spoke pointing its axe at the Don, all the mages stopped and turned to the wall as red orc stared down Don then.
"Don you retarded commoner" a familiar yet annoying voice came from behind him "if I give you a fucking order you follow it"
'He probably came because he thought I'll take the battle merit when the duke arrives' Don did bother to look at the red knight as he walked past him.
The red knight sword had an aura that manifested in a form of flames only a feat that could be done at six stars.
He pointed his flaming sword at the red orc "now see commoner you would have died if I didn't come to save you, be greatful"
Other knights followed behind while the mercenaries delt with the mosters that Don had let pass him.
He looked to his superior who was a six star knight superior to the red orc that had the aura of a five star aura user 'once he deals with the red orc we will wait for the duke to arrive with knights above six stars'
The red knight stared at the orc as it smirked the monsters around it had stopped moving and the air was suddenly filled with an eerie silence then.
"Grrrrrrrrr!" a stench of rotten bodies reeked in the air as trees leaned away from the mountains.
Dons eyes widened as he looked at the figures that suddenly eclipsed the sun 'it wasn't there'
The was no logic or explanation the fanrir simply appeared staring down at the battle field.
"Thud" a knight dropped his sword as his knee trembling, men looked up with solemn expressions while few peed themselves.
The demons smirked while others laughed seeing the human trembled from the sight of the fanrir.
"Eigh...eigh..gulp" the red knight stuttered as his sword shock and its flames vanished "eigh..egh..sta..
The words couldn't leave his mouth yet everyone understood what he meant as the fanrir jaws parted and its gaze locked on the red knight.
'Run' Don thought but every muscle screamed in defiance not daring to move, the fanrir lowered its head.
'Run!' His jaw clenched tighter as the red knight stood frozen inside the fanrir's jaws.
He looked back to Don "hel....
"Chump" the beast shut its jaws before the knight could even finish, it raised its head and it's gaze turned to Don.
In that instant the world went silent, the laughter of demons that filled the air couldn't be heard and the thoughts that once told him to 'run' no longer spoke.
He stood there frozen as the fanrir lowered its jaws to him. In that moment he understood why his superior couldn't move despite being a six star knight.
In the face of absolute power what can anyone do except submit, Don stood there as he entered its jaws then.
"RUUUUUuuuuu.." a faint acho rang from the mercenaries behind knights as they fled and the fanrir raised its head and turned to the wall all men were running to, and in that instant he moved.
He ran past the knights that were frozen in front of the fanrir although it was meaningless he clenched his jaw and just ran.
His legs felt heavy from the fighting and his muscles threatening to tear as he infused aura into the them again but Don gritted his teeth and ran.
'Run' that thought echoed in his mind not daring to look back he ran with all his might.
While Don ran the other knights followed but for the knight closer to the fanrir, he faced a cruel reality of being the first to enter its jaws and to escape such fate he reached for the person near him and threw him to the fanrir.
"Im sorry" he said in hushed tone as the knight he threw into the air screamed but his screams went silent as the fanrir welcomed him into its jaws
Another body flew into the air screaming and again he was silenced, the fanrir moved to catch its snacks that flew into the air while the demons laughed.
Now survival no longer depended on strength nor speed but cunning as the knight kept throwing people into the fanrir jaws, he awarded with a few moments of life by the fanrir.
His speed unmatched by the mercenaries and they were all thrown into the fanrir jaws with some knights, the people that remained now was him and Don.
"I'll survive" he spoke with a faint smile as he reached for Don only a few steps away from the gate then.
Don turned and swung his sword severing the knights arm. The glee in his eyes vanished seeing his arm fly through the air.
Don eyes widened seeing he had cut off the arm of a comrade "I'm sorr..
As he spoke he saw the fanrir standing behind the screaming knight with its mouth drooling blood.
"RUN WERE CLOSING THE GATE!" A voice came from behind the wall.
'Should I help him' he thought but his legs wouldn't move inch close to the fanrir, with tears in his eyes the knight reached out a hand to Don and with a whimpering voice "help m.."
But before he could finish Don turned his back and ran into the wall as the gate dropped.
"Shrrrrrrr.." the gate shreeched as it dropped right before his eyes "BANG!"
His eyes had tears, his arm raised and still waiting for help under the fanrir shadow.
Its breath was foul akin to only corpses and he never looked back with those tears in his eye's, but fanrir waited its mouth drooling blood but the next body never came.
Its jaws parted while the knight stood there tears running down his face staring at the door that shut when was only a few steps away but in end the few moments he had bargained for were over and fanrir had come to collect.
Not even cunning was enough to survive the fanrir jaws.
The fanrir raised its head and looked over the wall and the sight made Don drop to his knee's while Dex father and a few man in the wall ran.
The nobles that valued their bloodline and the knights that once preached of honour ran the same with the mercenaries they considered scum, because in the end nobility and honour ment nothing in front of death and now they ran knowing the was no shame in survival.
