The girls arrived at the next area, their hearts pounding with anticipation. But before they could proceed further, Arana suddenly stopped in front of them. "Wait, there's something I need you all to know before you enter the trial area.”
The girls turned to Arana, their curiosity piqued. Zalgo spoke up, her voice concerned, "What's going on? Why have we stopped?”
Arana's expression turned serious as she looked at the girls. "Before you enter the next trial, I need to warn you about something important. The puzzles in this trial will require absolute trust and cooperation. You can't do it alone. You'll have to rely on each other completely.”
The girls exchanged glances, a mix of nervousness and determination on their faces. Rachel spoke up, her voice steady, "We understand. We'll rely on each other completely. We're not going to underestimate the power of teamwork.”
Arana nodded, a small smile playing on her lips. "I'm glad you understand. Remember, communication and trust will be key in this trial. Don't try to do everything on your own. Work together, and you'll succeed.”
The girls nodded in understanding. They took a deep breath, steeling themselves for what was to come. They had faced challenges before, but this one felt different. They felt a sense of nervousness mixed with anticipation. They knew that this trial would test their trust in each other, their teamwork, and their problem-solving skills like never before.
As they prepared themselves, Arana gave them one final warning, her voice stern yet reassuring. "This trial will be a test of your trust and teamwork. Don't let your doubts or fear get in the way. Rely on each other completely, and you'll be able to overcome any obstacle that comes your way.”
The girls nodded, more determined than ever to face the challenges of the trial. They knew that success depended on their ability to work together, to trust one another completely. As they stepped forward, they braced themselves for the test that lay ahead, their hearts beating with anticipation and a slight hint of fear.
They entered the trial area, their surroundings becoming eerily quiet. The trial area was a huge open field, the starry night sky contrasting with the foreboding scene ahead. The girls glanced at each other, their nerves starting to kick in. This trial felt different, and the eerie feeling in the obstacle course wasn't helping.
"In this trial," Arana began, "You will be moving this metal ball in front of you up to the top of the tower over there in the distance, and then push it down the hole at the top. However, this is where teamwork comes into play. You will need to also activate traps along the way that will allow you to get the ball to where it needs to go. In order to do that, one of you must squeeze through the tiny spaces and trigger the traps that will remove the obstacles blocking the ball's path. On top of that, another one of you will need to touch those glowing crystals you see. Doing that will create new paths for the ball to roll through like normal. So, you all need to decide who's going to be doing what before we begin.”
The girls looked at the metal ball, then at the towering tower in the distance, and took in the task at hand. They knew this was going to be a tricky one, and as they started to discuss their plan, they all had a gut feeling that trust and teamwork would be essential.
"I think...one of us should squeeze through the tight spaces to trigger the traps," Zalgo piped up, her voice tinged with uncertainty. "But...who's going to do that? It looks really tight..."
Alice sized up Rachel, giving a nod. "Rachel, you're pretty petite. You should be able to squeeze through those nooks and crannies with ease.”
Rachel nodded, accepting the suggestion without protest. "Yeah, I can do it. I'm the smallest one here, after all.”

Alice smiled, relief visible on her face. "Good. Then it's decided. You'll squeeze through and navigate the tight spaces. As for activating the glowing crystals..." her voice trailed off as she looked over at Zalgo.
Zalgo bit her lip, her expression hesitant. "I guess that leaves me with activating the crystals." She sighed, trying to suppress her nervousness. "But what if I mess up? Those crystals seem pretty important.”
Alice placed a reassuring hand on Zalgo's shoulder. "You won't mess up. You're just as capable as any of us. You'll do great.”
Rachel nodded in agreement. "Yeah, you've got this. Just focus on activating the crystals and trust us to handle the rest.”
Zalgo took a deep breath, trying to steady her nerves. "Alright, I guess I'm in. I'll make sure to activate those crystals on cue.”
After the decision had been made, Arana piped up, her voice commanding attention. "Good. Now, let's get started. Remember, you're a team, and you're only as strong as the weakest link. Work together, and you'll succeed.”
The girls nodded, their nerves replaced with a sense of readiness. They each took their positions, preparing to start the trial. Rachel looked at the path ahead, determination in her eyes. She knew that the tight spaces she needed to squeeze through would be difficult and uncomfortable, but she was prepared. As she prepared to squeeze into her first area, she looked back at her teammates with a nod.
Zalgo smiled weakly, her anxiety still lingering. "Good luck, Rachel. I'll make sure those crystals are activated on cue.”
Rachel nodded, a hint of confidence in her expression. "Thanks, Zalgo. I'm counting on you. We'll both do our parts, and we'll get that ball rolling in no time.”
With a deep breath, Rachel turned back towards the path, focusing on the task at hand. She took a step forward, squeezing her slim frame through a tight crevice.
Rachel pushed forward, squeezing her way through the narrow passage. The walls were cold and damp, and the space was just wide enough for her small frame to pass through. But it was a tight fit, and she could feel the walls brush against her shoulders uncomfortably.
Ugh, probably a whole slew of bacteria in these wet walls...Rachel thought with a low groan.
Despite the discomfort, Rachel kept pushing forward, determined to reach the other side and trigger the traps that their path needed. She squeezed her way through tight corners and twisted passages, feeling the damp, cold walls brush against her skin.
Rachel finally made it to the other end of the passage, her breath coming in short gasps. She took a moment to catch her breath, her body trembling slightly from the strenuous activity. The tight space had taken its toll on her, and she could feel a sore spot on her shoulder where the wall had rubbed against her body.
Taking a deep breath, Rachel steeled herself and looked around, searching for the traps she needed to trigger. The area was dimly lit, leaving just enough light to see the surroundings. In the corner, she noticed a lever, which she was certain was the trigger she needed.
Rachel reached out, her trembling fingers trembling as she grasped the lever. She took a deep breath, summoning her strength. However, as she tried to pull the lever, she realized it was quite heavy and difficult to move. She gritted her teeth, her muscles straining under the effort.
"Come on...Come on..." Rachel muttered under her breath, desperately trying to pull the lever back. The heavy weight of the lever, combined with the damp terrain and the awkward angle of the handle, made it difficult to apply enough force.
As she struggled, she could feel exhaustion creeping in. Her arms burned with fatigue, and her grip was starting to falter. "Come on, damn it..." she cursed, frustration mounting as the lever remained in place.
Then, it hit her. "Oh! The Void Magic stuff, right! I can use the Increase technique to strengthen my arms to pull this stubborn lever!" she mused aloud.
Rachel closed her eyes, focusing her mind on the Void Magic training she had undergone. She visualized the Void Magic technique she had learned from Celeste, imagining the energy from the void flowing through her arms, imbuing them with enhanced strength. A chill ran down her spine as she felt the power surge through her.
She took a deep breath and, with a renewed sense of confidence, grasped the lever once more. With her arm muscles bolstered through the infusion of her aura, she pulled the lever with ease.
The lever creaked and groaned as it moved, but it lifted effortlessly due to Rachel's strengthened limbs. The heavy counterweight attached to the other end of the lever slammed into place, resonating with a loud click throughout the area. The sound echoed through the passage, signaling that a trap was successfully triggered.
As the sound echoed through the passage, Rachel let her breath, her body still trembling slightly. "One trap down, how many more to go...?" she asked aloud, her voice filled with weariness and determination.
