Knight Title Fragment “Dual-Pathway Dominus”: Infinitesimally increases the effectiveness of all dual-fragment pathway abilities.

  It was the first Knight Title Fragment that he had earned after the formation of his Fragment Of Alnus-Viridis Protection, Fragment Of Cedarspear-Mutation and Fragment Of Carnivorous Alnus-Viridis. Dual-Pathway Dominus sounded quite powerful the first time that he saw it, although in hindsight was constrained to those that stopped ascending at Knighthood.

  Starting from Lordship, Jon would be able to form triple-fragment pathways.

  And at Barony, create quadruple-fragment pathways. Increasing the effectiveness of dual-fragment pathways might seem powerful in the short-term, although would only effect the abilities that he created at Knighthood.

  “It might be possible to combine Dual-Pathway Dominus into Three-Pathway Dominus at Lordship anyway Jon. Or even Four-Pathway Dominus at Barony. Progression between Ranks might take up to several years at that stage, and chances are that certain fragment pathways might possess abilities too unique or too powerful to risk transforming again.”

  “One of the abilities that I once possessed [Four-Layered Life-Root Barrier] was a mere triple-fragment pathway but possessed effects that I could not risk losing after obtaining a significant mastery over.”

  “At Barony I integrated a Fragment Of Domain into it in an effort to expand its reach and number of effects rather than transforming it into a quadruple-fragment pathway.”

  “You might consider doing the same in the future Jon.”

  Among the notifications that he had ignored was also Mind Killer and Lord Of Violent Transformations. Although the former had been a result of using his Fragment Of Shapeless-Carcosa to destroy the mind of the Vessel Of The Metallic Mountain.

  Jon was somewhat wary of the Knight Title Fragment granted to him by the Angel Of Transformations. The fact that the Angel Of Green was capable of communicating to him through the lingering concepts left within the Mortal Title Fragment Viridis Benedictus did not still well within his chest.

  His concepts contained within his Source were supposed to be his own. Viridis Benedictus must have contained concepts relating to ‘communication’ or ‘possession’ somewhere within, obscured beneath layers of ‘green,’ ‘wood,’ and ‘nature.’

  It was possible that Lord Of Violent Transformations possessed similar connotations, so Jon decided that it would be left alone until he could transform it into a Lord Title Fragment.

  Knight Title Fragment “Mind Killer”: Infinitesimally increases all damage done against abilities with the Mind Trait.

  Knight Title Fragment “Lord Of Violent Transformations”: Increases the effectiveness of all abilities with the Transformation Trait and Metamorphosis Trait.

  He shared similar reservations about both Ethos Of Alnus Viridis and Blessed Of Verdant Night. Jon did wonder just why the Angel Of Green would impart additional concepts into him after transforming two of his abilities into dual-fragment pathways.

  It seemed illogical and wasteful for her to grant him so many boons when there was no guarantee for a return on her investment. All of her actions were done in order to obtain Avahni and the concepts contained within her Source and Jon was neither loyal nor subservient to her cause or actions.

  Both were placed on the waiting list, for the moment that Jon would ascend to Lordship and transform his remaining Knight Title Fragments into Lord Title Fragments.

  Knight Title Fragment “Ethos Of Alnus Viridis”: Increases the likelihood of connecting abilities that share the concept [Alnus Viridis].

  Knight Title Fragment “Blessed Of Verdant Night”: Increases the likelihood of concepts born from the [Mother Of Verdant Night].

  There was also Lordslayer and Vanquisher, the unique rewards that Jon had obtained after defeating the Voracious Swarm Mother. After the System granted him another System Acknowledged Feat, he had been awarded accordingly, granted two conceptually-offensive Title Fragments, alongside a literal ‘seed of knowledge.’

  He had obtained similar Title Fragments in the past, such as Killer and Knightslayer, although presumed that their effects had been scaled upwards to match that of a Knight-level concept.

  Knight Title Fragment “Lordslayer”: Infinitesimally increases all damage inflicted onto Lords.

  Lord Title Fragment “Vanquisher”: Infinitesimally increases all damage inflicted onto Races that you have slain before.

  Knowledge contained within the Voracious Swarm Mother.

  The ‘seed of knowledge’ which existed within his Three Seas Of Knowledge remained untouched for the time being, while he focused on his remaining System notifications. Rana and Eis had informed him of the potential rewards that he could obtain from said ‘seed of knowledge’ deciding that it would be off waiting until becoming a Sixth-Veined Knight before opening it.

  Other than these Title Fragments, all of the other previous Title Fragments had been ones that he had dismissed outright. There were additional rewards that he had earned, ones that did he did not realize were in his possession until after he woke up back on Earth.

  Perhaps the most noteworthy was-.

  “Damn… I mean just… damn…” Jon could not help but whistle, leaning back into the soft cushions behind him. Soothing-Comfort Couch and Slothful-Harmony Pillows easing the pressure he placed on his flesh and mind.

  His fourth System Acknowledged Feat, the one that he had obtained after fighting against the Lord-Ranked incarnations of the Angel Of Green, Angel Of Desire and Angel Of Transformation was one that he expected.

  Although did not consider just how generous the System would be when awarding him for said achievement. Green-Desire-Transformation Anathema aside, the sheer amount of knowledge that the System had granted him was… incomprehensible.

  To Rana, as well as Song and Eis.

  “That is… incredible Jon.” Rana muttered, “I had obtained close to ten System Acknowledged Feats over the course of my lifetime. But never once had I managed to obtain rewards with such… magnitude behind them.”

  “I have heard of System Acknowledged Feats granting individuals knowledge relating to random fragment pathways, even six-fragment pathways or even seven-fragment pathways. But never once have I heard of someone being granted “specified” fragment pathways.”

  “Do you know what this means Jon?” Rana questioned.

  Jon nodded his head, palming his chin while glancing towards the television placed up on his living room wall. The highlights of a foreign sporting event were playing in the background, placed on mute while Jon was analysing the rewards the System had granted him.

  “I could ask the System for information about, well… anything.”

  “Anything relating to ‘desire,’ ‘plants,’ or ‘transformation.’ So long as it is related to triple-fragment pathways or below, I would receive an answer. Even if it was related to fragment pathways that match or compliment my own abilities.”

  Jon gulped, before sitting up from his Soothing-Comfort Couch. His figure walking away from his green-coloured living room, through his kitchen adorned with Mortal-Ranked spiritual materials.

  Vibrantly-coloured flowers and medicinal herbs grew out of Mortal Ranked Growth Pots and Mortal Ranked Hydration Pots. Placed beside them was a set of Knight-Ranked knives; spiritual items that Fragments Of Alchemy or Fragments Of Cooking integrated into them.

  Jon had not yet elevated the refrigerator into a type of spiritual item but planned on experimenting with other electronic objects before going ahead with the real thing. Spiritual item formation that resulted in failure often caused explosions which, within Springtown was fine-.

  In Melbourne however, it was quite an easy way to get oneself arrested.

  Opening said fridge, Jon picked out a handful of beers, before swiftly returning to his Soothing-Comfort Couch. Cracking one of bottles open with his Tabitha-Cedarspear Arm, Jon moved to observe the four remaining System notifications that he had yet to view.

  Knight Title Fragment “Blood-Soaked Pride”: Increases the effectiveness of all abilities with the Superbia Trait. Increases resistances towards abilities with the Superbia Trait.

  Knight Title Fragment “Mentis-Mutare Sanctus”: Increases the effectiveness of all abilities with the Mind Trait and the Mutation Trait.

  Lord Title Fragment “Returnee”: Increases resistances towards abilities with the Fate Trait and Destiny Trait.

  Lord Title Fragment “Luminous Shidonai Acolyte”: Concepts and notions related to ‘desire’, ‘sin,’ and ‘blasphemy’ become infinitesimally easier to understand and comprehend.

  “All of these Title Fragments are quite useful in their own right.” Jon muttered to himself, “Blood-Soaked Pride would increase the effectiveness of my Helel-Star Pride, which would then in turn increase the effectiveness of all my other physical enhancements.”

  “Returnee helps resist tracking effects through Fate Trait and Destiny Trait abilities, perhaps even specific types of divination or scrying. Luminous Shidonai Acolyte might be related to the Angel Of Desire but was earned after exiting the System Introduction.”

  “Did the System award me that Lord Title Fragment? Or is this the machinations of the Angel Of Desire?”

  Jon wasn’t quite sure what to think. Worried that he would have to wait until Barony before combining other Lord Title Fragments together in order to form a Baron Title Fragment. Theoretically, it was possible to use Lord Title Fragments in order to create a Knight Ranked Title but the possibility of losing control, in addition to the aforementioned Title Fragments was even higher than usual.

  If either Princeps Of The Wandering Mutation or Lost Author Of Shapes And Forms possessed effects related to ‘concept manipulation’ or ‘conceptual control’ Jon might have a slightly easier time manipulating Title Fragments that exceeded his Rank.

  For the time being he was content with the using Knight Title Fragments. The sheer number in his possession was more than enough to form three complete Knight Ranked Titles and each day that he continued to ignore them was another day wasted on his journey towards Lordship.

  Jon sipped on the uninitiated beer in his hands. Given that [Green Is The Flesh, As Red Is The Blood] was a Knight Ranked ability, he could literally drink gallons of the stuff without it affecting his mental state or inhibitions. The taste was not too bad either, at least in comparison to some of the stuff he drunk back in Springtown.

  “Will Mentis-Mutare Dominus still form the basis for your Knight Ranked Title Jon?” Rana asked, observing Jon as the he continued to analyse the Title Fragments that he had previously obtained in relation to the ones that he had just acquired.

  The Earth Reincarnation Womb hummed in thought for a few moments, rustling her leaves and producing a faint golden-green glow.

  “I have given it much thought, considering it may happen within the next twelve-to-eighteen months. The Fragment Of Bodhisattva that I integrated follows the concepts that I nurtured in my previous life, leaving little room for you to develop your own fragment pathways and System Acknowledged Feats.”

  “Although I would be able to regain a fraction of the abilities that I once possessed with the integration of a Fragment Of Nirvana or a Fragment Of Samsara, I believe that at Lordship-.”

  “That you should transform me into a triple-fragment pathway.”

  Ashvattha Rana Devi clearing her figurative throat, watching as Jon’s eyes widened in shock.

  “Perhaps even combing me with Luminous Shidonai Acolyte or Green-Desire-Transformation Anathema so as to transform me into a connected ability.”
