Chapter 28: Patrol part 3
Mr. Specter made a motion with his and gathered rain droplets in his hand. They staid separate from each other, each and every drop glistened in their splendour.
With another motion of his hand, Mr. Specter threw the droplets towards the two people running. The droplets traced a line towards the hooded man and his partner, and they hit like bullets.
The two of them fell down and as they screamed in pain. Mr. Specter watched as the two people who fell down tried to stand up and continue running.
He sighed as he turned his head while trying to grab his gun in its holster. In the corner of his eye, he noticed a red blur that moved towards the two people he had injured.
An unknown woman in a white ceramic mask stood next to the hooded man. As if pleased to see the hooded man and his now visible partner, the woman waved her hand energetically.
Mr. Specter knew instantly when she appeared who she was. She was a well-known mystic from the sect Gourmet. Her red dress, her blood coloured print on her ceramic mask in the form of multiple baby hands.
Mr. Magician had only seen and experienced a mystic from gourmet through dream divination, but their signature ceramic mask left a strong enough impression on him for him to know that the red dressed mystic belonged to Gourmet.
She was known as Bloody Mary, the child eater. Mr. Specter wanted to try to use his new Water Spirit Characteristics, that was the reason why he previously attacked with water droplets.
But it took too long to prepare. He unholstered his gun and fired shot after shot towards Bloody Mary. He knew that the bullets would only hamper her movements temporarily, but it was the best he could do.
Even if the bullets tore her skull apart, she was part of Gourmet, she has a pesky ability to fully heal and expel any foreign object in her body. While a lot of mystics has a similar ability, the speed that those from Gourmet heal and regenerate is disgustingly fast.
Mr. Specter hoped that Mr. Magician would take this time to pray to the goddess and ask her to send help. As he was shooting, he saw what she was doing.
Even when being bombarded by bullets, she was still talking to the hooded man and his partner in a gentle tone. The few words Mr. Specter could hear even through all his shooting, she sounded eloquent.
He didn’t feel anything when he fired his gun. He felt that he wasn’t shooting at a human but a mystical abomination. He watched as the fear in the hooded man’s face turned ever more real as Bloody Mary raised her hand.
“Shit!”
Mr. Specter started to run towards Bloody Mary. He had stopped shooting as he had wasted every single bullet he had. Just as he was no more than 5 meters away from her, Bloody Mary’s skull blew open as someone appeared next to her.
“Sigh~. This isn’t the first time I deal with those of your kind. However, I would have preferred to avoid it.”
Mr. Magician had used his illusions to become invisible. After spitting out a bullet and feeling her head for any holes, Bloody Mary looked at the purple caped man next to her.
His gait was full of pride, and his gaze was as cold as an old knight’s. She knew that he was not one to be underestimated but neither was she with over 30 spirit and demon characteristics within her.
She threw a punch intended for Mr. Magician’s head but missed. He dodged and shot her leg. She staggered but healed almost instantly as she punched the ground and bloody spikes came out from the ground.
The spikes came out in a straight line, towards Mr. Magician. He dodged and then shot two bullets that hit Bloody Mary’s eyes. Taking this opportunity, Mr. Magician ran towards Bloody Mary and grabbed her head.
As he grabbed her head, she had fully recovered but did not have the time to react to the fact that Mr. Magician brought his knee to her face. She groaned in pain but did not lose focus.
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
She tried to grab his head, intended to take a strand of hair but missed as Mr. Magician was prepared for it. She had no choice but to greet his knee with her face once again.
The force of her head hitting Mr. Magician’s knee a second time threw her backwards with no regards to the fact that Mr. Magician was holding her hair.
She stumbled backwards and managed to find her balance as she stood still, watching the man that had not only shot her but also grab her head and kicked her repeatedly.
Bloody Mary saw that the purple caped young man was holding a large patch of hair in his hand.
She showed no signs of fear nor pain when she dropped down to her knees and slit her wrist with her teeth and used her own blood to write on the ground.
Two seconds passed and she finished writing on the ground. She had made an unknown symbol with her own blood as ink.
She laughed as she saw the hair that the purple caped young man was holding was set on fire. He let go of the burning hair and watched her.
Bloody Mary thought that he was thinking of ways to take her down, but the reality couldn’t be different from reality. She thought of ways to kill him.
She thought of ways to torture him. She got hot and bothered about the fact that if she managed to knock him out, she would have the chance to kidnap him and kill him slowly with thousands of cuts, or if she felt rather frisky, thousand bites.
She started to breath heavily as she started to feel excited over her own imagination. Her ecstatic expression suddenly changed to an expression of horror.
Reflected in her eyes wasn’t the same young man she had observed seconds before.
The prideful and cold gaze had changed and the most notable characteristics the young man had was his smile. A smile so sinister and crazy that even insects would flee in terror.
Bloody Mary’s thoughts went into overdrive as she, an experienced mystic started to think of what could have changed… Did he lose control? Has he turned completely crazy? Why? I haven’t done anything!
Mary could feal fear welling up inside of her, she knew well of what would happen when a mystics lost control. Not intended to stay any longer, she started running away.
She ran and ran and ran, but the distance between her and the other mystics didn’t change… An illusion?
Mary turned her head and saw that the young man, now wearing a monocle, was smiling at her with a nefarious grin. He was walking slowly towards her as she was still trying to run away.
He aimed his gun towards Mary that had now stopped running. Instead of trying to get away, she decided to fight. She used her blood spikes to pierce anything and everything around her.
Not prepared for her attack, Mr. Magician’s body cracked and fell down as if he was made of a glass as he appeared in another location. Mary understood that she had managed to break the illusion and ran towards Mr. Magician in an attempt to fight him.
She threw a punch, and it hit. Mr. Magician staggered backwards and then dodged to the side, kicking in the process. Mary blocked and countered. As her punch hit, she didn’t feel any resistance.
Mr. Magician’s body broke down into pieces of glass as his real body appeared behind Mary and tried to punch her. The punch hit her face as he brough out his silver dagger in an attempt to stab her.
The dagger became lodged in Bloody Mary’s shoulder. She didn’t scream. She didn’t even make a sound. Bloody Mary was used to pain, as long as she was somewhat prepared for pain, she could ignore most of it.
Mr. Magician made another illusion and ran behind her as his illusion tried to take out his gun and shoot Mary. Bloody Mary refused to let him shoot and crushed the illusion within a second. She turned around and tried to grab Mr. Magician’s hair.
Mr. Magician threw himself backwards as he knew what she wanted to do. In contrast to last time, he didn’t manage to react in time and Bloody Mary managed to get a hold of one strand of his hair.
She focused her spirituality into the strand of hair in her hand, and this caused Mr. Magician to throw up blood.
The pain was tolerable but as it was his first time experiencing a hex, he panicked and tried to reach for his gun when he was suddenly interrupted by a blood spike heading for his head.
Mr. Magician managed to dodge in time but was then punched by Mary and sent flying.
She looked at the direction of Mr. Specter, and he was doing his best to keep the two hooded men alive by pressing on their wounds. Bloody Mary managed to sneakily stab the two hooded men during her fight against Mr. Magician.
While Specter didn’t want to save them, he had to because they could have information on Gourmet.
Bloody Mary knew that the hooded men would die even if a mystic with a healing spirit characteristic showed up.
Their death would leave behind clues for someone with a divination characteristic. Burning their corpses would be ideal but it would take time.
First, she needed to kill the two mystics that tried to fight her, then use a small ritual to quickly burn the corpses, but she didn’t know if other mystics were on their way. She decided that it was best to run away.
…
The reminiscing man laughed about the fact that in the memory he had just remembered, he nearly died… Thankfully she ran. Otherwise I wouldn't have been here.
The reminiscing man looked around and saw that he was surrounded by asteroids. He decided to land on the largest one within his view. He let out a sigh before opining his mouth to speak.
“If she had switched places with her second personality, she would have killed us within seconds. Me and Mr. Specter was really lucky.”
