Hey Everyone!
I hope you’re all doing fantastically well!
As I polish up Book One and prepare for the drop of Book Two, I didn’t want to leave you completely high and dry.
So I thought I’d take a moment to reminisce — to reach out, chat, and thank you.
My Store Manager is a Goblin! (or Gobbo, as I call it) has been one wild journey. What began as a 30-minute lunch break sprint somehow evolved into... whatever this delightful chaos has become — and now, here we are, one full book later!
From an author’s perspective, it’s incredible to see so many of you coming back each week. I can see the reader numbers per chapter, and knowing that fifty-something of you regularly return to follow this strange little story about a world bigger than ourselves... well, that’s more meaningful than I can express.
Did I understate that too much? Probably. But it still feels right.
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.
The story keeps evolving. I’m still not entirely sure where it’s heading — I have outlines, arcs, characters… and then they go and write themselves in completely new directions. It’s exciting, a little terrifying, and honestly? That’s my favorite part.
Your support and enthusiasm are the light that keeps me moving through that unknown.
When I reread the early chapters, I can see how much I’ve grown. We started a bit spastic (yeah, the beginning’s rough — good bones, middling execution), but I feel we’re rushing toward something greater now. I don’t know exactly what it is, but it’s something — and I’m honored to be climbing that mountain with all of you.
In the meantime, if you’d like to hang out, I do have a Discord! (Be patient with me; I’m still figuring it out.) The link’s in the post-chapter note, since RR doesn’t allow links in the main body. Come say hi — or keep being my silent, amazing lurkers. Either way, I’m glad you’re here.
And if you’re looking for something to read while the Store’s on break, I’ve also been writing a Pokémon fanfic — a warmer, more heart-forward story where I get to stretch some different writing muscles. Feel free to pop over if that’s your vibe (link in note as well).
Thank you — truly — for being here. For reading, reacting, theorizing, or just quietly watching Beeg suffer (poor guy).
I wish you all the very, very best.
Ad Astra,
—TJ
