Waiting for an oppurtunity and building a companionship with his new wolf

After finishing his trip, Mo Fan immediately headed to the Ancient Capital.

He had to make sure his Little Loach's spirit and remnant souls had enough to eat within a year!

Although War General Level undead were not rampant in the current Ancient Capital, the remnant souls and spirits of Servant Level creatures were still superior to many demon races of the same level.

He didn't hide his trip to the Ancient Capital from his father and Xin Xia.

And as for Mo Fan not going to university but instead hunting demons in the Ancient Capital, although they didn't understand, they had witnessed Mo Fan’s performance and strength during the Bo City disaster. So, they didn't try to sway his decision.

Upon arriving at the Ancient Capital, Mo Fan finally witnessed what was called the rgest safe zone in the country. A single safe barrier was like a rge city in itself.

Mo Fan felt that the Chinese people were still too modest. With this level of safe zone, no one would refute it if it were called the rgest safe zone in the entire world!

Indeed, it still had to be the Ancestral Dragon!

In the magic world, he was clearly even more outstanding.

Speaking of which, Mo Fan suddenly thought of something.

The Little Loach was the Azure Dragon Soul, and the Azure Dragon originally followed Ying Zheng. Moreover, when Ying Zheng died, the Azure Dragon was even transformed into city walls, its energy became the Earth Holy Spring, and its soul remained in this pendant...

And his Little Loach pendant was given to him by an old man with the surname Ying...

  Holy crap!

Suddenly, Mo Fan felt like he had thought of something quite outrageous.

Of course, this was merely a guess, and whether it was true could only be expined after entering the S煞渊.

However, to ask him to go jump into the S煞渊 now, he didn't have the guts.

Outside the Ancient Capital's safe zone, there were also residences built by the Ancient Capital's incorporation. Clearly, the current undead catastrophe was not yet that terrifying; the areas outside the residential zones still had some city wall protection, with Guardian Mages stationed there. Too many threats loomed over this ancient city, among them the Tomb of the Undead and the Qinling Mountains' Demons, which had already left this city with few years of peace.

It was said that whether inside or outside the city, digging a hundred meters deep would surely reveal bones!

Bones were not terrifying. Because those were merely the remains of warriors. What was terrifying were those beings who had already become remains but still clung to this world. Coupled with some special factors here, after dying and resurrecting, most people would become walking corpses. They might have been human in life, but after death, they would transform into terrifying undead. Even if they appeared, the Guardian Mages would use thunderous means to kill them.

After arriving at the Ancient Capital, he went outside the safe zone that very night. As night fell, the nd outside began to soften. Immediately after, one rotting corpse after another crawled out from underground tombs. As they appeared, they all swayed and continuously drew closer. Seeing them approach, all the Guardian Mages began a full-scale bombardment.

Whenever undead surged towards them, they would strike immediately. Of course, if War General Level undead appeared, there would be specialized teams responsible for their swift elimination. The Impact of War General Level undead was extremely terrifying. The city walls built by humans could easily be breached. Fortunately, although undead continuously appeared outside the Ancient Capital every night, and the war persisted, War General Level undead were still extremely rare.

Ever since Mo Fan arrived at the Ancient Capital, he had been acting as a Hunter Mage, guarding the city walls daily with the Guardian Mages. Here, he could both prevent the invasion of the undead, earn a certain income, and comprehensively collect spirits—it was simply too perfect.

Most importantly, he was extremely safe on the city wall.

But it was undeniable that although the safety factor had increased significantly, the speed of his Star Dust and Star Cloud growth seemed somewhat considerable. Indeed, if one didn't push oneself to court death, becoming stronger was almost a remote possibility!

Although his own cultivation progress was a bit slow, the Little Loach's daily absorption was incredibly vast. The amount of energy from the undead that died here every day was equivalent to a month of his demon hunting in Bo City.

As long as he continued to collect spirits and remnant souls here, Mo Fan believed that his Little Loach pendant would be able to upgrade to the next level in no time.

At that time, after irrigating the Earth Holy Spring into the pendant, it would undoubtedly take off directly.

Hmm, he didn't want to waste any opportunity for improvement.

Furthermore, with the little Snow Frost Star Wolf with him he practiced fighting with it every day to make sure their companionship and level could grow together. Making sure when they fought warrior level beasts that the Snow Frost Star Wolf could use his strength charging, feinting, retreating and then striking again. Even though his Lil wolf was an Antarctic beast with an Emperor Level bloodline he was still only at the peak of the servant level. Mo Fan knew that although he was 6 times stronger than any nd beast it still required precision to work with and become the next level monster Lil wolf was destined to be. Secondly although he was essentially a sacred beast the ice magic in wolfy was yet to be fully realized as the ice core which Mo Fan had in the original story could be fully unleashed only in the presence of true ice element magic.

He had bought four huge traveling suitcase worth of High Quality Ice Elemental Soul Seed Fragments for his Lil wolf, since it can’t really start absorbing soul seeds in it's infancy stage.

And he also had a shit ton of Lightning Elemental resources for his Lil Lightning Belle~

And he would buy even more in the future, so he’s gonna need the assistance of its Little Loach to become stronger quickly so he can make more money!

And there was always the option of going and looting at the Summoning Pne~ hehe~

“Oh Right! Lil wolf, you need to hurry up and migrate to a cold pce, so that you can keep absorbing the ice elements from there and become stronger naturally! Being where you were previously could affect your growth! So, I’ll pce you in the world of Ice Spirits okay?” Mo Fan told his wolf.

  Awoo....

It wasn’t happy about it’s new pce, it growled in denial.

“What’s wrong you don’t like the spirits?” Mo Fan asked.

  Awu...

“Hmm... It seems you don’t... Then let’s search for a pce like Antarctic okay?” Mo Fan said that but he wasn’t really keen on keeping his young wolf in a pce like Antarctic.

The beasts are ruthless there, and his Wolf might get eaten in one bite! Compared to them the spirits were much more amiable to beasts of High lineage and pure elements!

They wouldn’t look down on them and would be a safe environment for his current defenceless wolf pup.

  ...

He transferred the Snow Frost Star Wolf in the realm of Ice Spirits after opening a small enough crack for his wolf to pass through.

The Snow Frost Star Wolf felt more at home in an environment like this where he was surrounded by the ice element and snow~

It felt like it could finally stretch it’s small legs~

During a battle against a Corpse Minister a Minor-Warrior Mo Fan fully sat down and watched Wolfie duel against the minister.

The Corpse minister who was facing off against a ferocious Snow White elegant looking Wolf, who looked at them zily! The distance between them was at least around 150metres!

It looked strong with strong but lean muscles on it's forearms of all four legs!

A type of cold blue fire was emitting from his elbows and tip of the tail, as well as on its shoulder! It looked like a sort of royal Mane! And speaking of royalty, there was also a Crystal Crown on his forehead, which made his outstanding royal bloodline known to everyone!

It’s size was now almost 3.5metres! It might seemed zy but it was still alertly Staring at the humans, who had come to challenge him again! It stood up to face them!

The battle begins with a deafening silence before the first move is made. The Snow Frost Star Wolf shifts, its form blurring as it sprints toward the Corpse Minister, a fsh of white against the dark expanse. The wolf’s powerful legs push against the snow, its icy mane flowing like a river of frost.

With a growl, the Snow Frost Star Wolf leaps, its cws unsheathing in mid-air as it cws towards the Corpse Minister’s chest. But the undead creature responds with unnatural speed, raising a gnarled arm to deflect the wolf’s strike, the force of the impact sending an eerie screech through the air. The Corpse Minister retaliates immediately, swinging its other arm in a wide arc, trying to crush the wolf with its decaying fist.

The Snow Frost Star Wolf evades with fluid grace, spinning mid-air, and nds lightly on the ground, its icy-blue fmes fring to life around its body. It growls lowly, the coldness of its energy intensifying as it prepares its next attack.

With a flick of its tail, the wolf releases a bst of ice, creating a storm of jagged, frozen shards that fly toward the Corpse Minister. The shards strike with precision, each one embedding into the undead creature's rotting flesh. The Corpse Minister roars in agony, but the magic of ice only seems to fuel its rage. It swings wildly, sending bsts of dark energy that warp the very air around them.

The battle escates. The Snow Frost Star Wolf, agile and quick, uses its speed to maneuver around the Corpse Minister, nding occasional strikes that leave ice burns on its undead skin. However, the Corpse Minister’s resilience is unmatched. It absorbs the wolf’s strikes with disturbing ease, its body shifting and reconstituting with each blow, rising again from the brink of death.

The Snow Frost Star Wolf growls in frustration. Despite its growing power, it realizes this battle will require more than just agility. It focuses its energy, summoning the full force of its ice element. Its body glows with an ethereal light as it channels the frozen magic into a concentrated sphere. The air around it drops to an unbearable cold, freezing the ground beneath its paws.

With a howl, the Snow Frost Star Wolf unches the orb of ice, sending it hurtling toward the Corpse Minister. The undead creature attempts to dodge, but it is too slow. The orb strikes its chest, and a massive explosion of ice and frost erupts, encasing the Corpse Minister in a block of solid ice. For a moment, the battlefield is quiet, the wolf standing amidst the cold mist, eyes fixed on its opponent.

But the battle isn’t over. The Corpse Minister, trapped in ice, rages against its bonds, its undead energy surging. With a burst of dark power, it shatters the ice, its decayed form now even more monstrous, wreathed in a cloud of necrotic energy. The Corpse Minister’s once fragile body is now infused with even greater dark power, its form growing more menacing with every passing second.

In a final attempt to overpower the wolf, the Corpse Minister charges, swinging its arms in wide arcs of destruction. The Snow Frost Star Wolf, eyes glowing with determination, meets the charge head-on. With a burst of energy, it summons an ice shield, deflecting the Corpse Minister’s blows. The wolf is battered, but it doesn’t back down.

In that instant, the Snow Frost Star Wolf uses its most potent move—an enormous bst of icy energy surges from its body, sending a shockwave of cold outwards. The force is so powerful that it freezes everything in its path, encasing the Corpse Minister in a massive block of ice once more. This time, however, the energy is too much for the Corpse Minister to recover from. It struggles, but the ice closes in, freezing its very soul.

With a final roar, the Corpse Minister shatters into a thousand pieces of frozen bone and flesh, leaving only the chilling silence of the battlefield.

The Snow Frost Star Wolf stands victorious, breathing heavily, its royal mane still flickering with cold blue fmes. Its body is bruised, but its spirit is unwavering. The battle has been won, but it’s only a matter of time before the next challenge comes. The wolf looks to its master, Mo Fan, who watches with pride and anticipation for the next step in their journey together.

After this they time moved on Mo Fan had been stationed at the Ancient Capital city wall for over half a year.

During this time, his Little Loach Pendant had finally leveled up. Moreover, at this moment, it seemed that Little Loach no longer required remnant souls or spirit souls to recover.

The collected remnant souls floated within the pendant’s world. Looking at the results of his nightly gains over the past six months, Mo Fan felt satisfied.

While his progress was not exceptionally fast, it was steady. His Fire and Lightning Elements' Star Clouds had both expanded, while his Shadow and Summoning Elements had advanced to Elementary Level Three.

Mo Fan had been thinking about the Earth Holy Spring. Little Loach had advanced, but there was still more to gain, and Mo Fan knew the Earth Holy Spring could potentially speed up this transformation. But before he could finalize anything, he would need to test things further.

The night had come, and Mo Fan didn’t go to the city wall. Instead, he waited. It wasn’t until the early hours of the morning that a rich, dense energy poured out of Little Loach’s pendant, flooding Mo Fan’s body.

The moment the energy flowed into him, Mo Fan felt his Shadow and Summoning Element Star Paths immediately show signs of breaking through. Even his Fire and Lightning Element Star Clouds expanded significantly!

In that moment, Mo Fan understood that the wait had been worth it.

After absorbing the energy, Mo Fan felt his Shadow and Summoning Elements evolve into Star Clouds. His Fire Element expanded to Intermediate Mage Level Two. Though his Lightning Element didn’t advance, it had grown several times rger, matching his previous Fire Element Star Cloud.

Still, Mo Fan felt something wasn’t right. Despite Little Loach’s advancement, it wasn’t enough. The Earth Holy Spring was capable of more, but Mo Fan knew that it wouldn’t push Little Loach to the next level. It was just the normal progression, like when acquiring spirit souls.

  There was still time, though.

Mo Fan was in the Ancient Capital, and there were still a few pces to explore. He pnned to visit the Wei Ju Vilges and learn about their magical history. But it wasn’t just about learning; combat also helped digest the energy. He needed to keep moving forward.

The next morning, Mo Fan set off, leaving behind his phone and a few clothes at the hotel. He wasn’t worried about the innkeeper; no one would risk angering a mage.

Before leaving, he bought some gray garlic. It was expensive, but he knew it would help him stay safe in the Land of the Undead, a pce swarming with demons and dangers. He cringed at the cost, but it was a small price to pay for survival.

After purchasing the garlic, Mo Fan departed early in the morning, heading toward the Xianchi area.

Xianchi, a ft stretch of nd north of the Qinling Mountains, was known for its barren, desote ndscape. The fine white sand on the ground was actually powder formed from bones. Locals didn’t call it salt but instead referred to it as “Salty Land.”

The nd had been named after the Xianchi, which looked like a sunken pond on a map, surrounded by barren ground. The area was bordered by the northern part of Xicheng and Chang’an District. The safety zones around it were built to protect against the demons that roamed the area.

While some regions had interconnected fortresses and outposts, the safety zone in the Ancient Capital was more fragile due to the special demons inhabiting it. Earth Element mages had built long earthen walls to protect the towns within the safety zone, but some vilges were inadvertently left outside, making them even more vulnerable to demon attacks.

The Wei Ju Cn had an ancient ability to avoid undead, and these so-called Miracle Vilges outside the safety zone had managed to survive by relying on the protection of their unique power. These vilges had been safe for centuries, untouched by the undead or demons. Their secrecy and the knowledge passed down through generations made them a rare resource.

Though Mo Fan was curious, he knew it would take him at least a day to reach one of these vilges.

As the night descended, Mo Fan felt uneasy. Strange sounds echoed from beneath the fine, salt-colored sand. The unsettling sound of chewing or tapping reached his ears, and he immediately became alert.

Before he could even fully process the noise, arms began to emerge from the earth—grotesque, decayed, and covered in dried mud. Their fingers grasped the ground, pulling themselves up, as more and more heads surfaced from the ground, their eyes glowing red with hunger.

  “Ugh ah!!”

  “Ugh aow!!!”

The moaning cries filled the air, the grotesque heads pulling from the earth with unnatural force.

  The undead were everywhere.

The nd had absorbed these lost souls for centuries, but now the dead were rising. The nd itself was saturated with death energy, and Mo Fan understood that no matter how many times these undead were struck down, they would always return.

It was the Land of the Undead.

Mo Fan drew his Fire Burst Star Map.

  "Fire Burst, Scorch!"

A bzing fireball formed, hurling toward the writhing undead. The explosion created a wall of fme, incinerating the closest ones, but more kept emerging from the earth.

Mo Fan's face hardened. He wasn’t in a position to fight them all. The sheer number of undead meant that every move had to be calcuted. Fighting them was a slow battle; Mo Fan needed to find the source.

More undead surged out of the ground.

The wind carried a chill as the night deepened, but Mo Fan remained focused.

He wasn't afraid of the undead. They were just obstacles, temporary. What mattered was surviving this pce and moving forward to the Wei Ju Vilges.

  He needed answers.
