It’s All About Survival

Thanks to his Dire Wolf Beast, Mo Fan’s progress was significantly faster. As an Intermediate Mage with his Dire Wolf Beast, he was unimpeded as long as he wasn't blocked by a War General Level demon.

His destination, naturally, was the rge supermarket in the Inscription District.

South of Inscription Girls' Middle School was a very prosperous shopping pza. The bloodstains left here had long been washed away by the rain, leaving behind only human remains across the vast pza. Looking at them for too long would make one vomit.

Around the pza, low growls and roars constantly echoed, and every now and then a scream would pierce the silence, immediately indicating that another person had been found by a demon.

The shopping complex occupied nearly a third of the pza's area. This was a brand new shopping mall, but it had been thoroughly ravaged and damaged by the demons, with broken gss, shattered doors, and a messy floor everywhere.

The first basement level of the pza was a Walmart supermarket. Human food didn't hold much appeal for demons, otherwise this pce would quickly become a gathering spot for them.

The supermarket was fortunate; because it required an elevator to access, it hadn't yet been discovered by the demons.

The people hiding inside the supermarket sat helplessly on the ground, one by one, able to do nothing but pray that the demons would never find this pce.

“Are we just going to be abandoned like this?” a girl, clutching her knees and sobbing in a corner, asked in a tiny voice.

“Most of the people outside are probably dead. It’s only a matter of time before we’re discovered here,” the supermarket manager said numbly, slumped on the ground.

“No, sitting here will only lead to death. We have to go out; there’s still a chance of survival if we go out,” said the man responsible for transporting supermarket goods.

“I’m a plumber, been doing this for decades. Everyone, follow me through the underground passages, and you won’t run into demons,” said a middle-aged, thin man in blue work clothes.

Upon hearing the man, everyone’s eyes lit up.

According to a young man who had escaped here, demons were everywhere outside. Going above ground would surely lead to being eaten by demons in minutes. But if they went through the underground passages, they could easily pass through the Inscription District and reach the safe barrier. Since there was a worker familiar with the city's underground drainage system, they wouldn’t get lost down there.

“Let’s go, hurry up, I don’t want to stay in this cursed pce.”

“Yeah, under a Red Alert, there’s basically no hope of survival if you haven’t evacuated to a safe barrier…”

“Let’s go, hurry up, this pce will be discovered by demons sooner or ter.”

There were about fifteen people in the supermarket. Upon hearing that a plumber would lead the way, a glimmer of hope for survival flickered in their eyes.

The supermarket happened to have a direct access point to the underground passages, giving them hope of evacuating to the safe barrier.

Everyone quickly packed up and followed the plumber, retreating collectively into the underground passages.

Just then, the girl who had been so despairing earlier suddenly spoke up: “Wait, everyone, wait, can someone help? There’s a girl here in a wheelchair; she probably can’t walk.”

“Are you crazy? At a time like this, who can still care about her?”

“Yeah, you can’t use a wheelchair in the sewers. Girl, if you want to go, hurry and come with us,” said the chubby supermarket manager.

The plumber walked ahead, and the others pretended not to hear, quickly catching up to him.

“Then, will one of you carry her? Please, don’t leave her behind, I beg you!” The skinny girl was on the verge of tears, seeing those people almost gone and not knowing what to do for a moment.

A few people did turn their heads, looking at the girl in the wheelchair with a hint of reluctance, but they still turned away…

They could barely protect themselves. If they encountered demons in the underground passages, carrying a girl would make it impossible to escape.

“Isn’t this a bit bad for us? The girl looks quite pitiful,” one of the women whispered.

“What’s bad? She can’t walk herself, how can you bme us? If you feel sorry for her, you go carry her. Don’t say I didn’t warn you, many pipes in the sewers require crawling, and some dders will make your legs weak just climbing them. If we take her, we probably won’t reach the safe barrier for one or two days,” the plumber said.

“The supermarket might not even be discovered by demons. She can just wait for rescue there.”

Upon hearing the words “wait for rescue,” everyone’s mouths twitched involuntarily.

But at this moment, no one stepped forward to py the good Samaritan. They all followed the plumber and left.

Xin Xia, in her wheelchair, saw the girl’s reluctance and gently said, “You go with them.”

  “I’m sorry.”

Although the girl wanted to help Xin Xia, she ultimately didn't have the ability.

But Xin Xia didn't actually bme the other party. She didn't bme those people in her heart, just as she couldn't walk. Who could she bme for that? Everyone had the right to live well.

At this moment, Mo Fan had already arrived at the pza. When he rode his Dire Wolf Beast here, the other One-Eyed Magic Wolves fled.

However, he didn't see Yu Ang appear as he had expected.

Mo Fan had originally thought of just twisting his neck. But that bastard probably saw his Dire Wolf Beast and so didn't dare to show himself, right?

Yu Ang was nothing; he could be easily dealt with anytime. For now, saving Xin Xia was the most important thing.

Next to the shopping pza, on a ten-story high terrace.

On the terrace, two men dressed in bck stood there. They seemed completely unnoticed by the demons, patrolling this area.

“There’s a guy riding a summoned beast heading towards the shopping pza,” one of the hook-nosed men said.

“It’s him!” The other man, whose face was covered, suddenly had a fsh of hatred in his eyes.

“You know him?” the hook-nosed man asked.

“Of course,” Yu Ang said, clenching his fist.

But after seeing Mo Fan’s Dire Wolf Beast, he still didn't have the courage.

Clearly, Mo Fan was truly hiding his strength. Relying solely on his Bck Corpse Demons, he feared they wouldn't be able to deal with the opponent.

Because the underground area was retively narrow, he could only temporarily leave his Dire Wolf Beast on the first floor. Although the Dire Wolf Beast’s strength was still far from its advancement period, it was not something that One-Eyed Magic Wolves or Giant-Eyed Blood Rats could provoke.

As for him, he went straight into the underground supermarket.

When he entered, he happened to see a girl with a leg injury running out.

This girl was, naturally, the one who had wanted to take Xin Xia away earlier.

  “You…”

Seeing Mo Fan come down from above, the girl froze for a moment.

“Have you seen a girl in a wheelchair?” Mo Fan asked directly.

  “Are you her retive?”

  “Yes.”

“I’ll take you.” Hearing Mo Fan’s reply, the girl was somewhat excited.

Seeing her like this, Mo Fan thought to himself: Good for you for surviving!

As for the others who had already gone silent, he didn’t pay attention to them. It wasn't because Xin Xia was left here that he didn't bme anyone; it was his own problem.

Moreover, he couldn't save so many ordinary people. After all, Bo City was filled with Magic Wolves and Demon Rats everywhere at this time. Taking so many ordinary people would make them too big of a target.

Furthermore, these people wouldn't believe him. After all, he was just a young man. In such a disaster, what role could he py?

Soon, Mo Fan followed the girl to the room where Xin Xia was. At this time, Xin Xia was still holding a dagger in her hand, seemingly intending to cut her own throat if discovered.

  “Xin Xia!”
