As Yu Yongrui swung his saber, intending to behead Liu Xing, Liu Xing couldn't help but think that the situation was similar to what had happened with Shen Ye. At that moment, it had been Liu Xing who seemed to have the upper hand, while this time around, it was Yu Yongrui. Not only that, Shen Ye had an ace up his sleeve that allowed him to escape and teleport away, while Liu Xing had a way to undo this binding. Truly, it was as if the world was trying to tell him something through this coincidence, though he didn't know its meaning.
As Yu Yongrui's saber was about to touch his neck, Liu Xing pulled his invisible gun and pointed it toward his enemy. His movement was fast, and in a single moment, a bullet hit right in the middle of Yu Yongrui's chest. As the bullet exploded into ropes of electricity that bound Yu Yongrui, whose eyes widened in disbelief, Liu Xing willed the gun to absorb the black chains.
His gun greedily absorbed the darkness like a thirsty camel that arrived at a small pond. In an instant, the dark chains binding him dissolved, absorbed by his gun, and he was free. As he let the gun go and allowed it to absorb the chains binding Tide Walker, Liu Xing lunged toward Yu Yongrui. Yu Yongrui took his mask and put it on his face, but he did not disarm Liu Xing. Harmony of Two Seas was firmly grasped in Liu Xing's hand.
Liu Xing thrust his sword forward, intending to pierce his throat. The air whistled as his sword shot forward for the kill. At that moment, Liu Xing suddenly remembered his other enemy, Hua Beifeng. Hua Beifeng had stated that he wanted to kill Yu Yongrui for killing his lover, and he imagined what Hua Beifeng would do when he learned Liu Xing was the one who killed Yu Yongrui. Would he be grateful, or would he be angry for being robbed of his chance for revenge?
As the tip of the sword was mere centimeters from the paralyzed Yu Yongrui, the butterflies spreading high into the sky began to pulse with light, as if frantically trying to warn him of some danger.
Then, in the split second the tip of his sword pierced Yu Yongrui's skin, a man suddenly appeared at Liu Xing's side. He was a man with short dark hair and eyes as blue as the ocean. Arcs of electricity surrounded him, and he held a white spear in his hand. The moment he appeared, Liu Xing saw that the man had sharp, focused eyes, lips locked in a snarl, and blood and dirt caked his face, neck, and bare upper body. He was so fast that Liu Xing could barely see him even with his Eye of Lightning; however, Liu Xing recognized the danger, and in a split second, he pulled his sword back, crossed his arms in front of his face, summoned his shield, and took a defensive stance.
The man thrust his spear forward, intending to pierce Liu Xing's face. However, Liu Xing's shield materialized just in time, and the spear slammed into it. The impact was strong; his shield reverberated like a gong, and it was thrust forward until it slammed into Liu Xing's face.
Liu Xing's feet instantly lifted off the ground, and he was thrown into the air like a cannonball, his body spinning. Blood trickled from his nose as a sharp pain covered his face.
The force was incredible. Liu Xing twisted his body in midair and landed on his summoned shield. He looked down and saw the man who had suddenly attacked him looking at him as if he were a mortal enemy. To his side, Yu Yongrui was frozen in terror, but then he began to walk back as softly as possible, as if he didn't want to draw the new enemy's attention. Liu Xing glanced toward Yu Heng and saw that he was wisely backing down too. Sooner or later, Yu Yongrui would use this opportunity to capture Yu Heng and his sister, and depending on the situation, there was a chance that Liu Xing would fail to save them.
Liu Xing wiped the blood from above his lips and observed the man before him. He looked young, almost as if they were the same age. However, the arcs of electricity that surrounded him and the fact that the man, standing with blood and dirt caking his exposed upper body, bore several wounds but still stood straight, gave him a domineering aura. This had to be the disciple from the Heavenly Lightning Sect who was supposed to be fighting disciples from the Verdant Mountain Sect, yet, he was here, and his enemies were not.
"Who are you? Why are you targeting me specifically?" Liu Xing asked. "Are you Yu Yongrui's ally? Do you side with the Nether Lotus Sect too?"
The man was indeed strong. His lightning affinity had to be so strong that the dark sky itself obeyed him—though currently, no lightning rained down. From what he could sense, Liu Xing's cultivation was higher, yet he had no doubt that this man was actually stronger. Still, Liu Xing was relatively fresh, while this man had just come from a difficult fight. The chance of Liu Xing killing him was not small.
One of his Eyes of Lightning caught sight of Yu Yongrui pivoting toward Yu Heng, and at that moment, Liu Xing willed one of his eyes to attach to Tide Walker and willed the shark to protect Yu Heng. While Tide Walker would be an immense help in fighting this man, the shark was needed elsewhere. His shark growled, began to float away from the man, and took off in Yu Heng's direction.

In total, he currently had five Eyes of Lightning. One was attached to Tide Walker, while the other four were still floating in the air. In this fight, it seemed he would need to rely more on his Eyes of Lightning, since he knew this man was so fast that his normal eyes could not catch his movements.
"This qi," the man said, pointing up with his spear toward the thousands of blue butterflies made from potent qi. "Is it yours?"
Liu Xing licked his lips. "What about it?"
"I see," the man said, nodding. He then lowered his stance, pointing the spear toward Liu Xing. "You're the saint candidate then?" He sneered and then let out a predatory smile. "Aren't I just lucky? I never thought I would meet you here. Yet, here you are, ready to be slaughtered and forcefully released from the position you stole from me."
Liu Xing narrowed his eyes, glanced toward his butterflies, and then looked down at the man again. How could the man know that he was a saint candidate? Were the butterflies some kind of sign? And what did he mean that Liu Xing had stolen the position from him? Did it mean that this man was supposed to have been the saint candidate?
"The name's Yin Feng," the man said, his smile widening slightly. "Core Splitting cultivator at the first stage. A disciple of the Heavenly Lightning Sect. People call me the Wrath of the Sky, and those Verdant Mountain disciples can attest to it."
At that moment, a voice commented. It was an old and gruff voice, and it sneered at his words. "You're not the Wrath of the Sky. You're merely a foolish disciple. You couldn't have survived that without begging me for help. And look at you now, you just jumped into another fight without thinking. What a stupid and foolish disciple."
Liu Xing tried to locate the source of the voice and noticed the ring on Yin Feng's thumb. It was an old and rusty ring, but the voice had indeed come from there.
"Well?" Yin Feng continued, as if expecting Liu Xing to answer.
"My name is Liu Xing," he answered in the end, ignoring the uneasiness in his heart. "I am currently a disciple of the Purple Moon Sect. People call me many names; however, I don't acknowledge any of them." He paused for a moment, then said, "Have we ever met? Why are you attacking me? Are you truly siding with the Nether Lotus Sect?"
"I am not siding with them, but for now, I want them to succeed in their plan," he said with a small laugh. "That is not the reason I'm going to kill you, though. As I said earlier, you took that saint candidate position from me, and everyone who steals from me deserves a thousand painful deaths."
"It's not that I wanted to be a saint candidate," Liu Xing said as he gripped both of his weapons and began channeling qi into them.
"Then let me relieve you of that position," he said, and then he moved.
At that moment, Liu Xing sharpened his focus, concentrating on all his eyes. The man was indeed fast; however, it seemed that his eyes were capable of tracking him.
Yin Feng arrived right below him and thrust his spear upward. Lightning shot out from his spear, intending to burn him. Liu Xing jumped off his shield, summoned it behind him, and kicked it, launching himself downward. A Lightning Cloak surrounded him as he slashed Harmony of Two Seas diagonally.
Yin Feng deflected the sword, rotated his body, and swung his spear sideways.
Seeing the attack, Liu Xing summoned his shield, kicked it, and launched himself to the side. As he flew through the air, he shot Exploding Fist bullets toward Yin Feng. Yin Feng swung his spear in a wide arc, destroying most of the bullets, and kicked off the ground as he thrust his spear forward. Another bolt of lightning shot from it and flew toward Liu Xing.
Seeing that, Liu Xing pulled the trigger of his gun again, releasing another six Exploding Fist bullets, and they all slammed into the lightning. They collided, creating a bright flash of light, and Liu Xing scanned the area with his normal eyes as well as his Eyes of Lightning.
"Up!" he said, as he looked up and saw Yin Feng descending, trying to skewer his head.
Seeing that, Liu Xing aimed his gun upward, shot Lightning Palm bullets toward his enemy, and dodged to the side. The moment the spear hit the earth, lightning exploded from it, and the Lightning Palm bullets hit Yin Feng's body. However, as expected of an enemy with a lightning affinity, the paralyzing effect was not long-lasting.
Liu Xing slammed his right foot to the ground, shouted, and thrust Harmony of Two Seas forward. Instantly, a jet of water shot out from the tip of his sword, intending to skewer Yin Feng. Yin Feng rotated in the air, dodging the jet of water before he landed on the ground and once again launched himself toward Liu Xing.
From that moment, the battle between the two lightning-affinity cultivators continued. Both used lightning techniques to enhance themselves. Yin Feng focused on explosive speed, while Liu Xing focused on balanced enhancement. Yin Feng was a close-range fighter with the ability to launch ranged attacks, and Liu Xing was much the same. There were moments where they simply exchanged attacks. The pinging of metal meeting metal reverberated as the sword and spear shot lightning and jets of water, while Liu Xing's gun shot Exploding Fist bullets rapidly toward his enemy. Soon, the ground where they fought was upturned and destroyed; boulders cut by jets of water were pulverized by lightning strikes.
After a full minute of fighting, Liu Xing and Yin Feng thought the same thing, their opponent was strong. But both also believed they were winning, since each had an ace up his sleeve. Liu Xing had his gun, while Yin Feng had the old man in his ring.
