Chapter 80
"Good morning Mr. President."
Finally, a month had passed and the signatories of the Lantean Commonwealth had arrived for what would go down in history as the official start of this new order. The mood was regal underneath the Mountain where Prime Ministers and Delegates from foreign worlds had gathered under the auspicious protection of Cheyenne Mountain. Here the representatives of over 100 of the most technologically advanced Worlds in three galaxies would come together and cement their new alliance. Joining them were press corps from over a dozen worlds: The Pangar Press, the Galar Gazette, and TCNN now officially rebranded "The Commonwealth News Network" stood lining Earth's Gateroom armed with alien microphones and cameras all for the purpose of recording for all time this momentous day. Also in attendance at the ceremony was Liam Neeson, the President of the United States.
"It's been so long, George?" said President Neeson.
"It certainly has, Mr. President,"responded General George Hammond, leader of Stargate Command.
General Hammond escorted the President into the gateroom where red carpet and stately decorations had been set up. The two proceeded walking further into the gateroom where they were met by four people in formal attire.
"Mr. President, allow me to introduce you to SG-1," said the proud General.
Standing across from President Liam Neeson was none other than Earth's elite team – SG-1.
"Starting on my left is Colonel Jack O'Neill, Major Samantha Carter, Dr. Daniel Jackson, and one of our alien allies, Teal'c of Chulak."
President Neeson extended his hand to shake Col. O'Neill's.
"I've heard so much about all of your exploits. You've saved our asses time and time again. Believe me when I say, it's an honor," said President Liam Neeson.
"Thank you Mr. President, and I must say that I love your politics, almost as much as I love your movies,"said the always comical Jack O'Neill.
President Neeson laughed. "It's been a little while since I've been in any Hollywood blockbusters, but honestly, being President isn't all that different."
Turning to his entourage, President Neeson began to introduce those in his party.
Joining him was the Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense, and Major Paul Davis Chief Pentagon liaison between Stargate Command and the Pentagon.
"Major,"said General Hammond as he shook Major Davis's hand.
"Greetings General, SG-1. This meeting has got a lot of people buzzing at the Pentagon. After the signing of this Charter, all of our problems will most likely be solved,"said Major Davis.
"Oh, I won't go that far just yet,"said Colonel O'Neill.
"Still, both the current administration, and the Pentagon, are hoping a solid trade agreement and defence pact can be worked out between Earth and this new Commonwealth."
"Well why wouldn't they?" said a mysterious unknown man unintroduced to the leadership at Stargate Command.
SG-1 and General Hammond turned to the direction of this mysterious man who was wearing an old beat up grey blazer, tacky polo, and worn out khakis.
"Oh, General Hammond, SG-1, allow me to introduce the research head at Area 51, Dr. Rodney Mckay," said Major Paul Davis. "He is our lead scientist on all of the Ancient's technology you brought back through the Stargate."
"Oh my God, I've read your work, truly fascinating,"said Major Carter.
Mckay looked up and down Carter's slender form with one hand on his hip.
"And who might you be beautiful?"said Dr. Rodney Mckay.
"Um, I'm Major Samantha —"
"Sure you are,"blurted McKay, cutting her off.
"Listen, I'm in town all week, maybe we can get together and research each other, I mean each other's work, how does that sound?"said Mckay, ever the pervert.
"I believe Major Carter is busy,"said Teal'c, coming to her defense.
"Busy, with what!?"squirmed McKay.
Carter cleared her throat.
"Deep space radar telemetry," she said, trying to keep a straight face.
General Hammond checked his watch and then motioned his hand towards the blast doors.
"Come now, it's getting late, let me show you to the banquet hall we've set up."
As they made their way into the ornate banquet hall set up for the special occasion, SG-1 took the time to marvel at what was once just the SGC mess hall.
"Wow, you'd think we'd be eating like this every day," said O'Neill.
"I don't know Jack, I'm pretty sure the wine and horderves are only for our special guests," replied Daniel in a cheeky response.
"What I'm saying Daniel is — Oh nevermind." said O'Neill as he popped one of the catered sandwiches in his mouth.
Once inside the banquet hall, SG1 split up and walked around mingling with the many guests. Many of the worlds that were present, Stargate Command had never met before. Still not only were worlds eager to meet the leadership of the Planet Earth but many of the worlds gathered were also meeting and setting up trade deals with one another. In one corner, Hebrodan and Serrakin officials were speaking with members of the Tollan Curia discussing a trade of hyperspace technology and phase shifting. In another corner, Orbanian Elders were speaking with Valar and the representatives from Galar on the possibility of trading Orbanian nanite technology with Valar's memory transfer technology. In yet another corner, General Latoya, part of the Eurondan delegation made their way to Jack O'Neill who was standing beside the wine cooler with none other than his best friend Teal'c.
"Hello, are you Colonel Jack O'Neill… and are you the one who goes by the name Teal'c?"said General Latoya.
"Indeed we are,"said Teal'c.
"Hello, my name is General Sasha Latoya. I come from the planet Euronda,"said the sturdy female General.
After discovering where she was from Teal'c and O'Neill paid closer attention to the woman and took in everything she had to say.
"It has come to our attention that you two were the ones responsible for downing that fighter and bringing down Alar's government," said General Latoya.
"Yes, that's right; It was us. That guy was a real… Nazi, right Teal'c?"
"Indeed, he was,"affirmed Teal'c.
General Latoya laughed, "Alar and his government — the Eugenicists — were troubled individuals, always afraid of diversity and people of different ethnicities. They darkened our skies and poisoned our environment just so the rest of the Eurondan population couldn't breed and threaten their race's dominance."
"Yeah… we found that out real quick,"said Col. O'Neill.
General Latoya continued, "Because of your efforts we were able to win the war and with the help of the Lantean Commonwealth, we have been able to take back the surface of the planet."
"Wow, that's great news,"said O'Neill.
General Latoya shook her head in agreement and continued, "I understand that Earth is interested in Eurondan aerofighter technology?"
O'Neill who was drinking spiked kool-aid nearly choked when General Latoya mentioned Aerofighters, the same Aerofighters present over the Battle of Tollana.
"Yes mam, we would love to have access to that technology," responded General O'Neill.
General Latoya cleared her throat and said, "Because of what you've done for us, we are willing to give you access to Eurondan Aerofighters as well as a litany of other Eurondan technologies like our fusion and shield generators."
O'Neill and Teal'c looked at each other and smiled.
"That would be most appreciated, mam!" said O'Neill.
"Good, we'll talk more when the ceremony is over,"said General Latoya as she left to once again mingle with the crowd.
O'Neill slapped Teal'c on the back, "See what happens when you do the right thing Teal'c."
Teal'c gave his usual grunts of approval, then slowly turned his head to look at O'Neill. "How did they know, O'Neill?"
"Huh?"asked O'Neill.
"How did they know it was us who brought down Alar's base." Teal'c reaffirmed.
Meanwhile on the other side of the banquet hall, Major Carter walked over to a very familiar face.
"Hello Dad!" said Samantha Carter.
"Sam, come here kid, it's good to see you,"said General Jacob Carter as he hugged his daughter.
"What did the Tokra say when we returned Hebron to them?"said Major Carter.
"They were cautiously thrilled that Hebron had returned to us, especially after all the devastation Tanith caused on Tollana,"said Jacob.
"Cautious. Why would they be cautious?" worried Major Carter.
General Carter took a deep breath and looked around the room to see if he was being watched, "Sam, this new group calling themselves the Lantean Commonwealth is highly suspicious.
"Dad, come on now,"Major Carter said as she rolled her eyes.
"Tokra Intelligence has one of the best intelligence networks in the galaxy and still we haven't heard of them. This has many on the Tok'ra High Council skeptical.
"Come on Dad, Tokra Intelligence didn't even know that the Tollan Curia had been compromised by the Goa'uld,"responded Major Carter.
"You're right about that. We dropped the ball in that regard,"said Jacob tacitly agreeing with Sam's snide remark.
"Dad, I was there. The ships, the weaponry, the power and technology that they possess. They took out two Goa'uld at the same time. Not even we were able to do that. Their rise could be everything that we need to defeat the Goa'uld once and for all," said Major Carter.
Jacob shook his head in dismay and said, "Still, the rise of this new group and the power that they possess. Frankly Sam, anyone who can take on a Goa'uld fleet of nearly 200 ships and not loose a single one, would make anyone on Revanna frightened."
Suddenly a white light flashed in Jacob's eye, bringing to the forefront Selmak his Tokra symbiote.
"Hello Samantha,"said Selmak.
Sam's eyes widened with shock. "Hello Selmak!"
"What your father says is true. If a new power has emerged in this galaxy we would have known about it," said the Tokra High Council member. "Our operatives tell us that besides the Hebridan and Tollan delegations, many of the worlds still represented here today are too primitive to have developed any of the technologies used by the Commonwealth. Meaning one of two things. They either are lying about who they are, or —
"They stole it,"said Sam, finishing Selmak off.
"I understand your fears, however they seem to have our best interest in heart. Besides we acquire advanced technology here at Stargate Command all the time, but we don't steal it – any more at least. We just find it out there and use it. I'm sure that is the truth in their case. All we can do now, is hope for the best and get as much out of this as possible, "said Major Carter as she took a sip of her wine.
"Excuse me… Major Carter?"
Major Carter turned around to see Kalan standing behind her.
"Kalan, hi! What a pleasant surprise!"said Major Carter.
Standing with Kalan's hand on their shoulders were two Uronne children: Tomin and Merrin.
"Oh my god!" said Major Carter. "Tomin… Merrin… is that really you?"
"Indeed it is, Major Carter,"said Merrin.
"We have missed you deeply since the last time you visited Orban,"said Tomin.
Carter took a hard and inquisitive look at the two Orban children. Then looked back up at Kalan.
"Kalan, how is it that they are speaking, didn't they both go through the Averium?"
Kalan nodded his head and chuckled, "We've made several advances in our nanite technology since we've joined the Commonwealth. Now our nanites not only store data but they also heal,".
"Is this true,"said Major Carter, her curiosity piqued.
"Indeed it is, Major Carter both Merrin and I are fine, better even, with our new medical nanite technology,"said Tomin filled with pride.
"Maybe you can come back to Orban and we can show you more of our next generation nanites," said Kalan.
"Yeah, I'd like that,"said Major Carter, finishing off her wine.
As the rest of the signatories gathered in Stargate Command's banquet hall, Dr. Daniel Jackson and Professor Sarah Gardner were standing near a wall admiring the many guests.
"The Tokra are here, the Free Jaffa, the Asgard, even the Nox have arrived to see this new Commonwealth. That's some of the most powerful players in this galaxy."
"Have you met them all," Sarah asked.
Daniel took a sip of his wine and said, "Some of the people here I know personally, others I haven't the slightest clue, still if this was the beginning of a new alliance, we are starting out really strong" said Daniel Jackson.
"I'm sure you'll get the opportunity to meet all of them as time goes on," reassured Sarah.
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
"Daniel! Daniel, my boy!"
Coming up to Daniel and Sarah was none other than Kasuf, father of Sha're, along with Skaara her brother.
"Good father… What are you doing here? Has Abydos joined the Commonwealth?"asked Daniel.
"A few weeks ago a group of beautiful women in white came to Abydos, flirted with us, promised us endless love and marriage, then invited us here,"said Kasuf."They promised to cook for us, clean for us, and make love to us all while making Abydos a prosperous world. They also told us that there was a surprise waiting for us on Earth.
"Hmm,Is that so?"said Daniel looking over at Sarah whose head was turned laughing.
"Daniel I told you when we got back that I can't discuss certain things with you during my time with the Commonwealth,"said Sarah. "You're just going to have to wait."
Then Skaara stepped forward to speak and said, "Daniel, at the beginning of the year a man and woman came to us and mentioned you."
"Really, h-how did they know me?" said a bewildered Daniel Jackson.
Kasuf interrupted and said, "You're right! I had almost forgotten. The young man said he was your protege and asked to see the grave of Sha're."
Daniel looked at Sarah again inquisitively and said, "You knew about this?"
Sarah shrugged her shoulders and kept her mouth shut knowing that soon the truth would be revealed.
The final guests arrived at the meeting and all of the delegates made their way to their assigned tables. When everyone was in place, General Hammond marched to the front of the room to greet the dignified guests.
"Greetings, my name is General Hammond, leader of this base,"bellowed the stalwart General.
"I have just been informed by our Host that we will not be having the meeting in this room, but in a little while we will be beamed out to their ship where a similar dining arrangement has been set up. So Standby."
General Hammond walked off stage and chatter amongst the delegates resumed.
Then suddenly a brilliant beam of iridescent light appeared on the stage at the SGC.
"Hello everyone, allow me to reintroduce myself. My name is Amos Fyree."
The crowd of delegates cheered in applause as Amos Fyree, Reva and Freya, clad in white Lantean attire, stood on stage ready to welcome everyone to the signing of the Commonwealth Charter.
"As General Hammond stated, we've prepared a dining experience for you, and we will not be having the meeting in this room. We just wanted to use Stargate Command as a meeting place so all in attendance can gather and be transported to the actual location. So Standby."
In a matter of seconds the entire banquet hall vanished into thin air. When they had reappeared, they found themselves outdoors, on a giant pier, on an alien planet. They were surrounded by large white columns, and ornate golden decor, adorned with a pristine mahogany finish. Above these columns were yellow lanterns, shaped like little orbs tied together like Christmas lights on a winter's day. In front of them were round tables covered in white table cloths and untouched decorative plates. Each plate had Lantean and English engravings on them which said: "Welcome to the Lantean Commonwealth." Indeed, the entire scene was elegant and divine; but nothing was as divine as the sight the delegates beheld when they looked up at the sky.
"it's a — It's a – it's a city!"said one of the bewildered guests. Lying before them was a magnificent city; a golden city stretched out on what appeared to be a dry and arid land. There they were, situated on the southern pier of a shimmering golden citadel far away from where they originally started on Earth and unaware of how to get back home.
"Sam, where are we?"said Col. O'Neill.
"It appears we're on another planet sir,"said Major Carter.
"Look, two moons," said Dr. Rodney Mckay as he pointed to the sky.
It was the middle of the night, wherever they were, and SG-1 and the Earth delegation could barely make out the red landscape with large jagged mountains in the distance.
"George, did you know this was going to happen,"said President Liam Neeson.
"No, Sir, I'm sorry I did not," said General Hammond.
General Hammond looked up at Amos, a confused look on his face and said, "Son, I thought you said you were beaming us up to your ship?"
Amos stepped forwards and replied, "We are on a ship; a Second Generation Lantean City Ship situated on the caldera of Olympus Mons on the fourth Planet in your system, Mars; or as we have come to call it: Alfheim."
Amos grabbed a fork and tapped a wine glass to draw the attention of all the guests in attendance.
"Please everyone, have a seat. In a few short minutes my elves will be handing out menus with a touch screen interface. Just look over the menu and touch the item that you want and the food should materialize in front of you on your plates using Commonwealth matter conversion technology."
The dignitaries took their seats and beautiful women wearing white handed each of them menus as Amos said.
"Hmm… steak," said Dr. Mckay as he pressed the menu. "Well would you look at that,"said Dr. McKay as a well done steak dinner appeared on his plate.
"Hmm… looks like they got Red Lobster as well,"said O'Neill. On his plate appeared a giant lobster accompanied by steak and a slew of different sides
"Mmm" said O'Neill. "Cheddar biscuits."
As the signatories of the Charter of the Lantean Commonwealth began eating, Amos Fyree stood up and officially began the meeting.
"Before I begin, I would like to reveal to you the truth about who I am, what planet I originated from, and other secrets that I have kept hidden from you for all this time,"said Amos.
"The reason why I chose Earth as the meeting place for this event is because —"
Amos took a brief pause, looked out at the crowd, and continued:
"I'm from Earth."
"What!" said Major Carter.
"Huh!"said Daneil Jackson.
"Impossible!" said Teal'c
"I knew it!" shouted Col. O'Neill standing up from his chair.
Everyone turned to look at Jack.
"What… it was the Star Fleet Uniforms,"said Jack as he sheepishly retook his seat.
Hysteria spread throughout the entire delegation as Amos continued.
"Not only am I from Earth; I'm a part of Stargate Command,"added Amos.
President Neeson leaned in to General Hammond and whispered, "George he's one of yours?"
"I'm sorry, Mr. President but I haven't seen this man a day in my life," said General Hammond, red coming all over his face.
People continued to mumble and whisper as Amos proceeded.
"Not only am I from Stargate Command…"he paused once more, preparing for the biggest revelation of them all.
"I'm a member of SG-1."
"Here we go,"said Daniel as he took his table cloth and threw it on the plate in front of him.
"I should have brought my P90,"said Col. O'Neill
"Do you think he's another Lt. Tyler?"said Teal'c.
"This can't be, it has to be a joke,"said Major Samantha Carter.
As the noise grew louder outside on the Southern Pier of Alfheim's Lantean City Ship, Amos lifted his hands to quiet the crowds.
"Everyone pay attention — From 15 years in the future,"
"Uh uh, there's no way" said Major Samantha Carter, her head teaming with the improbabilities.
As the crowd continued to clamor, Penegal, a member of the Asgard delegation, stood up and addressed the attendees.
"It is true,"said the Asgard High Chancellor, his mystical authority silencing all those in attendance. "About a year ago, Amos Fyree came through O'thalla's Stargate, much like O'Neill did several years ago. There we performed tests on him and according to our quantum analysis he is indeed telling the truth: he's from the future."
"Well why didn't you tell us that you had one of our own?"said General Hammond.
"That is because for the past year, Amos Fyree has been working with the Asgard in secret in order to make this alliance due to his revelation about certain events yet to occur,"said the wise Penegal.
"High Chancellor Penegal is right," said Amos. "Revealing my existence earlier would have hindered my work."
"And what work is that?"asked General Hammond.
"To prevent destruction."
The whole auditorium jeered in whispers as the real reason why Amos Fyree kept his identity a secret made its way throughout those gathered on Alfheim's southern pier.
Amos walked off the stage and began walking in the midst of the various tables and delegations.
"The galaxy is much different in the future that I come from. Not only is the galaxy different, Earth is different. Currently, General Hammond is leader of Stargate Command, but about seven years from now, he dies of a heart attack,"said Amos as a look of dread came over General Hammond's face. "Instead, we are led by our new leader, General Samantha Carter."
The entire Earth delegation turned to look at Samantha Carter as the young Major sat there eyes wide with awe.
"Col. O'Neill is still around, however, he's no longer a Colonel or member of SG-1. No, he's been promoted to the rank of Major General and leads a new department overseeing all homeworld security called Homeworld Command; at this very moment, Homeworld Command doesn't exist."
Major Davis turns to look at O'Neill who was leaning back in his chair once again eating a cheddar biscuit.
"Teal'c is still a member of SG-1 although he spends most of his time on Dakara where he serves as a council member on the Free Jaffa Nation."
The Jaffa delegation looked at each other with great confusion, then turned back to look at Amos.
"I am actually a replacement for Dr. Jackson,"said Amos, as Daniel's head turned to look at Sarah who was sitting beside him with a bright smile on her face. "Like Major Carter and Col. O'Neill, Dr. Jackson also gets promoted. He has a desk job in Washington, DC where he leads the International Oversight Advisory; the international civilian body that governs all things related to Earth's Stargate Program."
"This is ludicrous!" blurted Rak'nor, a member of the Jaffa delegation. "How can the Free Jaffa Nation be situated on Dakara, when it is currently being controlled by Baal."
Amos looked at Rak'nor on the other side of the assembly and said, "That is because in three years the Goa'uld System Lords will be no more."
The delegates gasped, news of the System Lord's eventual demise took the majority of them by surprise.
"The future where I come from is drastically different from the world that exists today," said Amos. "Earth, for instance, is no longer a primitive backwater planet. In the future I come from, Earth is technologically advanced and boasts one of the greatest intergalactic fleets in three galaxies. Atlantis has been rediscovered, and Earth projects its power in different galaxies. Indeed, you may refer to my world in the Milky Way as the Tauri, or in Ida as Midgard, but in the future – in Pegasus – they refer to us as Lanteans."
The attendees sat back in their seats, mesmerized with awe.
"Indeed, the balance of power in the future where I come from is also quite different from today. The Goa'uld have been defeated. In Pegasus our future enemies the Wraith are on their heels. Other enemies, the power the likes you can't even begin to imagine, have all been defeated by Earth. However, in the long struggle for freedom, most — if not all — of the groups represented here today, do not make it.
Gasps and auspicious looks could be seen throughout the audience, the majority of the crowd responding with great fear to Amos's words.
"If the Commonwealth fleet wouldn't have arrived over Tollana, all of Tollan civilization would have been wiped out and Omak would have remained dead. If the Commonwealth fleet wouldn't have arrived over Adara II to assist Thor, he would have been captured by the Goa'uld and the System Lord Osiris would still be on the loose. In the future, Euronda is still desolate. Hebridan and the Free Jaffa are both crippled — still rebuilding after fighting a future enemy called the Ori. Even the delegations from Pegasus like the Taranians and the people from Hoff, are destroyed, wiped out due to natural disasters or by the Wraith. Even the Asgard, the mightiest of the civilizations represented here today, no longer exist; having been wiped out by an unforeseen genetic disease caused by excess cloning."
Amos paused to collect his thoughts, then continued.
"Although I come from the planet Earth, I did not build this Commonwealth just for them, I built it for all of you. I built the Commonwealth so that this time, all of us will survive," spoke Amos in the midst of thunderous applause.
Amos continued to walk amidst the tables of guests and said, "For the past year I have been working with the Asgard in secret in an attempt to prevent the demise of their civilization as well as all of yours. In my quest, I have sought out allies and accumulated advanced technologies which should prevent your destruction."
Garshaw, a member of the Tokra delegation, became troubled by Amos Fyree's words and moved to ask him a question.
"Excuse me, Mr. Fyree," she said.
"Yes, Councilor Garshaw" Amos responded.
"Do the Tokra not survive the war with the Goa'uld?" she asked.
Amos walked up to Garshaw, placed his hand on her shoulder and said, "In the future, there are fewer than 1,000 Tokra left. Without Queen Egeria, the Tok'ra are unable to rebuild their numbers and are slowly dying out. There has been some talk of using cloning to extend the Tok'ra's lifespan however, like the Asgard, the Tokra are doomed to the same fate."
Amos looked deep into Garshaw's eyes and said, "Don't be afraid. With the tools that I have accumulated, the Tok'ra as well as the rest of you assembled will not die out, but go boldly into the future."
Amos walked back to the front and hopped back on stage where Reva and Freya were still standing. He then raised his hands towards the crowd and said, "Coincidently, the technology that I would like to showcase tonight deals primarily with the Tok'ra."
Garshaw and the Tokra delegation looked at each other in shock when Amos said these words.
"As I said earlier, without Queen Egeria the Tok'ra are doomed to a slow death as a species. For the past year I have been looking for a replacement for Queen Egeria to take up the mantle as Queen of the Tok'ra. However, in my journeys I have come up short,"said Amos. "Instead of finding a replacement for Queen Egeria, I found something better. Queen Egeria herself."
A befuddled look fell over the faces of the Tok'ra delegation.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, without further adieu, I'd like to introduce you all to Queen Egeria of the Tok'ra."
When Amos had finished saying these words, a radiant blue light appeared before all those assembled, bringing with it none other than Queen Egeria of the Tok'ra.
When Dr. Jackson saw this woman however, both he, as well as Kasuf and Skaara, stood to their feet dumbfounded by the presence of the woman who stood before them. In a single breath, all of them uttered a name they thought they would never call out again.
"Sha're!"
The beautiful red haired woman's eyes flashed white, then turned towards Daniel and Kasuf and said, "I'm sorry Kasuf, Dr. Jackson, but I am not Sha're; I am Queen Egeria of the Tok'ra."
Amos smiled, shook his head and said, "She's right. That is not Sha're…"
"This is."
Beaming down right beside Queen Egeria was Sha're, the former wife of Dr. Daniel Jackson.
"Dan-yel!"screamed Sha're.
"Sha're!" screamed an emphatic Daniel Jackson.
Sha're draped in her own white Lantean attire, then ran off the stage, towards her bewildered husband.
"Is it really you?"said Daniel.
"Yes, it really is,"responded Sha're.
Sha're then turned to her father Kasuf and her brother Skaara, both filled with tears.
"My daughter!"said Kasuf.
"My sister!" said Skaara.
The four of them then wrapped themselves in a warm embrace as they soaked in this miracle.
Daniel turned to Sarah who was sitting beside him and said, "You knew didn't you?"
Sha're then laughed and said, "Of course she did, I told her to be silent until I returned."
As the joyous sight of Dr. Jackson, Kasuf and Skaara reuniting with Sha're filled Alfheim's southern pier, the remaining signatories of the Commonwealth Charter erupted in applause. When the applause died down Jacob Carter's eyes flashed white, bringing his Tok'ra symbiote Selmak to the forefront.
"Wait, if that is Sha're then who is that standing before us?"said Selmak.
Queen Egeria turned to him and said, "I assure you Selmak, I am Queen Egeria of the Tok'ra."
Amos then opened his mouth and interjected, "We have proof! We have proof! Could the honorable delegate from Pangar please come forward."
In the rear table a man wearing a decorative grey trench coat stood up to address the signatories of the Commonwealth Charter.
"Greetings, my name is Dollen, first representative of the People's Republic of Pangar. As I spoke with many of you before the beginning of this meeting, my world is in possession of a drug called Tretonin," said the sturdy leader of Pangar. "With this drug, my people have been able to live long and healthy lives free of diseases and illness. In order to make Tretonin, however," Dollen paused to formulate his words more carefully. "...my people did experiments on a live Goa'uld Queen found in our planet's ruins."
Gasps and murmurs could be heard throughout all the delegations gathered as they took in Dollen's shocking revelation.
"Until the Commonwealth arrived at Pangar, we had no idea who that Goa'uld Queen actually was. However, it was revealed to us that it was in fact not a Goa'uld at all, but Queen Egeria of the Tokra,"said Dollen, finishing his address.
Garshaw and the other Tokra, mouths opened wide, as they turned to take in the presence of their former Queen.
Dollen then walked forward to the front of the pier, where the Tok'ra delegation were sitting, and presented a vase to Garshaw etched in Goa'uld writings.
"Garshaw," said Amos, "Would you mind reading the words written on the vase to us."
Councilor Garshaw then lifted up the vase to her eyes and read aloud, "Here lies Queen Egeria, damned of Ra, banished for — Oh ancestors!"she stopped abruptly.
Amos then placed his hands on Queen Egeria's shoulders and said, "This is, in fact, Queen Egeria of the Tokra. A little over a year from now, SG-1 finds Queen Egeria in much the same way we did. They contacted the Tok'ra and tried to revive her, however, by that time it was too late. Queen Egeria dies."
A curious look then appeared on Selmak's face and he turned to Amos once again and said, "Amos, you still haven't answered my question. How is it that Queen Egeria and Sha're look exactly alike, and how is it that Sha're is even alive in the first place?" asked Selmak, suspicion evident in his tone.
Reva, who was standing on stage next to Egeria opened her mouth in response and said, "We used Lantean Replicator technology to create a biosynthetic replicant of Sha're's body. We also added replicator technology to the Goa'uld sarcophagus in order to create Commonwealth Resurrection Chambers. As you know, Goa'uld resurrection technology doesn't rebuild dead tissue or rebuild organs. The biosynthetic polymer in the replicator bed is capable of reconstructing tissue and organs at the molecular level. We used that to rebuild Sha're's body and make it practically new. It should also be noted that we resurrected Omak using the same technology."
O'Neill leaned in towards Teal'c and said, "Wow, T… looks like we found someone smarter than Carter."
Major Carter, upon hearing these words, blinked her eyes rapidly and said, "Wait, you used replicator technology?"
"That is correct,"replied Reva.
Amos moved from Queen Egeria towards Major Carter and said, "One of the first things I did when I got here was help the Asgard defeat the Replicators."
Selmak bowed his head reverting back to General Jacob Carter. He then said, "Wait, are we talking about those little buggers that almost killed us on board Apophis's ship?"
"That's right,"said Amos. "The Replicators are actually war machines created by the Ancients during their war against beings called Wraith. Their real home isn't in the Milky Way or Ida Galaxies but in Pegasus. I helped the Asgard develop a weapon that, when fired, will make each replicator cell inert. We then used the satellite on their homeworld and then confiscated their technology."
"Genius,"said Major Carter.
"Indeed,"added Teal'c.
"With a team of Asgard we repurposed this technology to create organic life forms indistinguishable from humans called elves," added Amos. "In fact, the two assistants that you see on stage with me today, as well as the beautiful women who handed out your menus, and everyone else you might find on this planet, are also elves.
The Earth delegation, as well as the other delegates, turned to look at all the beautiful hostesses around them as they said in one voice, "Hello, everyone. Serving the Commonwealth is our reason for being."
"Holy shit, I can't believe he made his own sexbots,"mumbled Dr. Mckay. "He might actually be smarter than me!"
"One of the best parts about this technology is that the elves can also serve as hosts to Goa'uld and Tokra symbiotes,"said Amos. Amos turned towards the Tok'ra delegation, clasped both hands together and asked, "Did you all bring any symbiotes like I requested?"
Garshaw and the other Tok'ra jumped to attention and said, "Why yes, yes we did. Tokra… Kree!"
Garshaw, and the other Tok'ra with her then produced two live Tok'ra symbiotes much to the rest of the Commonwealth's delegate's dismay. The Tok'ra delegation then came on stage where they stood by Amos, Reva, Freya and Queen Egeria.
"Helping me with this demonstration are my two lovely assistants, Reva and Freya. Ladies you have the floor,"said Amos as he and Egeria stepped aside.
"Hello, my name is Freya Fyree and this is my sister Reva Fyree," she said. "As Amos previously stated, Reva and I are actually biosynthetic lifeforms made using Lantean technology found in the Pegasus galaxy. Although we have an AI generated consciousness, it is possible to create elven bodies like Egeria's without a living soul, capable of serving as hosts to Tokra symbiotes.
The two then materialized two kinos and crystal disks with their wrist matter converters and used them to print two brand new elven replicator beds. Freya then turned to Garshaw who was holding a live Tokra symbiote suspended in an alien glass jar.
"What is this symbiote's name?"asked Freya.
"Lantash,"answered Garshaw.
Freya nodded her head then began pressing buttons on the elven printer, "Using a quantum algorithm that I created, we can make any elven body using only a picture. Fortunately, we already have a picture of Lantash's former host Martouf on file."
Suddenly, a body exactly identical to Martouf appeared on the elven bed. Whispers and jeers could be heard throughout those dining at the meeting.
"And what is the name of this symbiote?"asked Reva.
"This symbiote's name is Kanan,"said another Tokra delegate.
"Unfortunately, we don't have any pictures of Kanan's former symbiote on file so we'll have to go through the Asuran database to find a body that may suffice," said Reva as she typed on the elven printer.
Soon, another body emerged on the Reva's table; dark and bold in appearance.
Freya stepped forward and addressed the audience, "Ok everyone, for the next part we're going to close this area off with curtains. We will remove them once the blending is complete.
Sure enough, Freya and Reva produced two large curtains which covered the entirety of the stage. Afterwards the Tok'ra symbiotes exited their large containers and made their way to their new hosts.
Within a few minutes the blending had completed and Reva and Freya removed the curtains covering the stage.
As the Tok'ra delegation, as well as those assembled, peered at the new hosts for Lantash and Kanan, the first host's eyes flashed white and life entered the body of the unconscious vessel.
"Where am I?"said Lantash as the old Tok'ra rose from his bed. "Where is Martouf, I do not sense his presence?"
"You are on the Commonwealth world of Alfheim,"replied Freya. "You do not sense Martouf because this is not Martouf's body, it is yours alone."
On the other bed, Kanan's eyes also flashed white and the other host sat up on the elven bed. "This body… it feels… strange," said Kanan.
"It may take some getting used to, but other than that it should work perfectly fine. In fact, it should work more than fine, with this new body you should have enhanced strength and mental capabilities"said Reva.
"Oh yeah, that reminds me,"Amos interrupted.
"During our travels we discovered something new about the Goa'uld and Tok'ra. It appears that each symbiote has latent telepathic capabilities,"said Amos. "Without having to push back against a host's consciousness, each symbiote can access more regions of the mind which allows them to replicate the powers of the Ancients. Egeria, would you mind demonstrating this for us."
Egeria then turned to an empty table and proceeded to lift the entire table into the air with her mind.
The attendees were once again baffled by Egeria's use of telekinetic power and continued to discuss amongst themselves the meaning of these things they had witnessed today.
Egeria lowered the table with her mind and the remaining Tokra delegation got in line.
"Tokra, Kree!"said Garshaw as the Tokra bowed before Queen Egeria.
"Rise, my children. It has been thousands of years since I have been in your presence. Now that I have returned we must vanquish the Goa'uld and set out to create a new order."
The entire assembly rose in exultation to celebrate the return of Queen of the Egeria as well as the Commonwealth's groundbreaking new discovery.
Amos quieted down the crowd and continued
"This technology, as well as the return of Queen Egeria, holds the most promise in resurrecting the Tokra race. Not only can it help the Tokra but it can also help other races like the Asgard. As a matter of fact, Thor is in an elven body right now, having received one after sustaining substantial damage in the battle against Osiris. Moreover, the Tretonin that was created on Pangar, can be transformed into a drug that can liberate the Jaffa from the need of a Primta, the larva version of the Goa'uld. Currently my Elven scientists are working on Tretonin laced nanites. With only one dose, the nanites will be able to secrete the necessary amounts of Tretonin and the Jaffa will finally be able to be free from the genetic yoke of the Goa'uld."
After Egeria and Amos had said these words, all those attending the meeting stood and gave another round of thunderous applause. Once the Tokra delegation had returned to their seats, Amos stepped out amongst the banquet tables and began to address all those in attendance one last time.
"Millions of years ago, there was once an alliance of four great races. Two of those races are here with us today," said Amos as he gestured towards the Asgard and the Nox. "With all of the technologies that you've seen here today. The replicator technology, the resurrection technology, even the matter conversion technology at your tables. All of these things serve towards a greater purpose."
Amos stood in the midst of the congregation of Commonwealth worlds and said, "As I said to some of you back on Valhalla, I know where the Ancients are."
The gasps returned followed by the whispers, then Amos continued.
"With all of the technology you've witnessed today, we have the means to bring back the Ancients and restore Lantean Civilization to the stars."
The entire delegation stood in applause, after hearing Amos Fyree's words.
Upon completing his speech, a hologram displaying the Commonwealth Charter appeared. Amos then printed a pen and invited representatives of each world to come forward and sign the charter of the Lantean Commonwealth.
