Chapter 40

  Chapter 40

After the events on Pangar, the crew of the Skidbladnir returned to their ship, this time with a new passenger in tow. This wasn’t just some ordinary passenger however, this was Egeria, Queen of the Tok'ra; but as soon as Egeria arrived on the Skidbladnir she realized that things were not all as they appeared.

“Excellent guys, we did it!” said Amos, breathing a sigh of relief.

“It was hard for me to keep my composure,” said Freyr.

“At least we got who we came from,” added Sha’re glancing over at her new twin.

“You knew? You knew all along that I was on the planet?” said Egeria bewildered by this revelation.

“Yes, Egeria, we knew you were there, this entire operation was really a rescue mission,” said Amos.

“What about the Lantean Commonwealth? Was that all a lie too?” she said as a cautious look grew on her face.

“No, the Lantean Commonwealth is real and we came to this planet not only to recruit Pangar into the Commonwealth but also you and your people. For the last year we have been recruiting worlds and accumulating technologies to do battle with the Goa’uld. Many of the System Lords you once knew are now dead, including Ra your ex husband. Your people, the Tok'ra, are formidable allies that have defeated countless Goa’uld with the help of my planet Earth. We hope to win them over to our cause. We knew our chances with them would be greater if we had you on our side,” said Amos as he sat down in the Captain’s chair.

“So are you taking me back to my people now?” she asked.

The author's tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.

“No, not yet, we were hoping you would come with us until we had everything ready,” said Amos. “At the end of the year there is going to be a meeting of Commonwealth member worlds. There they will sign the charter of the Lantean Commonwealth. We hope to introduce you to the Tok'ra and get them to sign the charter of the Commonwealth.”

Egeria paced back and forth for a moment trying to comprehend what she had been told. Unfortunately, she didn’t quite understand how they came to know she was there in the first place.

“So how did you all even know I was on that Planet?” Egeria asked.

Amos hesitated to respond knowing none of them, except Reva or Freyr, knew how he actually got there. Then suddenly, Reva blurted out the truth:

“Amos is from the future,” she said, nonchalant to what she had done.

Both Sha’re and Karlan turned around, equally shocked by Reva’s statement.

  “Is that true?” asked Karlan.

  “There’s no way,” said Sha’re.

“It’s true, I come from the future. I am originally from the planet Earth. Fifteen years from now, there was an accident on board one of our ships called the George Hammond. I escaped the ship and tried to dial the gate back to Earth. When I went through the Stargate, however, I didn’t arrive back on Earth. I arrived on the Asgard world of O’thalla 15 years in the past. I’ve been working with the Asgard ever since trying to correct the timeline,” said Amos with a look of sincerity on his face.

“You must be careful, time travel has unforeseen consequences,” said Egeria, her features filled with wisdom.

“Like you?” Amos said unintentionally, making a flirtatious comment.

Egeria blushed while Sha’re rolled her eyes. She then took a quick glance over at Reva and said, “Your friend tells me that you had a dream about me before we met, is that true?” said Egeria generously holding back a grin.

Amos’s eyes widened with embarrassment. Reva must have telepathically told Egeria the truth about her presence here as well as the real reason she was in Sha’re’s body.

“Reva, stop it! Don’t tell her our business telepathically,” yelled Amos.

Egeria laughed, “she also said she wasn’t just your friend and that we were all supposed to be lovers.”

Everyone on the ship looked at Amos – even Freyr. Finally, Karlan broke the ice.

“So, Amos, where are we going now,” said Karlan softly.

“Right! Where are we going now? I was thinking that with the inclusion of Orban and Pangar in the Commonwealth, its time we make a base of our own. A “Commonwealth Homeworld” if you will. We need a planet separate from all other internal politics and dedicated solely to the formation and cultivation of the Lantean Commonwealth. With that being said, I think I have an idea of what world that should be. Reva put in these spatial coordinates,” he ordered.

Reva sat down at the conn and put in Amos’s coordinates. Everyone took a seat on the bridge of the Skidbladnir, their official number rising to six. The old asgard science vessel pulled out of orbit of Pangar and once again went into hyperspace.
