Day's pass as we travel. The mood is... in a word, grim. Our recent experiences had... cut the joy from our sails, so to say. Neither me, nor Tomas tried too hard to lift the mood.

It was a week's travel from the battlefield, to our home. The roads were well kept, and the lands clear of animals. But, on the 5th day of travel, our path was blocked by a tree. Before we stopped, another tree was toppled behind us.

"HO, THERE! OPEN UP YOUR CARRIAGE AND STEP OUT, NICE AND EASY! NO ONE NEEDS TO GET HURT!" One of our assailants yelled out.

Bandits. An uncommon occurrence on the well maintained roads, but not uncommon. The driver raised his hands slowly, and called back.

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it.

"We've no goods, nor valuables here! We carry Lord Tomas Heifort, and his companion, as well as the remains of Theodore Heifort!" He said.

"Who are you trying ta' fool, fuckwit?!" The lead bandit called, and they began to aproach with a cocky swagger. "And even if you're tellin' the truth, your little lordlings will be a fine prize." He sneered. "He'll, we might even give the lordling's 'companion' back, after a go or two!" He laughed, and the other bandits joined him.

As they moved to open the rear door, the driver asked them to stop. He got a punch as a reply. As they hacked the door open, they eventually broke it, and pulled it apart.

The lead bandit was speared on the tip of my axe as I ran him through. I said nothing, my helmet closed and my breathing steady. My anger had been burning cold for a while now, and these... things... were going to be a fantastic outlet. I was going to kill them anyways, as was proper, but the shit they just said? Now, it was personal. Now, I would make it hurt.

A foot of steel in his guts, I drove him back, and he fell with a gasp. I emerged, 10 plus feet of angry steel and scale, and spoke. "I am now going to ssssslaughter you all like vermin. TO ARMSSSSSS! KILL THEM ALL!" I roared out, hissing in rage.
