Chapter 77 — “Trauma Lesson & Moon Chains”

The massive hall trembled as Ren Nakamura stepped forward, his demon aura stretching behind him like a shadow with fangs.

  Ren (roaring):

“Every child with power… deserves to die.”

The daimyō council murmured, then nodded obediently like puppets.

Ren slammed his fist onto the table.

  Ren:

  “KILL BORUTO — WIN KONOHA!”

  “KILL BORUTO — WIN KONOHA!”

The daimyō repeated it louder and louder, drunk on fear and excitement.

  Suddenly—

  Smoke drifted through the doorway.

  A single man entered.

  Slow steps.

  No fear.

  One hand in pocket.

  Shikamaru Nara.

Daimyō 1: “HEY! WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE, KONOHA PIG!?”

  Daimyō 2: “GUARDS, THROW HIM—”

Before anyone else could speak, Ren wrapped an arm around Shikamaru’s neck like a “friendly greeting,” grinning like a demon.

  Ren:

  “HE WANTS TO JOIN US!”

“HE WANTS TO KILL BORUTOOOOOO TOO!”

Shikamaru exhaled smoke right in Ren’s face.

  Shikamaru:

  “…Naruto. Sasuke. Jump.”

The FLOOR EXPLODED as two monsters dropped from the ceiling.

His aura burned like a blue sun.

Naruto (roaring like a demon god):

  “YOU WANNA KILL MY SON!?”

  “AGHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAA—”

  “I WILL KILLLLLLL YOU AAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!”

  Tables crushed. Walls shattered.

  Daimyōs fell backward screaming.

Sasuke walked forward with one glowing Rinnegan and a sword already in hand.

  Sasuke (cold):

  “You’re dead.”

  Guards lunged.

They never touched the ground again.

Ren: “THEY’RE—THEY’RE HIGH-END PEOPLE! YOU CAN’T KILL THEM—”

  Shikamaru flicked the cigar ash.

  Shikamaru:

  “We’re not killing them.”

  Shikamaru (pointing at trembling daimyō):

  “We’re just traumatizing them.”

He smirked as a daimyō fainted.

Naruto punched a pillar so hard the entire hall tilted.

Sasuke sliced a guard in half with the flat side.

  Ren whispered: “…They’re monsters.”

  Moon Temple — Training Grounds

Boruto staggered to his feet, sweating, breath broken.

Across from him stood Higarashi ōtsutsuki — his instructor and executioner.

  Higarashi:

  “So, kid…

you still want to be stronger for Yuta?”

  Boruto clenched his fists, shaking.

  Boruto:

  “I couldn’t beat Toneri…

  But Shibai…

  I will still try.”

  “I have my dad’s will.

  I’ll die…

  but I won’t give up.”

  Higarashi’s eye twitched.

  A mad grin appeared.

  Higarashi:

“If you can even touch me…

  I’ll consider training you.”

  Boruto screamed—

A golden whirlpool burst from his back.

  Chains.

  Hundreds.

  Then thousands.

  Higarashi’s brows shot up.

  Higarashi:

  “1,000 adamantine chains…

Boruto Uzumaki… can you control that?”

The chains lashed wildly, destroying the stone around him.

  Boruto (gritting teeth):

  “I can’t!!

  But trust me—”

  Boruto roared:

  “I’ll get so strong…

  that I’ll kill you myself!”

  Higarashi froze.

  Then laughed.

  Higarashi:

  “I like you.”

He stepped closer, eye to eye, forehead touching Boruto’s.

  Higarashi (whisper):

  “I may kill you.

  Wanna fight me anyway?”

  Boruto’s grin grew feral.

  Boruto:

  “Fight…

  till death.”

  Moon Kitchen — Same Time

Aira peeked outside with a spoon still in her mouth.

  Aira:

  “Mom… is Dad okay?”

  Kimiko sighed, stirring soup.

  Kimiko:

“Well, your father likes kids who want to kill him.”

  Aira: “Makes sense.”

Aira looked again toward the training area.

  Aira:

“I wanna give Boruto back in one piece…

with his arms and legs intact.”

  Kimiko (waving):

  “It’s fine. I’ll heal him.”

  Toneri walked by with tea.

  Toneri:

  “They’re fighting like dogs again.”

Aira froze, staring through the window.

Boruto’s golden chains thrashed at Higarashi like meteors.

  Higarashi countered with—

  A thousand hands.

  Aira:

  “…Yep.

  Dad’s having fun.”
