Chapter 39 – “The Throne of Ashes”

Scene: Majin’s Kingdom – Throne Hall – Night

The torchlight flickers across the jagged black stone of the throne room. Shadows dance over the cracked mirror on the far wall, warped and bleeding light like an open wound.

Majin sits still atop his twisted obsidian throne, the X-shaped scar across his chest glowing faintly—a living reminder of the day Kashin defied him.

He mutters to himself, eyes locked on his own reflection:

  Majin (softly):

“They brand me a tyrant... but Kashin chose war over vision. I offered peace—my peace.”

He runs his fingers over the scar. The chains above him rattle—dissenters hung from them like broken ornaments, their silence louder than any roar.

Suddenly, footsteps echo down the corridor. The doors creak open. Two guards drag Himawari, bruised but conscious, into the hall.

  Majin:

“Still fighting? Still hoping your brother will save you?”

  (He leans forward, eyes glowing)

“Not this time. No Sylus. No Kashin. Just me.”

Himawari lifts her head. Her lips twitch—not in fear, but defiance.

The room shimmers with divine energy. Aria stands proud at the center, her radiant armor catching the celestial light. Majin walks beside her, his expression tense.

  Majin:

“If we partner with the upper families, we gain power. Wealth. Influence. We can reshape the world.”

  Aria (firmly):

“We reshape nothing by selling the poor to feed the rich.”

  Majin:

“One percent suffering to save the ninety-nine. That’s efficiency.”

  Aria (coldly):

  “It’s cruelty disguised as math.”

Majin stares at her. For a moment, there's silence… then he turns and walks away.

  Majin (muttering):

  “Your mercy will destroy everything.”

The sky churns with smoke. Dozens of refugees run toward the new arrivals—Yuta, Boruto, Sarada, Sumire, Shikadai, Metal Lee, and Inojin. They look around—the ground littered with scorched banners, broken chains, and silent screams.

A child grabs Boruto’s hand, trembling:

  Child:

  “Please… save my sister…”

Suddenly, a guard from the wall yells:

  Guard:

“HEY! YOU THERE! SLAVE! GET BACK—”

  Boruto (furious):

  “Not anymore.”

He slams the guard back with a Rasengan as Inojin draws a dragon with a single stroke, the ink bursting to life and soaring above the walls, roaring as the kingdom trembles.

Himawari lies chained to the wall. Her vision blurs.

  Then—faint voices.

  Yuta:

  “Himawari!”

  Boruto:

  “We’re here!”

  Sarada:

  “Hold on!”

Her lips curve into a small smile as her eyes water.

  Himawari (weakly):

  “...I knew you'd come.”
