Chapter 11 – “A Love That Shouldn’t Have Been

Rain taps against the windowpane. Kakashi sits behind the desk, the Sixth Hokage once more for this council. Naruto, Sasuke, and Shikamaru stand nearby. Across from them sits Toneri ōtsutsuki, bound by chakra restraints but eerily calm.

  Toneri (gazing out the window):

“Before you judge my actions… let me tell you a love story. One of a God-Killer who fell in love with the strongest queen the ōtsutsuki ever knew—Sylus and Aria.”

  Kakashi (arms crossed):

  “A love story, huh?”

  Sasuke (eye narrowing):

“This better not be a distraction.”

  Naruto (softly):

  “...Aria. That name again.”

  Shikamaru (sighs, sits down):

“Troublesome or not, let’s hear it.”

A realm beyond mortal comprehension. A land of swirling white voids and floating palaces—home to the origin of divine bloodlines.

Aria floats above the clouds, adorned in black-silver ōtsutsuki robes, her horned silhouette casting light across the sky.

  Aria (to herself):

“They said I must kill him… Sylus, the one born to destroy Shibai. But why would a god killer seek a god’s death if he wasn’t in control?”

Sylus stands motionless, shirtless, eyes glowing faintly blue. Long white hair falls to his back, energy pulsing with every breath. He says nothing as Aria lands silently before him.

Sylus (lowly, staring at the stars):

“I was created to kill Shibai. That’s all. That is my reason for existing.”

  Aria (walking closer):

“But if you’re not the one choosing it… is that purpose even yours?”

Sylus remains silent. His hand clenches subtly, but he gives no answer.

  Toneri (coldly, watching Aria):

“Stay away from him, Princess. He is cursed. A god made to end gods.”

  Kashin (emerging from shadows):

  “Don’t come again.”

  Aria (softly, unwavering):

“He’s not a curse. He needs love. He was granted monstrous chakra and treated like a weapon… but he’s still a soul.”

Kashin studies her for a moment before turning away.

  Kashin:

“If he doesn’t accept your presence… leave. Don’t break yourself trying.”

  Aria (smiling faintly):

  “Then let me try.”

Moonlight paints the castle walls. Aria appears each night—sometimes with food, sometimes with silence, sometimes only to sit nearby.

  •   Night One:

She places food before Sylus. He doesn’t look at it. Hours pass. When she leaves, the plate is untouched.

  •

  •   Night Fiftieth:

She hums a song as she sits by the wall. His eyes flicker for half a second—but return to the stars.

  •

  •   Night One Hundred:

      She asks quietly:

“Do you ever wonder what your life would’ve been… if you weren’t made to kill?”

Sylus clenches his fist but says nothing. She smiles anyway.

  •

  •   Year Two:

Storms rage outside. Aria arrives drenched, robe clinging to her. For the first time, Sylus speaks without being prompted.

      Sylus: “You’ll break yourself, Princess.”

Aria (smiling through her soaked hair): “Then let me break.”

  •

  •   Year Three:

One night, she finds the plate gone. He ate. She doesn’t comment. She just smiles as if it were the world’s greatest victory.

Slowly, his silence becomes less cold. His gaze lingers on her when she turns away. He never tells her to leave.

  Toneri (arms folded):

“Why do you keep sneaking glances at him? He’s not a prince. He’s a monster made to kill a god.”

  Aria:

  “He needs guidance.”

  Toneri:

“You may witness his death, Princess.”

  Aria (smirks):

  “Man, don’t foreshadow my life.”

  Toneri (after a pause):

  “I hope I don’t.”

  Kashin (sitting across from Sylus):

“You gonna keep ignoring her forever?”

Sylus (staring into the flame of a candle):

“I’m a monster, Kashin. Like you. If I let myself feel… love… I’ll hesitate. I’ll falter when facing Shibai. I know it.”

  Kashin (clenching fists):

“Just try, man. I’m here for you. I’ll die before I let you fall alone.”

  Sylus (quietly):

“...I hope you never have to.”

For the first time, his breath escapes like a man who has held it for centuries.

Toneri sits silently. The rain continues. Even Sasuke has nothing to say.

  Toneri (low voice):

“That… is where it began. The fated love story that doomed us all. Because love made a god-killer hesitate… and Shibai lived.”

The room falls into silence. Naruto’s hand trembles at the mention of Shibai’s survival.

?? “What if love was the one weakness a god-killer couldn’t escape? Chapter 12 reveals the night the ōtsutsuki Realm changed forever.”
