Angralia was built in an octagonal shape to be able to defend from enemies in all cardinal directions, it was built with the walls being on the lowest point around the city, and everything from there gradually going uphill toward the centre where the castle and keep was situated. This provided a strategic way to constantly have archers ready to shoot from the roof tops of the buildings and houses without hitting each other, meaning it made it very hard to take in case of a siege. It was built this way back when there were still seven original kings and their kingdoms instead of just the two. Angralia was a major stand point in the previous demon war, the humans keeping hordes of demons at bay by sheer strategic genius and tenacity. As I roamed the streets hearing the tour guide drone on about the history of the city, trying to do a job worth the 8 silver I paid for the full tour, I always kept my malice detection on. Making sure that I would not get blind sighted. The downside of my magic sight and all its subdivisions was that it tired you out tremendously to keep it going. When we reached an inner wall leading to the nobility quarter the guide handed over a few coins to the guard and we were let through. Though it was called the nobility quarter the more accurate description would be the nobility ring the city was built with tree rings going outwards from the castle and keep being on the first and highest ring, The nobility being in the second ring, And the merchants and other citizens being in the outer ring. In the nobility quarter the manors were spread out quite well being as there were only eight manors in it one for every direction towards the walls. The tour lasted another hour as the guide continued walking and explaining each of the noble families and their purpose. Being uninterested in politics and the goings on of entitled people I stopped paying attention, letting adviser rather save the information for if it should ever become necessary. As we were walking through the wide gravel roads past the manors, I noticed that most of the estates looked well maintained except for one, seemingly slightly derelict. when I asked about it the guide merely said, “this noble hasn’t lived there for many years, and hasn’t paid for the upkeep of it.” After the tour we went back through the inner gate and we separated. I went back to my room at the guild. It was already a bit dark at night, on my way through a dark alley I heard someone sneaking up on me, activating my mana sight’s sense, already tired I decided to just confront the three of them. “You do know sneaking in the dark really doesn’t suite three girls, now does it?” immediately after I said that the attackers all three of whom seemed to be female and well-proportioned jumped out of the shadows, black knives darting to silence me. Using manna to reinforce my body and mind I swiftly dodged their assault grabbing wrist after wrist manoeuvring them away and breaking their elbows. Their painful shrieks pierced the night as I brought them to their knees. Not feeling in the mood for death I simply knocked them out, leaving them on the floor. I quickly travelled faster to the guild, opting for the better route of the roof tops as I leaped from top to top, reaching the guild quite fast. I went in, there was a large ruckus going on, seeming tonight was a very busy night for the inbuilt pub, I quietly slinked back to my room, locked the door, and went to sleep. When my waking spell activated to alert me of predawn, I sat upright. “Hey adviser, pull up that status screen of mine, let’s see whether I have improved my mental elasticity yet.” I ordered. The stat screen showing in front of me was filled with a variety of numbers and graphs, my basic stats like manna control amount, chi control and amount, and everything else from vitality to max strength was displayed. My current stats was a lot better than my initial check having been training each one separately to increase efficacy of it. My current stat to train was the ability to handle things on my own and way faster than the rest, which is why I was using my magic sight without adviser to process the extra information. The training had paid of I could now notice and infer information at way higher speeds. Although I felt the progress was not fast enough to my satisfaction. “Guess I still have to keep this up a bit more.” I sighed exasperatedly. “Not really, I don’t really see why you intend on doing this when you have me to handle all the really hard thinking.” Adviser said seeming a bit confused. “It’s like that time when you were inventing new spells and decided to still try to do all the calculations on your own, I don’t get it.” “It’s quite simple having you is a boon, but what happens if I cannot use you or something happens, I need to be as good without you as I am with you.” I replied trying to explain. “but that’s my point, I’m bound to your DNA, there isn’t anything that can remove me from your mind.” Adviser said sounding a bit exasperated “I like doing things on my own.” I replied, feeling still a bit tired from the constant vigilance I kept up yesterday. I stood up and got dressed again. After using magic for a quick wash and shave. the quest board was flocked again when I came downstairs. I decided to eat first again before checking the available quests. I noticed that the dual request had still not been taken yet, So I decided that was what I was gonna do today. As I placed the quest page down, the receptionist looked at me askance seeming to be trying to measure me from a glance, but didn’t say a word and simply stamped the quest as in progress.
