Chapter4:The adviser.

  Chapter4

  The adviser.

The adviser.I was nine years old now, if I had still been alive in my old life, I would now be twenty-eight. My father and I now only trained twice a week, because after he had told mother that I think I can use magic she insisted on teaching me.

So, after she tested me for mana and found that I had mana, she started instructing me, I already knew everything she told me and advanced quickly, but I decided to also take it slow and make it seem like she was teaching me something new.

I did not want to hurt her feelings, but I was still able to master most of the things she talked about that very day in front of her, she just attributed it to me being a prodigy and her being a good teacher. None of my brothers could use magic, so she did not have any references except herself.

I was out in the field playing with a spell. I created the antigravity spell trying to see how much weight and aerodynamics affected speed of movement. It was technically not antigravity, I just shifted the area that gravity pulled from and how strong the gravity was there, so I was able to make things fly in every direction. Then I thought about trying to fly myself.

“That could be cool, but I would rather you not.” Said a voice that sounded like it was right next to me. I jolted upright and looked around. the voice had sounded almost exactly like the one who had helped me when I had died.

“Who’s there?” I asked not seeing anyone, ‘it’s me dumb-dumb, in your head not outside, and yes I am that guy.’ He answered. “Wait, I thought you were only in between the worlds. Why are you talking to me.’ I thought. ‘Well, you did choose the adviser skill, didn’t you? that is me too, I am kind of like your own personal computer and search engine if you will. I know everything about this worlds history and I can help you with any question you have, meaning you will be able to react faster. I can do all the math for you so, bonus Hehe.’

“You’re basically just a glorified calculator,” Lucien commented.

“No, uhgh jeez dude, how about you say something like “status” or “menu. I would have thought most gamers do that first thing.”

  “Okay then, status.”

As the words left my mouth, I saw what looked like an impressive screen appear before me. It displayed all my skills I had chosen as well as a bunch more including superior martial arts, ultimate mana regeneration, hyper recovery, ultimate stamina, chi controller and chi to mana conversion. There was also bestowed the blessed hero attribute, and fast learner.

“Superior martial arts, I don’t think I was a master yet, in my old life I was only on fourth dan.” “Well, it is superior to the martial arts here.”

“Wait, why did you only come now? I could have used you much sooner.”

“Sorry, had to wait until you had gained enough mental stability in your body. Putting a full grown persons memories in a baby is not easy, most of you memories were stored In another dimension, so you could still access them and it was slowly uploaded to your real brain, and thanks to your fast learner skill, you have been able to take it all in now.” “I don’t think I learned that fast.”

“Well think of your brain as a computer even with your fast learner skill it was still taking a lot of information sort of like a fast connection trying to download something huge. if you did not have your fast learner skill, you would have had to wait till you were nineteen to have it all downloaded.”

“Well now that my brain is not as occupied, does that mean I can now actually learn things faster?” “Yes, and with me here its gonna make things easier.”

“Ok well, then first things first, explain what the hell magic really is.” “Oof, starting with the hard ones already, oh well then, it all started at a point in time before there was life on this planet. You see, this is an entirely different timeline, this planet had once accidentally been pulled into a wandering stars orbit, but it was flung at the speed of light through a magnetar, nasty little bugger.”

“But it survived, sure most of it was burned up, but the speed at which it had been going, combined with is size made it survive. The crazy thing is, the planet was then full of rampant energy and it slowed down when it was being pulled into a black hole. Somehow just before it went over the event horizon the blackhole imploded and became a nebula. That thing then became the star you revolve around; the planet had travelled a bit before the sun put it in its orbit.”

“It was in the green zone and with so much celestial dust and pure energy it created water, oxygen, and all other necessary requirements to create life. Thing is that pure rampant energy was still there and as life started growing it climbed into it, that is what you now call mana.”

I sat a while, digesting this, in my previous life I had loved science, so I sought after it, as such, I was able to understand most of this. But the explanation left me with a lot of questions.

“Okay, but that doesn’t explain that much.” “Well, by using that energy and channelling it, you can morph and alter the world in ways you see fit, you probably already realized that you don’t need an incantation to use magic.”

“Well, I still say it aloud in my head.” “You understood basic molecular physics, so think of it this way, all you need to really do, is think of how certain elements atomic values are constructed, you memorized the periodic table remember.”

“I see, so I take the ‘mana’ and then focus that into the preferred element and then use it to convert more into kinetic energy?” It seemed so simple that I almost laughed.

“But wait, how can I or any one influence that energy, that is pure paradoxical.” “Jeez I aint gonna tell you everything, but fine. The life that grew here was infused with it remember? That seeped into their brains too and they and you have grown little parts in there to use it.”

“I guess that makes sense, does that mean I can create any element I can think of?”

“Yes, and you can also create alloys and other mixtures, kind of like your create water spell, and with me handling some of the brain power you do multiple spells at once.”

“That’s awesome, now I can actually get somewhere.” “Well then let us start your training, oh and by the way you don’t have to eat each time to regain mana, you have the chi to mana conversion skill. You know how to absorb chi, then make it mana, even though your mana has a growing limit the amount of chi you can gather is unlimited.”

That meant I technically had unlimited mana, talk about OP.”
