Chapter 15 I love seeing you so naive and innocent

  Luxury goods are so fragile.

Grace's gaze darkened as she looked at the scattered "remains" of the bracelet on the ground.

Candy was also taken aback, but then let out a cold laugh, looking at Grace with disdain. "Your cheap stuff is of such poor quality. I just accidentally bumped into it, and it broke like this?"

Grace didn't respond. Instead, she squatted down to pick up the broken bracelet. Seeing this, Scarlett quickly squatted down to help her.

Picking up a piece, Scarlett subconsciously took another look and happened to see the logo on the bracelet.

The logo, though small, was a very clear and neat stamped mark—Cartier!

"Look carefully, this is Cartier, not some cheap knock-off!" Scarlett stood up, her pretty face filled with anger as she looked at Candy.

Her own jewelry was all from Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels; she only wore the highest luxury brands, so the stamp on the bracelet was enough to tell Grace's bracelet was genuine.

Upon hearing this, Candy wasn't intimidated at all; instead, she laughed even louder, "How could that be? Her? Wearing Cartier? Probably some high-quality fake from an online store!"

"Exactly, would she dare to even step foot inside a Cartier store?"

"A single Cartier bracelet could buy her life. She doesn't deserve it!"

Sofia and Anne chimed in with their sarcastic remarks, their words reflecting their sharp tongues and making them appear even more malicious.

However, this level of sarcasm couldn't harm Grace in the slightest. After all, the truth cannot be hidden, and money is her foundation.

Too lazy to waste words with such people, she immediately pulled out her phone and dialed the police.

"Hello, I need to call the police. Someone maliciously damaged my personal property."

"The value is close to one hundred Dollars."

"Lily's Stir-Fry, City Snack Street, south of Aethelburg University of Science and Technology."

She was composed and calm. The words "close to one hundred Dollars" came out of her mouth without a ripple, as if she didn't care about the hundred Dollars at all.

The more composed she was, the more convinced Candy became that she was lying.

Who wouldn't be worried at all if something worth nearly one hundred Dollars was damaged?

She curled her lip and let out a disdainful snort: "Grace, stop bluffing. Others may not know you, but we've been your roommate for over a year, do you think we don't know you?"

Sofia: "Exactly! All your valuables were gifts from Eric. Now that you've broken up, you're penniless again, aren't you?"

If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

Anne: "Before dating Eric, you were so stingy with food in the cafeteria, and you'd take on dorm cleaning jobs in LetsChat groups to earn money for living expenses. Now you dare to shamelessly boast about wearing..." "The bracelet is worth nearly a hundred Dollars? Aren't you afraid of biting off more than you can chew?"

"I'm telling you guys, don't go too far."

At this point, someone couldn't stand it anymore and stood up to speak for Grace: "Regardless of how much the bracelet Grace is wearing is worth, Candy broke it, so she has to pay for it."

"That's right, breaking someone else's things and not only doesn't she apologize, but she's also making sarcastic remarks about her. Does she think she's easy to bully?"

The girls who spoke up were the ones who had greeted Grace earlier. Grace gave them grateful looks.

People at other tables also started to speak up, and some even took out their phones to record the incident and post it on the school forum to expose this bullying behavior.

Realizing she had become the target of everyone's criticism in her moment of smugness, Candy quickly declared righteously, "Who said I wouldn't pay? I'll pay for what I broke, of course! I only argued with her because she said the bracelet cost nearly a hundred Dollars!"

"A fake designer bracelet is worth at most five cents. I'll pay you right now!"

As she spoke, Candy took out her phone to transfer money to Grace.

  "Who called the police here?"

Less than ten minutes later, nearby police officers arrived quickly. Since this was a university, the nearest police station was at the other end of the food street.

Seeing the police arrive, Candy's eyes lit up again. She pointed at Grace and shouted, "Officer, she made a false report!"

The two officers looked at Grace. One of them asked sternly, "You made the report?"

Grace nodded slightly and said, "She broke my bracelet."

As she spoke, Grace opened her palm, showing the police the bracelet, which was broken into several pieces. Scarlett quickly added the pieces she had picked up.

The two officers exchanged a glance, their expressions hesitant.

The call said it was a dispute involving nearly a hundred Dollars. Could it be that this bracelet was worth nearly a hundred Dollars?

One of the officers looked at Grace and said, "Then please show me the purchase receipt, or any evidence that directly or indirectly proves the bracelet's value. We only intervene in mediation for personal property disputes exceeding two cents."

Candy couldn't help but gloat upon hearing the police's words. What purchase receipt could a counterfeit bracelet possibly have? She was just waiting to be embarrassed and taught a lesson by the police!

However, her smugness lasted only three seconds before Candy's eyes widened in shock.

Because they were so close, Candy could clearly see when Grace found the payment record.

Moreover, the payment wasn't for nearly a hundred Dollars, but over two hundred Dollars, and the merchant was clearly marked as "Cartier Aethelburg MixC Store."

  How could this be?

How could Grace spend over two hundred Dollars at Cartier in one go?

The two policemen were also stunned. This young girl had actually spent over two hundred Dollars in one store?

Only Scarlett excitedly grabbed Grace's hand and smiled reassuring. She knew the bracelet was real; she couldn't be mistaken!

  "Impossible, absolutely impossible!"

Candy finally showed a panicked expression. She looked at Grace incredulously and shook her head. "This record must be faked. How could you possibly have over two hundred Dollars?"

Grace looked at Candy with a mocking expression. "I love seeing you so naive."

The police officer, regaining his composure, said, "We'll investigate whether it's true or false. Since the damaged items are worth over twenty Dollars, it falls under the category of significant property damage. You all have to come with us."

Grace nodded slightly. Scarlett smiled and whispered, "I'll go with you. I've never been to a police station before."

At another table... Seeing this, some girls stood up and said to the police and Grace, "Officer, we all witnessed the whole thing. If needed, we're willing to testify for Grace!"

  "Yes, we're all witnesses!"

  "I recorded a video."

The police raised their hand to signal everyone to be quiet: "We'll contact you if needed. Those who recorded the video, please don't spread it yet, to avoid negatively impacting your school. We will handle this matter properly."

After saying that, they called Grace and Candy to go back to the police station with them. Scarlett followed excitedly, but Sofia and Anne exchanged a glance, their legs feeling like lead, and neither dared to move. Neither of them accompanied Candy.
