Chris drove. Now most of their other friends lived away, so they were getting their stuff from their houses. Devan had already got his things and his wife. Now, inside Devan’s huge camper van, they were going to Melissa’s house.
Melissa was currently having her hair twisted into a long braided half-up hairstyle, by Devan’s wife Aisha, she was average height, bi-racial, with stunning dyed brown hair.
“Your hair is very nice Melissa.”
Melissa smiles while looking down.
“Thanks Aisha.”
“Anyway so you took my husband out of my room and put us into this bull?”
Melissa freezes up.
“Uhh…..”
Aisha smiles.
“Kidding!!”
Melissa takes a deep breath of relief.
Devan scoofs.
“Women right.”
Melissa rolls her eyes.
“That guys your husband you deserve better.”
Aisha giggles.
Devan throws a pen at Melissa.
“Aisha if you help me we can take Devan.” Says Melissa.
Aisha strokes her chin.
“Very well I gotta pay him back for not washing the dishes.”
Melissa and Aisha bomb rush Devan, at first Devan is able to defend but, Melissa uses her leg to trip him, and Aisha sits on his chest.
Aisha puts her foot in his face.
“Perhaps you’ll wash the dishes next time.”
Devan’s face scrunches.
“Eww get that stinky ass foot off my face.”
Aisha gasp.
“Excuse me bitch.”
Aisha starts hitting him.
Devan shields his face.
“Ahh!!! Melissa help!!”
Melissa walks away…
Chris finally pulls into the driveway of Melissa’s yard.

“Alright Melissa get what you need.”
Melissa steps out, Devan and Aisha following close behind, and in Melissa’s driveway something was burning.
Melissa stops.
“Is that…”
You see, Devan and the others houses were a little deeper into the big city so they mostly avoided collateral damage, while Melissa’s house itself was fine, their was a burning…
Melissa walked closer, her footsteps becoming heavy.
Devan covered her eyes.
“Wait Mel—”
Melissa pulled his hand away.
“No if I go down this path… I need to see things like this and accept sometimes…”
Melissa keeps walking, and walking…
She finally arrives and stares down at the flames, in it was a body, the face was melting off it ran like wax off a candle, the teeth were cracked and black, along with the skeleton, the rest of the body was almost……. Unrecognizable.
Melissa backed up and stopped herself from throwing up, however she still dropped to her knees and began to shake and sob.
Devan walked close behind, and patted her back.
She shook her head and stood up.
“Let’s…. Let’s go….”
As she walked past the flames.
She held her head down, yet she kept going.
“We have more to do…”
Melissa walks into her house, she walked around the bottom floor and collected her and her husbands valuables, then went to the second floor, once she checked the time 30 minutes elapsed, as she grabbed the last thing it was a photo, on the left was Devan and on the right was Chris, but in the middle was…. She slammed the pic down and threw it in the bag.
She looked down.
“Ready!!” in a more dull voice then normal.
Devan called back.
“Alright!”
Melissa came down the stairs, Aisha and Devan waited by the door?
Devan scratched his head.
“Nothing heavy?”
Melissa shook her head.
“None at all.”
Aisha nodded, and they all walked out the door, the body now reduced to ash, Melissa looked at it and walked past back to the camper van, she enters it, and puts the 4 suit cases down.
Chris stretched, “Alright Captain Melissa, Aerianna’s house next?”
“Yeah she’s 3 hours away in Zeltic, Miley lives in the next state after that Fort Wonderland, and Julian in the Saint Polly.”
Devan sighs.
“We got to leave our wonderful state Kumpus, or more accurately our wonderful city Abagail to go to those rubbish-ass states, man what the hell…”
Neveil shrugs, “I personally think Saint Polly is rather nice, it’s never too hot or too cold it’s always the perfect temperature.”
Devan and Neveil go back and forth.
Melissa stretches, “I need to go talk to my professor, tell him I’m leaving.”
Everyone nods.
As Melissa’s phone rings.
She picks up, “Hello there took you long enough.”
“Sorry the ride took a while.”
Melissa tilts her head.
“Oh by the way where did you go to put out the fire?”
“oh baby they had me cross continent to Verdanthir, reclaiming our routes you know…”
“Ain’t no cell service in the motherlands!?”
“Uhh yeah…”
“Well my phone sure couldn’t tell!!”
Melissa husband sighs.
“You know that I’m busy so I couldn't answer your calls..”
“Yeah I get that but not my text either?”
“Alright my bad…”
“Thank you… Sorry for yelling anyway let me fill you in Mac..”
***
Mac takes a deep breath….
“ I see… well I travel around the world anyway so it doesn’t matter much.”
Right as Chris pulls into the airport.
As they do, a man walks out, he has a mid-tapper, very muscular, and very tall, 6’8 from the looks of it.
Devan's eyes widen
“Man damn your husband that big!?”
Melissa giggles.
As soon as the camper van stops Melissa jumps out and runs to Mac, he picks her up.
“Woah, weren’t you just complaining,”
“I said sorry….”
Mac smiles.
They get back into camper and Mac drops Melissa.
“Yo Mac I ain’t seen your ass in person, in about shit, 2 years?” Says Devan.
“I barely be home man, but I’m sure Melissa kept you company.”
“Man she won’t leave me alone.”
Melissa rolls her eyes, “stop talking about me!!”
Mac laughs.
Neveil chuckles.
“You must’ve been in the sun a lot man.”
Mac snaps his head over to him.
“I know you ain’t talking?! I’m full blooded, your not yet look at you?”
Neveil lowers his head.
Everyone laughs.
Mac looks over to Chris.
“My man Chris what’s sup, still scaring the women?”
Chris smacks his teeth.
Mac chuckles, “Man I’m just playing.”
Mac looks over, “Aisha right, I don’t think we’ve talked.”
Aisha smiles.
“No we haven’t but you seem nice, Melissa is lucky to have you.”
Mac nods.
“Same to Devan.”
Everyone continues to chat as Chris speeds off to their next destination.
