The decapitated head screams in pain really loudly. This is the loudest this specific demon has ever screamed since Mari and the others first encountered it. But unlike most of its other screams, this one doesn’t hurt anyone’s ears.
The decapitated head is slowly disintegrating; it cannot withstand the holy power of the Sword of Purification.
“KKRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGHHHH!!!”
The decapitated head continues to scream in pain, and after only a few seconds, it completely disintegrates.

Mari turns around to look at its headless body on the ground behind her. She sees that its headless body has also completely disintegrated from the ground.
*sigh*
She lets out a sigh of relief and looks towards Eissen.
“Ei-chan! The demon’s done for!” said Mari as she gave a thumbs up and a smile to him.
“Okay, Mari-chan! Thank you!!” said Eissen.
Raven, Robert, and Raiya were shocked to see that Mari had singlehandedly taken down that ferocious demon.
“I know I sound like a broken record, but your new girl is insane, Leader!” said Raven.
Eissen smiles proudly at all of them.
“Let’s go and take Diva-chan!”
Everyone hurries and runs towards Diva. They all crouch down, surrounding her in the center.
“Diva-chan?” said Robert.
“. . .”
Robert touches Diva’s left cheek and taps it gently a few times to wake her up.
“Diva-chan?”
Eissen stands up and turns to Mari.
“Mari-chan! She’s still not waking up!”
Mari walks towards the rest of them.
“She’s probably tired and exhausted! Just let her rest, Ei-chan! I don’t feel that thing’s presence anywhere anymore!”
“I-Is that all?? Phew! Thank God!”

But then all of a sudden, all of them felt the disturbing presence of that fallen angel re-emerge.
*ZRRRRUUUUUTTTTTT*
A black sludge suddenly appears above Diva, and it slowly takes the same shape as the earlier fallen angel, the one that Mari had just dealt with.
*FLAP*
It grows its pair of giant pitch-black wings on its back, and after only a few seconds, it has already finished taking its earlier form that looked like Diva.
“GET AWAY FROM THEREEEEEE!!!”
Mari immediately shouts in panic.
*BWOOOOSSHHH*
She also immediately activates her Vein armor and lunges forward to the fallen angel.
*ZRAAASSSHHHH*
“TCH!!”
Mari grabs the fallen angel by its neck, but the fallen angel has already stabbed Raiya and Robert in their chests with each of its pitch-black wings.
“URGGHH!!”
“GAARRGGHH!!”
Both Raiya and Robert groan in pain.
“LET GO!!”

Mari punches the fallen angel from below and uppercuts its chin, sending it flying 20 meters towards the sky.

But because of her punch, the fallen angel’s wings were violently and forcefully pulled out of Robert’s and Raiya’s chests, and it pains them greatly.

They both fell to their backs on the ground.

Mari immediately jumps up high into the air, chasing after the fallen angel.

Eissen tore off both Diva’s and Raiya’s bodysuits’ sleeves and used them to close the wounds on Raiya and Robert’s chests.
The fallen angel recovers in the air, but Mari reaches it quickly. She is already swinging her giant scythe towards its torso.
“KRAAAAAAAAAAARRRGGGHHH!!!”
The fallen angel quickly summons its long katana in its right hand. It holds it with both of its hands and swings down at Mari’s scythe.

Mari breaks the fallen angel’s long katana with her giant scythe. She immediately swings back her scythe once more towards its torso from the other direction this time.

The fallen angel flies upwards and backwards to avoid the swing, but its torso is grazed by the giant scythe.
“HOW DID YOU COME BACK?!”
“AND WHY SHOULD I ANSWER YOU, ANNOYING FOLLOWER OF GOD?!”
The fallen angel sees that Mari is summoning the Sword of Purification in her other hand.
“BECAUSE I AM GOING TO TORTURE YOU WITH THIS SWORD OTHERWISE!!”
“GET THAT AWAY FROM MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!”
*STABS*
Mari reaches the maximum height of her jump and reaches the fallen angel even after it has flown a bit upwards. She thrusts the Sword of Purification into its chest.
“KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!”
The fallen angel starts disintegrating, starting from its torso.

The fallen angel is still screaming in pain even though its entire torso has disappeared.
“I-INSIDE MEEE!!! AAAAAAAAAAARRRGGGGHHH!!!”
Mari quickly unsummons the Sword of Purification from her hand. The fallen angel’s torso slowly reformed back to normal.
*ZRAAAAAASSSHHH*
But Mari swings down her giant scythe vertically across the fallen angel’s body, yet she does not cut it at all.
*!!!*
“It’s her! So her spirit was trapped inside that thing, after all!”
At her giant scythe’s blade, Diva’s spirit was hanging on to it. She is not moving, and her eyes are closed.
“H-HEY! Y-YOU!! WAKE UP!!”
Mari starts descending towards the ground. The momentum of her jump has ended.
“(This is so awkward! How do I address his ex again?)”
“D-DIVA-SAN!! PLEASE WAKE UP!!”

Diva did not answer.
*THUMP*
Mari lands on the ground, and she hurriedly runs towards Diva’s unconscious body, where Eissen and the others are. She sees that his wounded friends are lying on the ground side by side, along with Martina, with their chest wounds already bound by DIY bandages.
“Mari-chan?!”

“D-DIVA-CHAN?! What is she doing on your scythe?”
“I don’t really understand how or when, but that demon took hostage of your ex!”
Mari crouches down and moves her scythe towards Diva’s body to let her spirit touch it.
*ZRRRRUUTT*
And her spirit has now reconnected with her physical body.
“DIVA-CHAN!! WAKE UP!!”
Eissen shouts in Diva’s ears, but she still doesn’t budge at all.
“That won’t do you little children!!”

All of a sudden, the fallen angel appears right next to Mari.
*FLAP*
“EI-CHAN!!”

The fallen angel hits Eissen with its wing, but Mari moves to his back, blocking the wing with her body.

Mari grabs the fallen angel on its face.
“WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE??”
“WE DEMONS DO NOT MOVE ACCORDING TO OUR OWN WILL!! I AM JUST FOLLOWING HER DESIRES AFTER ALL!!”
“(What? Is that it? So, this is Ei-chan’s ex’s desires? I don’t understand.)”
*BWOOOOOOSSHH*
Mari jumps away with the fallen angel in her grip.
*GRAAAHHHKK*
She smashes the fallen angel to the ground and plants it quite deeply into it. She summons the Sword of Purification again in her free hand.
*STABS*
“KRAAAAAAAAAAAARRRGGHHHH!!!”
Mari stabs the fallen angel on its forehead, and it screams in pain once again.
“I’M GOING TO KEEP DOING THIS OVER AND OVER AGAIN UNLESS YOU GET LOST FROM HERE!!!”
“KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRGGGHHHH!!!”
Its head starts disintegrating quickly.
“(WHAT SHOULD I DO?? NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I DO THIS, IT DOESN’T MATTER IN THE END!! THIS THING CAN JUST COME BACK AFTERWARDS AS IF NOTHING HAPPENED!! THINK!!)”
In the midst of Mari’s worry and panicking state, a shining and glowing dove suddenly appears on her left shoulder. The glowing dove came out flying from her own chest. The glowing dove leans closer towards Mari’s left ear.
*!*
No audible voice actually came out of the dove’s beak, but Mari did hear the dove saying something. It’s like it speaks directly to her heart.
“I see. Thank you, God!!”
Mari unsummons the Sword of Purification from her hand and turns her head around towards Eissen.
“EI-CHAN!!”
“Yes, Mari-chan?”
“USE THE SWORD OF PURIFICATION ON DIVA-CHAN!! DIVE INTO HER HEART EI-CHAN!!”
“U-UNDERSTOOD!!”
Eissen did not ask any further questions. He summons the Sword of Purification with no hesitation or second thought.
*STABS*
And he stabs the Sword into Diva’s chest.
One.
“Leader?? What are you doing?” said Raven, looking confused.
“E-Eissen-sama? Why did you stab Diva-chan?” said Robert.
“Guys! Don’t worry! This Sword cannot harm anyone! I promise you!”
“But Eissen-sama! Your new girl has been using that to constantly hurt that demonic thingy! I find that hard to believe!” adds Raiya.
“Yeah, but that’s because it was a demon! Humans do not get hurt from this Sword! I’ve seen her use this every day after all! I have even used it myself a few times.” explains Eissen.
*FLAP*
*BAAAMM*
The fallen angel has recovered, and its head reformed back to normal. It flaps its wings against the ground, and it punches Mari on her stomach. But Mari caught its punch with her right hand.
“NOPE!! YOU ARE NOT GOING TO INTERFERE WITH WHAT EI-CHAN IS DOING!!”
Two.
“KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRGGGGHHHH!!! LET GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!”
“NO!!”
*ZRAAASSSSHH*
Mari summons her giant scythe in her left hand and cuts the fallen angel’s left hand.
“KRAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRGGGHHH!!”
It screams in pain once more.
“Man, your screams are becoming background noise to me for how often I've heard them since the first time! Pipe down already, will you? It’s not that exciting anymore seeing a demon in pain. . .”
“KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGHHHH!!!!”
The fallen angel screams right into Mari’s face.
“HOW DARE YOU MOCK ME, YOU LITTLE GIRL?!”
*HOOOOOAAAAAMMMMM*
Mari yawns and opens her mouth widely, showing her boredom towards the fallen angel’s insult.
“Sorry, man! You can’t offend me with your empty words, given how easily I handle you!”
“CURSE YOU, FOLLOWER OF GOOOOOODDDDDD!!!”
Three.
The three-second countdown is over, and the Sword of Purification shines brightly, and a giant dome of light emerges and swallows both Diva and Eissen inside. Raven, Robert, Raiya, and Martina were also swallowed by the giant dome of light, but only Eissen entered Diva’s heart as per the rules of the Sword of Purification.
Mari looks behind as she holds down the fallen angel in her grip, to the ground.
“Save your ex, Ei-chan!” said Mari with a smile.

I have entered the inside of Diva’s heart. This is the Restoration method of the Sword of Purification. Personally, I never experienced this. Mari herself has never used this as well, so this is a premiere for both of us. I don’t really know specifically what I am doing here, but Mari explains that I have to convince the person that I dive into to let go of whatever past experience that is hurting them.
That sounds easier said than done.
I am someone who speaks with my actions rather than words. This is going to be difficult.

I open my eyes, and I find myself standing in the middle of nowhere. Every direction I looked showed nothing but a gigantic, open, and infinitely stretching desert.
I am standing on sand, yet my footing doesn’t feel shaky. It feels rather solid, actually, which confuses my senses even more.
This feels so weird. . .
I take a few steps forward, and I can walk properly as if I were just walking on a flat surface.
I see in all directions that there are no buildings at all. It’s just sand everywhere. I look up, and the sky is beautiful blue with no signs of cloud at all. The sun is shining brightly above my head, yet I do not feel any heat at all, and there are no signs of Diva anywhere as well.
“How am I going to find her like this?”
I started running faster in a certain direction. I don’t even know if this is the correct direction or not, but I decided to just keep going.
“DIVA-CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNN!!! WHERE ARE YOUUUUUUUUUUU????”
I started shouting her name as loud as possible.
“DIVA-CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNN!!! WHERE ARE YOUUUUUUUUUU?????”
*Step step step step*
There was no response, and the only sounds I heard were my own footsteps. I had no choice but to keep going.

I don’t know how long I have been running in this desert, but at the very least, the sun above has set, and a full moon rises to the sky, and it turned into the night sky. I also kept calling out to her, yet she never answered me the whole time.
“Where is she. . .?”
I’ve walked so long, or at least it feels like it, yet I didn’t get tired at all. The desert at night should’ve been extremely cold and chilly, yet I don’t feel any of that.
“DIVA-CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNN!!! WHERE ARE YOUUUUUUUUUU????”

I heard sounds of sand rustling behind me, and I turned around quickly.
“DIVA-CHAN??!”
And I finally found her. She rises from underneath the sands.
