Chapter 31: Yo, You Ugly Bitch
Liu Qing covered his face, glanced at Li Jindong and Zhou Wei, and said resentfully, “At least let me finish my sentence.”
“Finish my ass! The only thing I lack is patience, so spit it out in one go.” Zhou Wei raised his slipper threateningly. The stench almost knocked Li Jindong and Liu Qing out cold.
“You two idiots want to take the grad school exam? And you don’t even have basic logic.” Liu Qing couldn’t stand the smell anymore and pinched his nose. “Didn’t Yangzi say something about recommending us for grad school and telling us to wait for news? That means he’s got a way to help us. Now tell me, would a guy who could help us get into grad school be someone the school would easily expel? Obviously not. He’s got connections behind him.”
“Connections? What kind of connections?”
Zhou Wei turned to Li Jindong—digging for inside info was his specialty.
Li Jindong frowned, thinking for a moment. “Hmm, you might be onto something.”
He tapped his fingers and analyzed, “Which school cancels an expulsion the next day? That’s unheard of. So, it means either someone powerful is backing him, or someone’s standing up for him. But then again… if he really had that kind of backing, why’s he still living so miserably? That part doesn’t add up.”
“Heh, you don’t get it, but I do.” Zhou Wei, now disgusted by his own shoe smell, kicked it under the bed and said dramatically, “Think about it. Since he came to school, it’s always been his grandpa with him. Never heard of any parents. My guess? His parents are high-ranking officials, maybe he was kidnapped as a kid, and now he’s been reunited with his powerful family. Don’t forget, our Principal Zhang also has the surname Zhang. Rumor has it he has a long-lost son—what if…”
“Right! Principal Zhang of Meining University also has the same surname. Now that you mention it, they do kinda look alike! If he’s Principal Zhang’s son, it makes total sense the punishment got canceled.”
“So that’s the truth then!” the three idiots concluded triumphantly.
Meanwhile, Zhang Yang, walking by Peony Lake, suddenly stumbled for no reason and almost fell in. Of course, he had no idea his dormmates had just given him a tragic backstory and a terrifying secret identity. If he did, he’d probably vomit blood on the spot.
Xu Danlu’s dorm was in Peony Ten, a bit far from his own. On the way, Zhang Yang called her a few times, but she didn’t answer. He then called Qiao Xier, who confirmed Xu Danlu had returned to her dorm, which made Zhang Yang confused.
But as he neared Peony Ten, he noticed something unusual—a large group of girls gathered by the flowerbed, arguing heatedly.
Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
Words like “Lulu” and “slut” drifted through the air, instantly putting Zhang Yang on alert. This had to be about Xu Danlu.
Just as Zhang Yang suspected, Xu Danlu ran into trouble right after returning to school. Qiao Xier had dropped her off and left, and the moment Xu Danlu entered her dorm, her roommates gave her nothing but cold stares.
There were six people in that dorm. One lived off-campus. Of the remaining five, two got along okay with Xu Danlu, but the other two treated her like an enemy.
From Xu Danlu’s point of view, it was only natural. Those two girls were ugly, short, fat, and dark-skinned—textbook examples of it. No matter how much makeup they used, they still looked like that. A campus beauty like her and two trolls like them—it was only natural they hated her. Especially since she dressed stylishly and attractively, and had enough admirers to fill Peony Lake. Compared to them, who couldn’t get a single guy to look at them in four years, their jealousy was inevitable.
Still, she’d never discriminated against them. If anything, they were the ones constantly making snide remarks. Back when Bai Liangfeng pursued her, those two spread rumors that she was a homewrecker.
And now that she’d cut ties with Bai Liangfeng, they were accusing her of cheating on him.
Their words were vicious—so much that Xu Danlu almost lost it.
As soon as she entered the dorm, the two of them blocked the door with dark faces. “Sorry, Room 407 doesn’t welcome you.”
Their tone was firm, as if they owned the place.
Xu Danlu froze for a moment, then asked, “Why?”
“Why? Because you’ve disgraced this dorm. Everyone’s saying you’re two-timing, stringing along Bai Liangfeng while flirting with that pretty boy Zhang Yang. We, the girls of Room 407, won’t tolerate that shame.”
“You’re saying I’m two-timing?” Xu Danlu’s face darkened. She threw her bag inside the room, rolled up her sleeves, and sneered, “So what if I am? Mind your own damn business.”
She was 1.71 meters tall, and the two blocking her weren’t even 1.5 combined. With her heels on, her presence was overwhelming.
“Yeah, I’ll mind it! What about it?” One of the ugly short fatties grabbed a broom and swung it. A roommate who’d once accompanied Bai Liangfeng to visit Xu Danlu’s father tried to stop her, but the other one blocked her. “Li Ju, stay out of it. Anyone who gets in my way, I’ll fight.”
The two lunged at Xu Danlu, forcing Li Ju to pull her toward the door. The pair chased them downstairs to the flowerbed, where they cornered Xu Danlu, spewing insults like a waterfall.
“Shameless bitch! Can’t pick one man, huh?”
“Slut! Your dad’s dying and you’re still busy seducing pretty boys!”
Xu Danlu could take being insulted herself, but when they mentioned her father, she snapped. She kicked off her heels and charged.
The dorm matron arrived, along with a few peacemakers, finally managing to pull them apart.
But though they were separated, the shouting match continued. The two ugly fatties had the upper hand—and soon, a crowd of clearly premeditated supporters showed up, surrounding Xu Danlu completely and blocking her escape.
“Whore! Slut! Shameless tramp!”
“Did you hear? She tricked Bai Liangfeng out of 100,000 yuan, said it was for her dad’s treatment, then dumped him!”
“I heard she had an affair with that expelled counselor, Li Dagang—that’s why she passed Political Theory!”
“I heard she slept with Bai Liangfeng in hotels multiple times—and even got pregnant!”
“Yeah, and now Zhang Yang’s stuck being a stepdad!”
“Serves her right—no wonder her dad got sick!”
“I also heard—”
“Heard your ass! Yeah, I’m a slut, so what? You’re all ugly, short, fat, and dark—you’re not even qualified to be sluts! I can get rich, handsome guys—can you?” Xu Danlu sneered. Conflict among girls wasn’t rare, but this wasn’t normal. Too many strangers in the crowd—it was clearly planned.
She didn’t know who led them, but it was obvious her two ugly roommates were involved. So she turned her fury on them.
“Guo Dachun, you’re fat, fine—but calling yourself slim when you look like a pig? Gross! Hell, I’ve never even seen a 1.4-meter, 200-pound pig before!”
“And you, Luo Yifeng, I’ve seen ugly, but never like you. You’re the kind of ugly that would make a vibrator self-destruct inside you!”
Hearing that, Guo Dachun and Luo Yifeng lost it. They shoved aside the dorm matron and lunged at Xu Danlu, fingernails bared—aiming for her face and hair, the classic girl-fight tactics.
But just as they got close, both suddenly realized—they were airborne.
Their feet kicked helplessly in midair.
Then they noticed—someone was holding them up by the collars, dangling them like chickens.
“Where’d these ugly freaks come from, daring to bully my girlfriend?” Zhang Yang squinted, smiling as he carried the two fatties away from Xu Danlu and dropped them on the ground. Then he wiped his hands like he’d touched dog shit, rubbed them on his clothes several times, and stood beside Xu Danlu. Looking at the crowd of girls, he said coolly, “I don’t hit women—but anyone who bullies my woman, I’ll beat the crap out of.”
