Chapter 64:Cooperative Hunt

Evan wasn’t surprised anymore—FangBro really did have a survival skill for every situation. Earth?phase movement, water?phase movement… the guy was a walking escape toolkit.

And Evan wasn’t exactly the type to sit still. Curiosity tugged at him.

  “Is it dangerous?” he asked.

  FangBro puffed out his chest.

“Big bro, that question is an insult to my profession. Survival is what I do.”

“Alright then. Let’s check it out.”

  Evan trusted FangBro’s escape abilities.

And with his own Regenerator skill, he wasn’t easy to kill either.

FangBro grabbed him and jumped off the boat.

The moment they entered the water, Evan felt a thin layer of clean, flowing water wrap around his body—separating him from the filthy Vahn River.

FangBro wasn’t using water?phase movement yet. Keeping it active too long drained stamina and evolution energy, and he needed both for streaming.

“What skill is this?” Evan asked.

“Not a skill—an artifact.” FangBro grinned and pulled out a shriveled fish head. “This baby’s called the Water?Repelling Fish Head.”

  Evan stared.

“Didn’t know artifacts came in… this shape.”

It worked well, but it looked like something you’d throw into a stew.

  FangBro started his stream.

Daytime streaming on the boat had been slow—too much talking, not enough action.

Nighttime underwater streaming was his chance to boost viewership.

The water was dark and murky, so FangBro pulled out a glowing orb.

  “Another artifact?” Evan asked.

“Nah, this one’s tech. A Lumin Pearl—made from beast materials.”

With the area lit up, the stream became clear.

FangBro slipped into “educational mode,” narrating like a nature documentary host.

He pointed the camera at a cluster of turtles.

“These are Vahn River turtles—Tier?1, D?rank. Super docile. Won’t attack humans.”

Then he swam toward a massive catfish bigger than a person.

“This is a Vahn River catfish. Males are D?rank, females E?rank. They can attack humans, but only if they think they can win. They’re cowards.”

He pointed at a school of large carp.

“Vahn River carp—Tier?1, E?rank. Bottom of the food chain, but they breed like crazy.”

  Stolen story; please report.

Evan and FangBro walked along the riverbed, watching giant fish drift overhead like living submarines.

  Evan couldn’t help thinking:

This place is a fisherman’s paradise. One catch and you could parade it around the neighborhood for a week.

Then the water ahead suddenly churned.

  Something big was coming.

  FangBro pointed excitedly.

“That’s a Vahn River crocodile—Tier?2, C?rank. One of the few beasts here that actively attacks humans. Nasty temperament, strong fighter.”

Before he finished, the beast lunged.

Evan finally saw it clearly—massive body, armor?like scales, a long saw?toothed snout, and a tumor?like bump at the tip.

It snapped its jaws at them.

  FangBro didn’t panic.

He kept the camera steady, waited until the last second, then activated water?phase movement.

They vanished and reappeared dozens of meters away.

  The chat exploded with excitement.

  FangBro turned to Evan.

“Big bro, you okay? Want me to take you back to the boat?”

  But Evan wasn’t scared.

  He was thinking.

  That water?phase movement…

Combined with his own explosive power…

“FangBro,” Evan said slowly, “how about we work together and hunt that crocodile?”

He wanted to test his current strength—see if he could pierce a Tier?2 beast’s defenses.

And he wanted to see what happened when his power combined with FangBro’s mobility.

“Can we… do that?” FangBro asked.

“I handle the attacks. You phase me in and out. I hit it, you pull me away. Repeat until it dies.”

  FangBro’s eyes lit up.

  This was perfect streaming content.

And he trusted his escape skills.

Even if they failed to kill it, he could get them out alive.

  “Alright! Let’s do it!”

He changed the stream title to:

“Battle with the Vahn River Crocodile!”

He strapped the phone to his chest.

“Alright chat, first?person POV—let’s dive into a real fight!”

FangBro had never initiated combat before.

He was practically vibrating with excitement.

  “Ready?” he asked.

  Evan nodded.

In the next instant, his body dissolved into flowing water—

And they shot through the river like a bullet.

They reappeared above the crocodile’s back.

  Evan didn’t hesitate.

  Ant Strength + Needle Strike.

His finger jabbed into the armored scales—

  Shattering them.

A sharp burst of force drilled into the beast’s flesh, leaving a bleeding hole.

The crocodile roared, tail whipping around.

  “Side!” Evan shouted.

FangBro activated water?phase movement again, dodging the tail and repositioning them at the crocodile’s flank.

  The belly scales were softer—perfect.

  Evan struck again.

This time his Needle Strike pierced straight through the white underbelly, blood clouding the water.

  The crocodile went berserk.

It slammed its tail and claws into the riverbed, unleashing its signature skill—

  Raging Tides.

A shockwave blasted outward, stirring the water violently.

The concussive force rattled Evan’s bones.

FangBro froze for a split second—

  Stunned.

He missed the timing to escape.

  Teamwork is great—

until your partner gets stunned underwater in front of a giant crocodile.

Then it becomes a test of faith… and reflexes.
