Arrival of the Silver Frost Calamity Wolf, Descent of the Divine Frame Golem

  "ROAR!"

Low, thunderous beastly roars echoed continuously across the field.

A Winter Frost Behemoth abruptly opened its gaping maw, spewing a visible stream of white freezing currents. It instantly froze a Wizard and his follower, who couldn't dodge in time, into solid ice sculptures. Then, its massive claw slammed down heavily. With a sharp crack, the ice sculptures and the people trapped inside shattered into a floor full of icy debris.

Similar scenes were playing out all across the battlefield.

Facing hundreds of Winter Frost Behemoths, the Wizards were instantly plunged into a bitter, grueling struggle.

Gwendolyn carefully dodged a Winter Frost Behemoth's attack while taking a brief moment to glance over at Pierce.

Perhaps because his previous performance had been too eye-catching, Pierce was suddenly surrounded by over a dozen Winter Frost Behemoths.

The massive beasts practically crammed the space within a several-hundred-meter radius around him, leaving him absolutely no room to evade.

The next second, the Winter Frost Behemoths opened their mouths in unison, and torrential freezing currents instantly engulfed Pierce's location.

Seeing this, Gwendolyn couldn't help but gasp, a look of deep worry washing over her face.

  "Focus on the battle!"

Enevia's calm voice rang in her ear.

"That level of attack isn't enough to hurt Pierce."

As if to verify her words, over a hundred bolts of lightning suddenly tore through the freezing currents, sweeping over a Winter Frost Behemoth like a raging flood.

The Winter Frost Behemoth didn't even have time to scream before it was shredded and vaporized by the lightning.

The lightning paused slightly, revealing the true forms of the silver spikes, before accelerating again, turning to strike another Winter Frost Behemoth.

At the same time, Pierce charged out of the freezing currents. His entire body was radiating dazzling silver light and wreathed in violent lightning. He didn't look injured in the slightest; instead, he appeared even more majestically intimidating.

He raised his hand, and a dull gray ray shot from his palm, striking a nearby Winter Frost Behemoth with arrow-like precision.

  Ray of Exhaustion!

A higher-tier spell than Ray of Enfeeblement. Upon striking the target, it inflicted a state of extreme weakness and fatigue.

In an instant, the Winter Frost Behemoth's body stiffened, and its crystal-clear icy form seemed to visibly dim.

Before it could even catch its breath, the sky-blotting lightning swept over it, blasting it to ash!

Pierce remained expressionless, shifting his targets to the other Winter Frost Behemoths.

  Slow! Sleep! Sepia Snake Sigil!

One optimized, inscribed spell after another was continuously cast from Pierce's hands.

Shrouded in the halos of various spells, the Winter Frost Behemoths either froze in place, unable to move, or saw their movements slow to a crawl, immediately followed by being shredded by the blazing lightning.

In just a short while, more than half of the dozen Winter Frost Behemoths besieging Pierce had been slain. The remaining three or four were now being chased by Pierce, fleeing in all directions.

Even amidst the intense battle, the surrounding Wizards couldn't help but stare blankly at the spectacle.

This freak... Gwendolyn clicked her tongue inwardly and then shook her head.

"I worried about him for nothing."

Reigning in her stray thoughts, Gwendolyn focused on dealing with the enemies in front of her.

With Gemstone Magic at her disposal, although she couldn't kill a Winter Frost Behemoth, defending herself was more than enough.

Just then, the sound of flapping wings suddenly echoed from behind, as if a massive flock of flying creatures was approaching.

Gwendolyn looked back and saw tens of thousands of creatures flying in from the direction of Red Maple City.

At first glance, these creatures looked like winged stone statues. They had hideous faces, stood nearly two meters tall, and their demon-like wings spanned seven to eight meters when spread. They exuded a cold, sinister aura.

  "Gargoyles!"

  Gwendolyn was slightly taken aback.

Gargoyles were one of the rare types of constructs whose combat prowess could rival that of golems, far stronger than the likes of stone or iron puppets.

They possessed immense strength, feared no death, and had astonishing regenerative abilities. While out of combat, as long as they transformed back into their stationary stone statue state, they could rapidly heal their injuries.

The combat capability of a single Gargoyle was entirely on par with an experienced Tier 1 Legendary Knight.

Upon arriving at the battlefield, the Gargoyles blotted out the sky as they charged at the Winter Frost Behemoths.

In terms of individual combat power, Gargoyles were vastly inferior to Winter Frost Behemoths, but they won out in sheer numbers, thick hides, and a complete disregard for death.

A Winter Frost Behemoth smashed several Gargoyles to pieces with a single swipe of its paw and spat out a freezing current that turned over a dozen Gargoyles into ice sculptures that plummeted to the ground and shattered. But this still couldn't deter the swarm.

More Gargoyles scrambled forward to attack, their sharp claws continuously raking across the Winter Frost Behemoths, leaving deep gouges.

Under the endless, suicidal assaults of the Gargoyles, a Winter Frost Behemoth was quickly torn to pieces.

  Then the second, the third...

As the casualties among the Winter Frost Behemoths mounted, the pressure on the Wizards greatly decreased. The momentum that the Turins had painstakingly clawed back gradually began to tilt toward their opponents once more.

If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

  Sizzle!

After manipulating his silver spikes to finish off another Winter Frost Behemoth, Pierce looked around and found that the initially dense pack of Behemoths had been mostly wiped out, leaving only a dozen or so.

However, the Gargoyles had also suffered catastrophic losses, with less than a thousand remaining.

Pierce turned his gaze toward the main battlefield. The roars of slaughter coming from there were still deafening; the intensity of the battle showed no signs of waning.

High in the heavens, dazzling prismatic light almost entirely occupied the sky, blindingly bright and making it impossible to see the situation above. Only rolling, thunderous sonic booms occasionally echoed down.

The battle between the Wizard Towers and the Turin war fortresses raged on like wildfire.

Just then, Pierce suddenly saw a dark shadow plummeting from the sky.

The shadow grew larger and larger.

  BOOM!

A Winter Frost Behemoth couldn't dodge in time and was struck squarely by the shadow. Its massive, hard body was instantly pulverized, sending ice chunks flying like shrapnel, turning over a dozen surrounding Gargoyles into sieves.

When the dust settled, the crowd looked closely and were shocked to discover that what had fallen was the Adamantine Golem—the only one in the entire Golem Legion!

The previously majestic and mighty Adamantine Golem was now covered in dents and craters.

The surface of its indestructible body, forged from adamantine, was littered with shocking, dense claw marks and was heavily coated in frost.

Huge gashes had been torn open in some places, vaguely revealing the precise magic crystal structures inside.

"What's going on?" a Wizard gasped.

The Adamantine Golem was a powerful war machine capable of rivaling a Rank 3 Wizard. Who could beat it into such a miserable state?

Could a Rank 4 Wizard have made a move?

No one answered him, as the others were equally bewildered and alarmed.

However, they didn't have to wonder for long. An extreme, absolute chill suddenly descended, enveloping the entire flanking battlefield.

The Wizards looked up and saw a giant wolf suspended high in the sky.

It was snow-white all over, its flowing, smooth fur covering its long, lithe body like a layer of silver frost. Standing on all fours, it was five meters tall, and its length was visibly over ten meters.

It was wreathed in a faint, visible frigid mist, looking like a block of eternally unmelting profound ice, radiating a bone-piercing cold.

Merely looking at it caused a chill to involuntarily shoot up one's spine.

  "The S-Silver Frost Calamity Wolf!"

Just as the crowd was wondering about the giant wolf's origins, a voice pitched high with terror suddenly rang out.

Everyone looked in astonishment and found the speaker was a Werewolf-like Wizard whose frost-white fur bore some resemblance to the giant wolf in the sky.

"It's a Wizard from House Monroe!" "If that's the case, then that really is the Silver Frost Calamity Wolf!"

In an instant, the expressions of the Wizards changed drastically.

In legends, the Silver Frost Calamity Wolf was a powerful ancient creature capable of rivaling a Rule Wizard. An entity of this caliber could crush all the Wizards present with a single finger.

How were they supposed to fight this?!

Gwendolyn was equally pale. Clinging to a sliver of hope, she asked the bat on her shoulder, "Enevia, is that really the Silver Frost Calamity Wolf?"

However, Enevia's answer shattered her last illusion.

"It is indeed the Silver Frost Calamity Wolf."

Just as Gwendolyn's face contorted in horror, Enevia shifted her tone:

"However, it's just an adolescent Silver Frost Calamity Wolf. It's probably been born less than a century ago."

Gwendolyn reignited with hope and quickly asked, "So we still have a chance to defeat it?"

Enevia seemed to chuckle, her voice carrying a leisurely drawl. "Stop dreaming. Even an adolescent Silver Frost Calamity Wolf possesses combat power equivalent to a Rank 6 Wizard. With just you lot, you couldn't even harm a single hair on its body."

"...Then what's the point of telling me that?" Gwendolyn's face instantly fell.

Enevia said unhurriedly, "Don't worry. It's not your turn to deal with this guy."

Gwendolyn froze, about to ask for clarification, when a bizarre sound suddenly reached her ears.

It was an obscure, mumbled incantation.

The source of the voice couldn't be identified. It seemed to come from all directions, echoing across the sky above the battlefield.

The surrounding air temperature plummeted drastically in an instant, and an incomparably massive figure abruptly materialized above the battlefield.

Initially just a phantom, it solidified into a physical form within mere seconds.

Judging by its silhouette alone, it was a Titan-like giant. Even the tallest Adamantine Golem standing next to it would only reach its knees.

But upon closer inspection, one would realize it was an incredibly ugly monster.

Its head was very small, but its mouth was incredibly large. Its arms were of uneven lengths, its legs uneven in thickness, its torso long and its lower body short. Even the color of its skin was mottled and patchy. It looked like an abomination, or a shoddily crafted Flesh Golem, hastily pieced together from different corpses.

And this was essentially the truth.

It was indeed a golem constructed from corpses.

Only, it didn't use human or beast corpses, but the bodies of dead gods!

Even though they had never seen it with their own eyes, the moment the Wizards saw the golem, a sudden realization dawned in their hearts.

This was Aurora City's proudest, ultimate war machine—the Divine Frame Golem! It was said to possess an indestructible body, immune to all spells below the 7th-Circle and spell-like abilities of the same tier, and was even capable of utilizing portions of divine power!

The moment the Divine Frame Golem finished forming, it lunged forward and threw a massive punch, landing squarely on the Silver Frost Calamity Wolf. The immense force smashed the beast out of the sky, blasting a massive crater into the ground with a deafening boom.

  "Awooo!"

The Silver Frost Calamity Wolf merely shook its head, quickly got up, and let out a furious howl. It lunged viciously at the Divine Frame Golem in the sky, its razor-sharp claws and fangs carrying an absolute chill as they frantically tore at the construct.

In the blink of an eye, the two engaged in a ferocious mid-air slaughter.

The Divine Frame Golem was not slow; it lacked the clumsiness of ordinary golems. However, it was still inferior to the agile and lithe Silver Frost Calamity Wolf, taking frequent hits.

Fortunately, it had incredibly thick skin and astonishing regenerative abilities. Even when struck by the Calamity Wolf, the wounds would heal completely within seconds.

The two fought to a standstill for the time being.

But this spelled absolute misery for the surrounding crowds.

Any stray shockwave from their clash was a terrifying catastrophe for anyone else.

A Rank 4 Priest standing relatively close was swept by a shockwave generated from the Golem's punch; even from a kilometer away, his body exploded into a mist of blood.

A Rank 2 Wizard dodged just a bit too slowly and was frozen solid by a passing freezing current, eternally entombed in an ice sculpture.

After dozens of Wizards and Priests died as collateral damage, the rest scrambled back as if waking from a nightmare, their faces pale. They retreated a full four or five kilometers before stopping, their hearts still pounding with lingering terror.

Pierce also retreated a considerable distance.

Even he couldn't withstand the shockwaves from the battle between the Divine Frame Golem and the Silver Frost Calamity Wolf.

"So this is the power of the Rank 6 tier..."

Pierce stared deeply at the distant battle, a fiery glint flashing in his eyes.

When will I be able to reach that level?

  Sizzle!

A Winter Frost Priest, seeing Pierce distracted, seized the opportunity to launch a sneak attack from behind. But the moment he closed in, the silver spikes suddenly protruding from Pierce's back pierced straight through his chest. The erupting lightning instantly reduced him to a charred husk.

Pierce didn't even spare the corpse a glance. Reigning in his emotions, he continued to slaughter the enemy.

The interrupted battles broke out again. However, whether ally or enemy, everyone couldn't help but spare a fraction of their attention to watch the clash between the Divine Frame Golem and the Silver Frost Calamity Wolf.

Even the few Rank 3 Wizards and High Priests were no exception.

Everyone understood that the battle between the Divine Frame Golem and the Silver Frost Calamity Wolf was the true deciding factor for the flanking battlefield!

  BOOM! BOOM!

Thunderous explosions echoed across the battlefield.

The entire sky was shrouded in a freezing blizzard. Gale-force winds howled, and frost filled the air, resembling a true natural disaster.

This was the origin of the Silver Frost Calamity Wolf's name.

The frost and snowstorms under its control wielded the power of a natural calamity, capable of easily wiping out a city.

The Divine Frame Golem's massive body teetered in the blizzard, struggling to move forward.

Seeing the Divine Frame Golem falling into a disadvantage, the Turins rejoiced, while the Wizards' expressions darkened.

"It looks like the Divine Frame Golem isn't a match," Gwendolyn said, laden with worry.

"Don't worry," Enevia remained calm and collected. "The Divine Frame Golem hasn't even unleashed its true strength yet."

  "What do you mean?"

The one asking was Pierce. He had appeared next to Gwendolyn at some point, casually finishing off a persistently pursuing Winter Frost Priest for her.

Enevia glanced at him, not bothering to keep him in suspense, and said leisurely, "Don't forget, the Divine Frame Golem is constructed from the corpses of dead gods. Therefore, it has inherited a portion of divine power."

Just as she spoke, she seemed to sense something and looked up at the sky.

  "It's beginning."

Pierce and Gwendolyn reflexively looked up.

At the same time, that familiar, obscure incantation echoed across the battlefield once more.
