Chapter- 108 (Questions! Questions!! And More Questions!!!)

Looking at his days, Mark couldn’t help but feel a little sting in his heart.

  28,585 Days.

Compared to 87,251, which he had at the start, 28,585 Days felt so few.

Wish he had known at the test ground what killing more wolves meant, he would’ve made sure to make Colby multiply to amass days in millions.

But wishes were just that, wishes.

After spending days reviving his family and buying fruit of death and fruit of peaceful death, he was left with 47049 Days.

Spending 30 years in the safety zone, deducted 10,958 days. After that, he bought Joker’s Indestructible Mask worth 100 days, which he doubted was working, cuz enemies always end up recognizing who he was.

Or at the very least, they knew he was their target, which literally made this so-called Joker’s mask a useless mask.

First, those people who marked him, and then the new party that came to hunt him just now.

So, why the fuck was he wearing this freaking mask? He had no idea.

Then, he revived Colby, his slave, using 10,000 days, thus he was left with 25,991 days.

Then he amassed 1267 days, and then he just amassed 1327 days, thus 28,585 days.

28,585 may sound like a lot of days, but the truth was they were not. They only amount to 78 years, 2 months, and 26 days, and he really wasn’t satisfied with such a small number of days.

At least, after knowing that not one, he had somehow gained two different organizations as his enemies.

But he didn’t care about that; one or two organizations, it was all the same for him, enemies were enemies.

What he was interested in knowing was about what that old man said, thinking that, he turned his face towards Ayden, “What the fuck was that old man talking about? When did I owe him 96 lives? I freaking killed them with my own hands. That makes those lives mine, no?”

Shaking his head, Ayden turned to Mark. “They don’t. That old man spared your life. If he wanted, he could have killed you like a bug, but he did not do any such thing and let you live. For a second, let’s say you could’ve survived the ordeal, which is impossible in reality, but let’s say somehow you could’ve, even then it would’ve been a life and death situation. Isn’t it better to buy your life, just for a meager 96 days? I’d say such a transaction is totally worth it.”

Mark raised his hand. “Hey, I am not saying I have a problem with giving him 96 days, but I can do that only by giving him living creatures. Killing and capturing living creatures is a totally different thing. Plus, now I won’t be going back to the battlefield until I have completed all of my stats to 10 points, and then raise my four elementals to the higher limit. I simply can’t take any chance.”

“I know that.” Ayden said, “And that old man also knows that too, this is why he did not put any time limit. Whenever next time you go back to the battlefield, at that time you will have to capture 96 creatures for him, then I will send those creatures to him, and our promise will be completed.”

“What if that old man died before that? What then?” Asked Mark just to be sure.

“Well, then 96 days will automatically be deducted from your status panel, and that old man will be forcefully revived for that many days, and will be allowed to live 96 days peacefully in the safety zone,” Ayden replied.

  “That’s sick.” Mark laughed.

“It is, but this is how the tower works. Nothing hides from it, and no loophole exists in it.” Ayden replied, as then his face turned serious, “But that was not why that old man was there.”

“What do you mean?” Asked Mark.

“He did not just come there to tell you to return 96 days to him, but to send you an invitation too. Through his companion, he sent me this invitation.” Ayden said as he pulled an invitation out of nowhere.

It was just a black card on which the word ‘Invite’ was written.

  “Invitation?” Asked Mark in doubt.

“Whenever that old man is in the safe zone and wants to meet you, this invitation will light up, and my duty will be to show you the invitation at that time. Then you can decide whether you want to meet that old man or not.” Ayden spoke, “If he gave this invitation in such a secret manner, which can’t be exploited in any way, then it must be very important. Plus, this invitation will only take you anywhere inside the safe zone, so its 100% safe.”

“Why does he want to meet me? Does he also know who I am?” Mark asked in confusion, as then he remembered something and glared at Ayden, “And what the fuck is wrong with this mask. Is it really hiding my identity? Only two times have I gone on the battlefield, and both times two different parties have found me, as if they were waiting just for me.”

“It is hiding your identity, Mark. Nothing can break its spell. There is a reason why it is worth 100 days.” Ayden replied, “And I also don’t understand how these parties knew where you were, but believe me when I say that they did not exploit any of the tower’s loopholes, as they do not exist. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have spent 1000 days and sacrificed a living True Warrior to mark you permanently. The only reason they did that is that they have some method to locate your location, but only once, and they used that opportunity masterfully. As for the second party, they must have used the same method too, or something like that.”

“Why are they really behind me? Is there anything special about me? Except for jumping directly from floor 1 to floor 2, there is nothing special I have done.” Mark spoke his doubt out loud.

“Maybe that’s it. Maybe that’s the reason. This is something I am going through for the first time, too. But believe me when I say, there is nothing different about someone who had jumped directly from the first floor to the second floor, and the warrior who had slowly become a true warrior and then jumped to the second floor. The only difference would be that the latter would always be more powerful and ruthless than the former.” Ayden replied.
