Emilio took a long shower, trying to forget the shouting child that was still in his head. He had asked to see the kid before leaving and he was still sleeping, but he seemed on his way to recovering.
Given that they didn’t have to train, he knew that there was no way Amelia would wake up early and decided to eat breakfast by himself.
While he was eating a girl came out of Amelia’s room, but it was not his niece.
“Good morning Emi,” Victoria greeted him.
“Good morning Vic, I didn’t know you were here.”
“Ami said it would not be a problem, and my mom knows I am here.”
“It is not. I was just not expecting you. My mistake given how inseparable you are turning out to be. Is Ami still sleeping?”
“Like a rock, I am surprised she didn’t wake up as I kind of bumped into the bed by mistake.”
“Let her be, she hasn’t been able to sleep until late for a while. Do you want to join me for breakfast? I can take you home afterwards.”
Victoria was a bit embarrassed by that comment and hesitated before answering. “But… the whole reason for staying was to spend the day with Ami.”
“I didn't know that you can’t even spend one day apart now,” Emilio joked with a half smile on his face.
“It’s not that!” The girl spurted. “We wanted to have fun on our free day, we have been training all along,” she suddenly turned a little bit sad and added “And I even had to move here with my parents.”
At that moment, Emilio realized the problem with the girl. She had been forced to move away from her friends. In one day, her whole world changed because her mother had to train some System prodigy.
Once she arrived, she became friends with the niece of the prodigy, who turned out to be even more of a prodigy to be trained. Even then, they became friends and she was convinced to join the training, something she had always hated.
Now that she had some free time, she wanted to spend it with her only friend around.
“I’m sorry Vic,” Emilio changed his approach. “You are welcome to stay here all the time you want, just make sure your parents know you are here. Would you join me for breakfast and tell me what you want to do until the sleeping beauty wakes up?”
In the end, he had breakfast with the girl. Emilio sacrificed a little bit of his huge portion so she could eat, and left Amelia’s portion for when she woke up.
After breakfast, Emilio left the girl in the living room playing video games and he went to his room to read a book. He also called the restaurant about the redistribution of the lunch menu, so they could all have their fill.
He received the lunch at the normal hour, but Amelia was still fast asleep. Emilio decided to eat lunch with Victoria, now doubting if it even was a smart idea to let the girl stay given that Amelia did not seem to wake up.
“Is she really sleeping this much?” Victoria asked.
“This is kind of the Ami I know. She always liked to sleep late. Today is kind of an exaggeration, but she was training all week. Maybe I should have expected it.”
“She should have told me… Well, it is not as it would have made any difference. I would have stayed all the same.”

“You could have come in the afternoon too.” Emilio added.
Victoria doubted a little before answering.
“If I tell you something, could you not tell my parents?”
“Sure, I have no problem.” Emilio believed that it was better for a teenager to be able to confide in someone who can help her than to keep everything to herself. Even if it was something that the parents should know. What was better? For her to not talk to anybody, or have someone to help her out.
“I prefer to be here, I don’t like to be too close to my mother a lot of the time.”
“Just your mother?”
“Well, my father usually approves of her, but I don’t share many values with her. I know she loves me, but it is hard to be around her.”
“Do you want to solve your issues with her?”
“Of course!”
“Then work it out, talk with her, tell her what bothers you. But don’t do it when you are angry, that usually makes things worse.”
“Would that really work?”
“Do you have a better way? How would she know what bothers you if you don’t tell her?”
“I don’t know, isn’t it obvious?”
“If it was, there would be no problem. Just think about it. Either way, you are welcome to come here with Ami. It is better for you to be here, than somewhere no one knows. Just tell Alberto when you are here so he knows you are safe.”
“Why my father?”
“Do you think they are married because they don’t know each other? He will know when to tell her.”
Victoria thought a little while, before softly saying, “Thank you.”
“You are welcome. I can’t believe I am actually acting as a parent right now. This should be Nicole’s job!” Emilio joked, making the girl laugh.
They kept eating lunch, but halfway through the meal the heavy sleeper finally awoke from her slumber. She came into the room still in pajamas, with a sleepy face and messy hair.
“Good morning,” she greeted with a yawn.
“Did you mean to say good afternoon?” Emilio asked.
“Good morning, we were debating if we had to call the morgue to pick up your body,” Victoria joked.
“Come on, it is not that late! And I was really tired!”
“So, you left your friend to be with me all morning?” Emilio asked.
“When did you wake up?” Amelia asked.
“Around 9? Like a normal person.”
“But you were awake with me until late!” Amelia complained.
“Blessings of the Vitality, you should upgrade it soon,” Victoria commented.
“That is unfair!”
“Says the girl with a Rank 4 Bloodline,” Emilio pointed out.
“Those two things have nothing to do with each other!”
“Whatever you say. Would you join us for lunch? Or do you want your breakfast?”
“Lunch please,” She said as she sat down. She looked at her friend and her uncle and sighed. “Thank you for letting her stay even if I was asleep.”
“Didn’t you say you were sure he was fine with it?” Victoria asked.
“I might not have been that sure. Living here was supposed to be a temporary arrangement for just a week, so things are a little bit on the go.”
Emilio started laughing at her comment. “Don’t worry, I would have preferred for you to ask me, but I was not available. It doesn’t matter how it happened, you are living here and you are welcome to stay. As long as you don’t throw a party, or make a mess I am fine with it.”
“See? I was right,” Amelia said proudly.
“Right, but not sure,” Victoria countered. She also looked at the looks of her friend with a chuckle. “By the way, nice hairstyle.”
Amelia froze for a few seconds and turned red when she realized she had not gotten ready at all after sleeping.
“I’ll be right back.” She stood up to rush out of the room while Emilio and Victoria laughed.
“Just stay here Ami, we already saw you like this, and by the time you finish getting ready, we will have already finished lunch.”
“But—” Amelia started saying as she was interrupted by her uncle. “No buts, you are the one who woke up after 1.”
“You will see,” Amelia pouted, but sat down again “Today I will take the Vitality Trial and will have it higher than any of you!”
“I sure hope so,” Emilio wished “I will still be betting on you again.”
“At this point, I think all of us want to bet on her,” Victoria agreed.
“At least all of you know your place,” Amelia said full of pride and took a portion of the meal.
